Our first and last adventure here. The Dennys across the street never disappointed us as this food has. I wish we had waited for Au Petit Four to open which was our original destination. It too is a family run restaurant - though it is a French family and the food there never disappointed - many praises to them all around. My chosen meal at this U.S. Egg was the "specialty dish" spinach florentine. SO had a ham & cheese omelette. Old or "off" oils/margarine spoiled the eggs, potatoes, english muffins and hollandaise sauce (which i had asked for on the side). Yes, the food was cold very soon and perhaps it was the pretty glass plates. The Decor was bright and sunny but warning that in a booth you will sit on wood slats with no cushioning. The server just didnt do anything nice for unhappy customers or I could have rated higher just for bringing the food we ordered. i could not recommend anyone even try it. Why bother when Au Petit Four is so close and the French family from that country has a put together a great atmosphere/decor, excellent food and caring service.

My husband and I visited this restaurant for the first time. First impression was good. However, it quickly went downhill. I ordered the Bay Area French Toast and my husband ordered the Chorizo & Eggs. About 10 minutes after we placed our order, our server returned to tell me that they had no strawberries (which was one of the main ingredients in the Bay Area French Toast). I then ordered the Belgian Waffle and asked that they bring my husbands order as soon as it was done so that his order was not cold waiting for mine. They brought my husbands order in a few minutes. His eggs were cold and the whites were clearly not done as they were clear. At that point we decided to leave. I walked out. My husband, however, stopped at the front to pay for his cup of coffee. The manager was rude and told my husband he didnt like his attitude when he told him the eggs were cold and undercooked and asked why it took them 10 minutes to figure out that they had no strawberries. He paid $2.90 for a cup of coffee and a rude manager. I wouldnt return to this place for any reason.

Wont go back. Unfortunately many visitors will (and do) go here and will not get the best impression of Old Town Scottsdale. If they are like me, they wont go back a third time. I gave them a second chance. :) The staff just could not be any less interested in serving great food and making a warm wonderful experience. The hollandaise is gloppy. The eggs undercooked. You cant spread smashed avocados (wut?). And everyone is in a hurry to move you through. They are not focused on the guest and seeing things from a customers perspective. You cant manufacture real "hospitality." You can exemplify it, coach it, set the scene. Maybe this good concept just got over its head and became too "chain." Its too bad. I want to like it. :-)

This place was great! Diverse menu, friendly staff, great flavors, and all the little touches that make a breakfast place a "great" breakfast place. The best part was the attentive staff. Bailee was top notch. Friendly, attentive but not overly so, and ready with good suggestions when asked. She honestly seemed to care about my breakfast experience. Offering me a coffee to go was a nice touch. The menu has so many choices that I was almost overwhelmed. The food came out fast but fresh. I have zero complaints or criticisms. I will definitely be back.

Visiting from out of state. Ate here yesterday, 3/23/13. My experience was excellent overall. From the moment I walked in till I left, I was treated politely and attentively. I ordered the veggie omelet add avo, egg whites only, side of fruit and coffee. It was all excellent. The omelet was very fresh tasting, and wasnt drowning in oil. The fruit plate was beautiful, ripe, and delicious. The portions were also very good size and the prices were very fair. My server was very nice and kept my drinks full. Definitely recommend.

My husband and I tried this place one morning looking for somewhere new to us. We were pleasantly surprised by how much we liked it. The protein pancakes are my new craving! Love them! The only reason I didnt give the final star is only because seating at this location is a little weird. Our second time we were seated right next to the kitchen door where my husband could watch everything. He didnt enjoy that. The food however has been great each time.

Food quality is superb as is the service and ambiance. My brother and I visit at least once a week. Complaint: your burger buns collapse almost immediately and gum down to a 1/4" thick . Suggest 3 different rolls: A. Ciabata Roll B. Kaiser Roll C. Pretzel Roll Toast them...these will hold up to handling the burger nicely until it is finished going down the hatch. Thank you for your attention here..a burger aint a burger without a great bun!

We went here for both mornings on our trip to AZ last month. My family of 5 was welcomed warmly, the service was top notch and the food was amazing! Im not one for going to the same restaurant twice while on vacation, but we couldnt help but go back the second day because the first day was so good! The menu was extensive enough to please everyone in my family, but not so large that it was overwhelming. I wish they had a location here in CO.

Clean, friendly, good food. We will be back. I ordered the half and half which was half a skillet and 2 protein pancakes which I guess the protein pancakes are kind of their specialty. Anyway the portion was more then enough and very good. Waitress was attentive and friendly. This is a good place. I would suggest if you are kind of a light eater think about sharing a plate because portions are on the large side.

Waitress and staff are great. I had chicken fried steak. It was the worst chicken fried steak Ive ever eaten. The eggs were done good hash browns are okay. They only offered me one bag of Lipton tea for my hot tea cup. $18 including tip seems high for this place. I have now come back for a second visit. Again the waitresses are great. Breakfast was quick. I had the Santa Fe skillet it was the best Ive ever had.

For a restaurant that calls itself U.S. Egg, you would think they would have a prerequisite that the "chef" could cook an egg "over medium"... When you ask for over medium and explain that you want the yolk to be runny but the white cooked, you should be able to get it cooked that way. And the corned beef hash and hash browns were only slightly warm. Pretty sure this will be my one and only visit.

In all honesty, this is the only breakfast place that my family and I LOVE coming to. The food is excellent and their portions are huge! So huge, in fact, that we wont up sharing two meals between the four of us. That makes it economical too! The coffee is also great! My favorite is the Meat Lovers Skillet. The owner is awesome and so is the wait staff! I wish I could give them 100 stars!
