Went Monday morning at 6:30am for Breakfast after looking for someplace other than IHOP on Yelp; was absolutely thrilled with everything we got. OBH has the comfortable feel of a "classic american diner" (very clean and bright, not dingy and old) but when you start eating the food, you realize the owner and chef are going above and beyond the "typical american diner" food. Just for starters; the orange juice is fresh squeezed... as in, "Oh look over there, you can see them squeezing the juice I am about to drink from a crate of oranges". For citrus snobs (like myself) youre next question is probably: "Yea but how ripe were the oranges?" because you know just because you juice an orange by hand doesnt guarantee good juice. Dont worry, the juice was fantastic. Rich, a little tiny bit pulpy and with a deep orange flavor not washed out/unripened or sour taste. Did I mention you get 1 free refill on the juice to boot? Didnt expect that at all... we go to Old Town a lot for breakfast where a thin glass of juice will set you back $5; not only is OBH fresh-squeezing this stuff but also giving you an awesome amount of it. (If youve never squeezed your own oranges you might not appreciate how much work it is to get a large volume of juice out of oranges; it can take a bag full just to get a small pitchers worth). Next was the coffee. Kelly (our peach of a waitress) brought the pot over to leave on our table and said "Oh our coffee is really good" -- I didnt think much of it as Ive roasted my own beans, been through a few cappuccino machines (Jura and Rancilio) and am generally a coffee snob. Given that, I was totally surprised when sure enough, the coffee WAS excellent... it is a very smooth blend, almost no acidity or bite and just had a very easy rich flavor. I threw some cream and sugar in it and it was absolutely wonderful. So now we get to the food, my wife and I ordered: * (Me) 5 egg-white scramble w/ home fries and white toast * (Wife) French toast special w/ sausage The serving sizes are generous; I would put it on par with something like Cracker Barrel where your meal shows up and you go "Oh crap, that is a lot of food"; you absolutely feel like you are being taken care of. The food was FANTASTIC. The owner and the chef are doing what I would describe as "Classic American Breakfast++" -- meaning all the classics and originals you would recognize, but done with extra TLC that makes the restaurant that much more memorable and delicious. For example, the bread you get with your meal isnt crap bread from the super market; it is artisan bread from a local bakery that they chop into thick, soft, toasted slices that melt butter perfectly. The jam that comes with your toast isnt Smuckers in little packets; it is a custom jam from a small company out of Tucson, AZ (like a fruit compote) The french toast is DEEP FRIED... do you realize how tasty this is? Its like a funnel cake, cinnamon role and big piece of artisan bread all had a baby and then it was deep fried with an egg wash and covered in butter and syrup... its amazing. These little touches of excellence are all over the menu and make all the difference. For a brand new place that just opened up (~3 months ago) OBH seems to be doing everything right and I doubt it will be much longer until this is that breakfast place you swing by on a Sat or Sun morning and there is a 30min wait. We already saw a handful of regulars that were known by name come strolling in. Well likely go back soon to give lunch a try, but as far as breakfast is concerned we were thrilled.

This place seemed to be a fairly typical breakfast place albeit privately owned. The service was pretty good and the staff seemed to be pretty sociable. They were also pretty accommodating for any of our needs. Location is easy to get to with an entrance to the lot on either 32nd Street or thunderbird (its tucked into the corner). I tried a chorizo burrito when I went as chorizo is one of my favored morning foods. However, the burrito itself seemed to be sub-par as far as breakfast burritos go. However, unlike the standard breakfast restaurant, they squeeze their own orange juice. So rather than getting a tiny glass of Tropicana for 4 dollars with no refills, you can instead get some fresh squeezed juice with a refill along with it. Location is alright, the staff seems nice, but food wasnt very impressive on its own. Might be worth a try for you.

Great service, good food. Stopped by for Sunday brunch and the place was packed as usual. The waiting area had an awning and free bottles of water, which was a great start. The wait staff was very attentive and the owner stopped by to see how things were going. The atmosphere was very family friendly and overall a nice place. All Top notch. But the food was just okay. Portions are huge so you certainly wont leave hungry, but the cinnamon roll was somewhat bland. The hash browns, by admission of the owner, were made without seasoning so the diner could season to taste. My omelette was very good but the wifes pancakes and french toast were just okay. We might go back for lunch but it will be an occasional place for us to visit at best.

The gravy that was used on the chicken fried steak was Bland, and void of all flavor. The texture was akin to eating two tablespoons of flour with a teaspoon of water in it. Absolutely disappointing. The steak had no seasoning, and did not give the impression that the cook bothered to taste what he was preparing to serve to the customers. I would avoid this place at all cost. A colleague of mine order the chorizo tacos.by the end of the meal the flour tortillas were remnant of saltine crackers. Disgusting. For $95 for breakfast for four people including the juice, which by the way was watered down and full of Pulp, it was a waste of money. I left feeling totally disappointed.

First and foremost the place looks horrible. The tables are incredibly cramped together and it looks as though it is in sore need of remodeling. Secondly the staff seems to not be very well organized. We never even had an opportunity to taste the food. When we arrived it was a 10 minute wait for a table. We ended up waiting much longer and when we were finally called to take a seat we had just sat down in the booth when the host came up to us and let us know that the booth we had been seated in was reserved for another party and we were told to wait for another to open up. Needless to say we just left at that point. I will not be returning.

This is a highly rated spot in Phoenix. I do agree to some point, but not entirely. Went with a friend on a Sunday morning. That is a very busy time and you will wait for a table. It was summer and hot outside for waiting. Inside was not much better. It was crowded and obviously the AC could not keep up. My friend and I were both sweating. Not much fun when youre out eating. The food all looked great. As for me I got the biscuits and gravy and was disappointed. The biscuits were heavy and the gravy was too thick and chunky. Just my opinion, others may like it that way. If you dont care for crowded, you probably wont like it.
