It has been a VERY long time since Ive found a place I can truly say was a diamond in the rough! This is truly it! In one of the most obscure locations imaginable but truly an epicurean delight! Excellent service! Something I dare say is a rarity in itself these days. Being greeted by smiling faces and sincerity when speaking about the food that awaited us was also a treat! My husband had the pizza which was a homemade dough truly everything put together by someone who has truly specialized in the Italian kitchen. Sauce was superb! and not the typical kraft packaged cheese but a finery of mozzarella worthy of placing on a pizza! I myself had the special. A baby scallops and clams combined in a meticulously prepared white sauce which normally would be placed on a bed of fettuccine but due to my dietary needs was on a simple plate with a side of fresh vegetables. The shell fish was truly fresh and the clams were in the shell. Portions were perfect! and leftovers were NOT an issue! The sauce was; perfect for any pasta served with but also worked well with the vegetables. VERY tasty! Our young son being the budding connoisseur that he is ordered the clams in a red wine sauce combined with tomatoes. Beautifully combined with the clams and also normally combined with linguini but alas he also suffers dietary issues holding him back from pasta as well. Delicious! We took a slice of tiramisu to go and I just finished scrapping the last bit of mascarpone from the to-go container. The only thing keeping me from calling it perfect was the lack of Marsala mixed with the coffee used to make the tiramisu! I have given no one 5 stars so with 4 this was a fine dinning experience in an almost diner environment. Do not be fooled by the neighborhood upon finding this little gem! Right off the I17 west on Deer Valley Rd. .

Where does one begin? We called in our order and were told 10 minutes and that we needed to hurry. The food was not ready and once my wife arrived she waited over twenty minutes. Thats really not too big of a deal, but while she waited she was forced to listen to cooks berate the wait staff, my wife didnt appreciate the atmosphere this created of awkwardly waiting while cooks assaulted the staff. Regardless of how inadequate a wait staff member may be, you shouldnt force your customers to listen to that. Secondly, the hood was being cleaned while she waited for our food. That means that cleaning was happening above this food. I doubt they are using organic cleaners, and even if they are I dont know that I want the added seasoning of cleaning liquids or old grease dripping from a hood vent into my food, I dont know if any of that is "authentic Italian". Thirdly, the containers used in our to-go order where beyond sub-par. As my poor wife approached our front door the ravioli MELTED through the plastic and poured out of the bag...What the hell? 1. Garbage staff 2. Garbage hygiene (yknow keeping contaminants out of food) 3. Garbage packaging/presentation Super duper Garbage experience, I wont recommend this place to anyone. I typically dont even do reviews online unless they are positive, this experience has literally made me a worse person. What a bizarre takeaway from a restaurant that was supposed to be a fun treat for the family turned into an inconvenient, awkward, unsanitary and ultimately un-safe experience. One word keeps coming to mind as I write this review ...GARBAGE.

My wife and I came here after we couldnt grab a bite at Cracker Barrel due to a gas problem. Having enjoyed food here many times years ago, I looked forward to trying it again. The food presentation was on par with my memory but the food itself was just OK. We ordered mussels as an appetizer. They smelled a bit fishy and were a bit rubbery. For entrées we had chicken parmesan and penne chicken. Of the two the penne was better, but the chicken tasted old. The chicken parmesan was simply terrible. The chicken tasted and looked like it had been recooked it also appeared to be a single breast half sliced in half and pounded even thinner to appear larger when breaded. It was dry and old rancid oil flavored. The waitress half heatedly offered to remake it, but it seemed like it would come out the same, so I declined, mentioning that the other location on Union Hills was equally bad. She didnt offer to do anything about it so we paid packed up and left. See pictures for how over cooked and small the chicken was. We cant recommend anyone eat here. It was great a decade ago but now it simply is over priced sub par salty food.

We will never be back. We tried this restaurant and it was good so we decided to go a second time. Once again the meal was good but when we got the check (about at $90 meal for 4), we noticed that they had charged us $1.25 for a small cup of extra marinara sauce one of our party asked for. We questioned it and they became really upset. At one point they told us they had to charge for the extra sauce because they "Inventory" the marinara. When it was asked for, the waiter did not tell us there would be a charge for the extra sauce (that would have been fair). After a lot of arguing and talking to the manager (who was really rude), they begrudgingly removed the $1.25 from the bill. The manager threw the corrected bill at us without even a word. So rude. Even though the food was good we will never go back after being treated like this. There are too many other restaurants out there that truly appreciate the business.

We love Times Square and heartily recommend it to others. I grew up surrounded by phenomenal Italian restaurants in New Jersey, and when we moved to AZ, we found many good ones, but most were quite expensive. Times Square has food comparable to those I grew up with, exceptional service, and what really puts it into our favorites list is that it is a reasonably priced "neighborhood" restaurant that you can feel comfortable going to with kids, family, and in casual clothes, and you will always have an excellent meal. Among our favorite dishes are the large Antipasto, Tortellini DAngelo, Veal or Chicken Parm, Pizza, Linguini with Clams, and many others. Weve never had a bad meal here. The only drawback to Times Square is that they have outgrown their building. We went there at 5:30pm last Saturday evening, and needed to wait 30 minutes for a table for 5. Go early, especially on weekends, youve been warned.

After a third visit -- and having grown up chowing through the amazing Italian restaurants of San Francisco, I can say with confidence that Times Square rocks! Last night I had the Linguini Principessa (shrimp & clams in creamy white garlic sauce) and it was perfect. It was one of those meals where you just cant believe how good it is. My dirty gin martini was lovely. My only nitpick was that the generous portion of garlic bread that came with the dish was not the excellent quality a rare few eateries are now serving in Phoenix. Im talking about the bread itself. My buddy had "Sausage and Pepper" with angel hair -- "Platter Sliced Italian Sausage sautéed with Bell peppers in a Marsala Wine Tomato Sauce" and was equally blown away. Service was excellent and I appreciate the mom and pop atmosphere ... theres always something dehumanizing (and, usually, low quality) about being fed by major corporations.
