I know this place is in the airport so you expect it to not be great while at the same time being too expensive, but I was sadly disappointed in this place. I had a single Patty burger with fries and a soda. My total was $13. For that price I will be comparing them to five guys burgers and fries. First, the bun was chewy and sweet. Weird. When I ordered I asked how they cook their parties. She said medium well. So I asked if they would cook it medium rare or if medium well is just how they do it. She said they would be happy to cook the burger to order. The. It came out well done. Listen. Five Guys doesnt offer to cook it to order and if you ask they just say strait up that they dont do that. Dont tell me youll cook to order and the ignore me. The fries were certainly frozen. The burger I had was only about one hair better than McDonalds. Probably a good grade below Whataburger (which at Whataburger this meal would have been about $7.00). And 3 full grades below Five guys.

Modern Burger is located between gates A4 and A5. The service is reasonably fast but not instantaneous. The burger and prices are about the level of a Shake Shack (better but more expensive than an In-N-Out). A plain hamburger and fries totals to just under $10. The ingredients tasted fresh and well-cooked. The small but satisfying pouch of fries arrived warm and seasoned. The meal comes in a small brown bag, which could be great for rushing to your next gate. Seating in the area is limited and not especially luggage-friendly. Seating for groups greater than two people is not available, although you could stand.

I recently flew out of Sky Harbor airport and stopped at this burger stand, I thought $7.50 for a double cheese burger was a good price for airport food. Not only was it a good price, the burger and fries were the best damn burger I have had in a long time. The food here took me back to old fashion diner food, it was amazing. The only complaint I have is that it is inside the terminal, I have to have a plane ticket to eat here again. Although, this may be an option just to eat there again

BEST burger of my life - crazy as it sounds! Had cheeseburger with well done bacon, no sauce. Fries are awesome too! Friendly service & clean. Looking forward to a layover here in the future. Bring Modern Burger to Portland, Oregon!!!

Simple but very solid burger - kind of similar to Five Guys in terms of beef and bun, but beef patty is thicker. I would visit here again even if this was not in an airport, and needless to say, next time I want a meal in PHX.
