The staff here were great! Joe was easy to talk to when suggesting what I should order. Not what I was expecting when pulling up to The Stand. From the outside, it seemed too hidden and a little shady with the high wood screens sheltering the outdoor eating area. However, when entering, it was bright, clean and airy. A little on the small side. It may be a nightmare to try and eat in on a weekend. But totally worth the wait on those busy days! First, I tried my shortrib taco with Pico de Gallo. Delicious! Small but excellent compliment to my perfectly stacked burger with grilled onions! The burger even stayed together when eating it. So, I finished everything, burger, fries, and taco. Stuffed! Even with eating all my food I didnt feel greased out. Thats a good thing. One surprising thing was the people that work there came out to where I was eating to ask if everything was alright and if I needed anything. They do that for all their visitors. Not usual for a burger joint, but Im glad they did! Nice touch Joe! Next time I visit, I will still have the burger but ask for more house sauce in it, along with trying the remaining items on the menu. 5 stars for service, environment and presentation. 4 stars because my burger could have been better with more sauce and a less toasted bun. What can I say..... Im saucy! Nice job Joe! I will return just for your great service. PS. Theres a drive thru!

Ive been wanting to review this great little place for some time but never found the time until now. Let me start the review by starting with the owner (name omitted for privacy reasons)... Ive met her several times while ordering, eating and I can only say the atmosphere and attitude of the employees most certainly reflects her wonderful demeanor. All things good start from the top and and I love seeing her when I go in because her glowing personality is contagious! Now, on to the food - While the menu is short and to the point I always get "The Standard", which is their burger with cheese and I order the fries and Ice Tea. Everything is made in house, fresh and done daily. The hamburgers are the tastiest Ive had and beat everyones (in my opinion). I wont stoop so low as to even compare them to the oily, bun greasy hamburgers from In-N-Out as that would do a dis-service to The Stand. The eating areas are quaint and you can choose from indoors or a nicely covered and cooled patio (that is very cool even in the summer) that is pleasant and makes eating with friends or co-workers a joy! While I have never had the tacos, my co-workers have and rate them high as well. This place is a must go and I dont see any reason why they cant grow to be a dominant force in the Phoenix market.

Ive been through the drive-thru twice now. The first time I ever went was on my way home from work, late at night, searching for something that was open and conveniently on the way. It seemed so unassuming and I never had even considered stopping before-now Im so glad that I have! The first time through I got TheStandard, no cheese, no alterations and a side of fries. I dont know if it was hunger but I swore that was the best burger and fries Ive had in ages. The fries were super hot, crispy and seasoned in the yummiest mixture of spices. SO GOOS. I was craving it again and went through, this time around noon but my experience wasnt as great. I added jalapenos and grilled onions to The Standard, ordered the fries and a side of stand sauce. This time it cost me around $10 total because of all of the additions and I dont think it was really worth it. The fries were a little soggy and not as generously seasoned as the previous time and the burger was a little greasier and messier to eat. The stand sauce cost extra and it wasnt anything to die for, though it was good. Next time Ill stick to the regular and hope for crispier fries...and get a shake Ive been hearing raves about.

The burgers are amazing, the frys taste great even if they are not as crispy as I usually like them, and the shakes are amazing too. The staff is friendly and attentive. The only things that kill me are the wait and the accuracy. First, the wait. Going inside the wait seems fine, but man oh man the drive through. Three cars in between you ordering and the window seems like an eternity. Sometimes I can get through a YouTube video or two before I get a hold of my burger and fries. Second, the accuracy. My wife has had to resort to ordering her burger plain just so she doesnt get one topping she is allergic to, onions. This was after a particularly bad streak of getting them a few times in a row. Other than that my burger comes out without a few of the extras I order from time to time. If you want a good burger, arent picky about what is on it, and have the time to come in and have a seat. This place is for you.

In town to visit a friend and they recommended The Stand to us. Walking in we were immediately greeted by staff who smiled and were very courteous. We each ordered a burger and a milkshake then found a table to wait for our food. The milkshake was phenomenal. Like drinking custard out of a straw. Our burgers were very juicy and rich with flavor. One of my favorite parts of the experience was the customer service. When we asked if they offered a military discount, they said yes. The military discount was 20%, one of the highest weve ever gotten anywhere. We were shocked to say the least. Weve been staying in town for a while now, and The Stand still sticks out in my mind as one of the best places to eat here so far. Very pleased with our experience.

I love The Stand. Love. Everything about it. Best beef, fresh, genuinely friendly, innovative, quality. Shakes are stunning. Love built into every bite. Tiny little beautiful square charming building. I love you. I bring all my out-of-towners to see you and eat. But have to say, Im deeply and utterly disappointed. How could you guys desert your original family of believers, your steadfast customers at your original location? We are your people. How could you just pack up your sumptuous street tacos and finger-licking street corn and leave your most loyal ones empty? Srsly. Did we not help you build and validate your success? And you cheat on us by taking your best to North Scottsdale only? No soup for you.

Writing on behalf of my sister--she recently had a child diagnosed with Celiac disease which makes eating out a challenge. We heard that The Stand goes "above and beyond" in the area of accommodating this medically necessary gluten free diet. However, when she arrived to place an order they were out of the gluten free buns--and offered no special discount or apology for this major inconvenience. As a family adjusting to a major serious illness it was a huge disappointment. The Stand has great reviews--their food is amazing. But next time be mindful when customer service needs to be stepped up to deal with GF outages.

I stopped into The Stand for the first time today unaware that I was about to fill myself with one of the best burger and fries combos that has ever entered my mouth. Fresh. So fresh. The ingredients were top notch. Burgers prepared with skill and finesse. The fries...oh the fries...they were perfect. Thinly cut, but not too thin so they came out with the exact right amount of crispiness to them. Cooked and seasoned with a chefs masterful touch. An all around wonderful experience. The Stand has just made a customer for life.
