LATEST UPDATE 3/1/17: Year after year, the best Chinese food, hands-down. Unlike what another reviewer has stated, Chinese food is NOT the same everywhere you go. Big Bowl is good, healthy food, that tastes great and you get plenty for what you pay. Keep in mind you cant please everybody as everyone has different tastes. But also remember that Arizona recently upped its minimum wage and prices have gone up EVERYWHERE to accommodate that. UPDATE 1/25/16: Still the best place around. Their teriyaki wings are marinaded and then deep fried. Ask for a side of chili sauce to go with them, the wings are delicious with the hot sauce. As for someone saying the food was bland and not spicy all I can say is spicy and hot are very subjective; what I think is spicy could be someone elses unbearable. Keep that in mind and bring along your own favorite sauce if its important. Original Review: This place has great food and delivers which is awesome. If you have a special request, just ask, theyve always been accommodating to me when I ask for something non-standard like stir-frying the big bowl house fried rice (chicken, beef, pork, and shrimp) with hot chili oil to make the flavors pop. Its incredible! The owner, Allan, and his wife are always nice and genuinely care about your satisfaction with the food. You wont regret ordering from Big Bowl.

I recently had dinner here because a family member suggest we try it. I was extremely skeptical though because of the rundown appearance. The restaurant isnt the most aesthetically pleasing but its to be expected in a mom and pop shop. We ordered the shrimp with vegetable ( made extra spicy), the Orange chicken, and the snow white chicken with two taro bubble teas. I will say that although the service we received was exceptional the food was not. All of our dishes were bland to mediocre in flavor and the spicy element was non existent. The teas were hand made and had a very interesting flavor to them. Most boboa tea Ive had is flavorful, smooth, and creamy. The one I experienced here was watery, had clumps of powder, and was not impressive. I see all the wonderful reviews this place has but they are baseless compared to my own experience in the shop. Its very mediocre food.

The owner always says hello to me when I walk into the door. If you want something customized in your meal, just ask! The food is great and the portions are great too. When I come in I never wait long for my food. The owner himself brings you your food and drink. I like that he also doesnt bother me while Im eating. They also serve you with plastic disposable food ware. Now I know I wont be eating off a dirty fork.

We go here whenever we get a chance as we live on the other side of town..We love this place,the owners are friendly, the food is so good and the place is always spotless..they get As from the health department for their good operation of the restaurant..and the best of all they dont charge an arm and a leg for their food..please ,if youre ever around there and hungry go in and have a good meal..

Everything was so good. The crab Puffs especially were amazing. Very friendly on the phone, fast delivery. Their portions are very generous. My husband and I each ordered an entree, but we could have easily shared one entree between at least 2 people - I will have enough to take lunch to work for two days for sure. And everything was delicious. We will definitely be ordering again.

Saddened by the portions offered for the price. The food is the same old plain Chinese food as anywhere. Important to know is that all Chinese food is the same but cost. Shop around for a good cheap price. There are hundreds to shop from. This place is loaded with (I believe fake) A rating certificates all over the place. Boring, small portion, and high priced food.

This was my first time in, and the man at the register was incredibly nice and outgoing. He described the high quality of the food and really wanted to ensure we enjoyed it. We tasted it in the store before taking it to go and were extremely satisfied. The teriyaki chicken and lemon chicken were great. The dinner combo was filling.

Just little please has been open since I was in high school and that was a long time ago. The food is still good and taste just the same maybe the owners changed. But the quality and customer service has not. There always so friendly especially the old man he recognize you even if you havent been in a while. I love this place.

This place doesnt look like much from the outside but when I went inside to order I was greeted with a very friendly smile and a very well proportioned meal. Inside the restaurant was clean, smelled good and easy going environment. The food was very tasty and not oily. Ill be returning to check out the food again.

I go here frequently for fast Chinese food at a great price. The owners, man at the counter and his wife have been in this little shop for years. GREAT FOOD and GREAT PRICE. Go here for there lunch special: 2 won tons, 2 egg roll, and full plate of food, $7. You wont be disappointed. I promise.

I eat here several times a year, I wish I could eat here more often but my disabilities prevent it... The food has always been awesome, and excellent portion sizes. There is always enough for me to take home for a snack later. The people are caring and genuinely friendly

You really do get what you pay for, I wanted chinese food, I wanted delivery, and I didnt wanna pay a lot, this place to fill all 3 but the other thing I got that I didnt want was a night of throwing up and sitting on the toilet! Stay away from big bowl!!!

This place is awesome!! Moved to Mesa recently from the west valley and have been looking for a great Chinese restaurant. Ive found it here! Great tasting fresh food, friendly service and an intimate setting. I definitely recommend this place! :D

Food sucked, the chicken tasted undercooked. The noodles tasted like spaghetti covered in soy sauce. The food is overpriced. And when I called to complain. The guy that answered the phone and took my order and delivered the food hung up on me.
