I really wanted to give first watch a better review, because the inside was spacious and stylishly themed, and the menu had some uniquely prepared options. That said, several factors conspired to produce a lower rating. The staff were pleasant but unenthusiastic. When we arrived, there was nobody in the front to seat incoming guests, and several people were waiting in line to pay their bill. It took many minutes until someone poked their head out of the back to see the people amassing at the front, and then a bit longer for the two people to casually travel it to their posts--one still sipping their drink. Once we were seated and drinks were served, the employee dropped the straw destined for my cup onto the floor, and rather than discard it, he placed it back into his cache of straws and got me a new one from the same collection. Had this one also been dropped on the floor? Not that I really mind, since they were all wrapped, but it was a very lazy attempt at providing a "clean" straw. The tray for the drinks was awkwardly left at our table, which someone eventually picked up on their way by. Again, not a big deal, but it stood out because this sort of thing does not generally happen when we go out. While we waited for our food, our table was visited by some manner of unidentifiable insect. My other half said it fell from the ceiling, but it fell to me to crush it with a napkin and discard it. Maybe this isnt normal, but it was a noteworthy event in our visit and--again--does not generally happen when we go out. The food itself was adequate, which is really all we wanted. The portions were large, and my chorizo and avocado omellete was quite satisfying. That said, it was not mind blowing. No hint of "wow" and nothing we could not have made at home, though I likely would not have thought to do so. Overall, the place was OK. Not necessarily to be avoided if you are looking for something new, but there are many better options available.

We were looking for a place to eat that wasnt the same ol same ol and so we settled for First Watch. This location used to be the Good Egg I believe. I had been to the First Watch location out in Tuscon and was pleased with the quality ans was happy to learn that there was now a location near me. First Watch is known for their fresh and health conscious food and is only open for breakfast and lunch. After we were seated I ordered a coffee and my son an apple juice. The coffee was great and they leave the pot so you dont have to wait to get it refilled. I ordered off the seasonal spring menu, having the Croque Madame and my son ordered the eggs Benedict. Bothe were delicious and had more of a savory taste to them. The one issue I had was that it seemed that my dish had a little too much dijon mustard on it. The dijon is supposed to give it just a hint to elevate the taste of the dish. The amount on mine over powered the bite. Other wise it was a great breakfast and a great place to eat.

Very trendy with food that does not stack up. 4 people in our party. 2 of us ordered the special Pot Roast Hash, sold as "breakfast" more like lunch. Both plates were covered in a pot roast gravy. Couldnt taste the eggs and both plates had 2 small 1 inch pieces of pot roast and tons of potatoes and onions. Sold as a Pot Roast hash. Should have been advertised as potato and onion hash. $11 per plate. We even asked the waitress if the special was good over a few other selections and she heavily pushed the special. My mother in law had a ham and cheese omelet that had deli ham instead of real ham. The wife had another skillet that was mostly potatoes and hardly any eggs or other stuff. Should change the name to "Trendy over priced food" or "If you want to overpay for Potatoes." We do eat at tons of restaurants and for the money when we are in Phoenix, Mimis or the old Good Egg that was here previously is much better for breakfast. Wont be back.

The food was great but the customer service was horrible. I waited 5mins before anyone ever came to ask if my 2 children and myself would like something to drink. When she came she kept looking around as though she had more important things on her mind... I asked if the creamers could be removed because my kids were trying to play in them and she said sure but still left it there. I got my food In a timely manner though and it was really good. She didnt come back to see if I needed anything until after my kids had finished their food I would have loved another plate and a coffee with my meal. Everyone else working there pretty much ignored us as well. And when 2 people cut Infront of me to pay no one said a word... I am also a server so I know what good service is suppose to look like. I may try again without my kids see if it was just them being biased against a mom and her kids.

Not all change is good! Use to enjoy eating here when they were The Good Egg. We had never been to a First Watch so we had no idea how the two compared or what to expect. First they got rid of the gravy that my wife loved. Then they took the hash browns and finally on our latest visit (possibly last) they no longer offered their delicious protein whole wheat pancakes. Oh, lets not forget the bacon, they had the best, 4 thick delicious bacon. Now its two very thin strips of bacon that look like they came out of an Oscar Meyer package you buy at the grocery store. To top it off, it appears the price has also gone up, yet we get less food. I do have to say the service is still the same, friendly and courteous.

I had lunch at the First Watch, today, 83rd Ave and Glendale, Lunch was good, limited staff, table not cleared when we finished eating. Most disappointing was when my friend, who had purchased a beautiful sweater, first time to wear, was ready to leave and the sweater was snagged across the back due to the rough board on the backrest, of the booth we were sitting. We brought this to the attention of the mgr. who said she was sorry but could do nothing about it. Compensating only by a return visit and "free lunch". I do not feel this was handled professionally nor good publicity for future visits. I will not return.

First Watch is ruining The Good Eggs good name. I wanted to give good egg a chance after First watch took over and I was disappointed. After half hour wait, we were informed they switched oils to the first watch sprays such all have soy and not allergy friendly. For a place that claims they are good and healthy, using poor quality ingredients is unacceptable. They spent tons of money on the remodel which removed the horrible starting of good egg but now use cheaper and less healthy ingredients. Will never go back unless they change ingredients, again. First watch its terrible and us running Good Eggs good name
