Im very unhappy with the way my visit went today, Mothers day and my grandmothers birthday, we were here from about 6-7:45pm, our waiter was superb, my order got a little messed up, but he was very nice and had it remade very quickly and he was polite the entire meal. We brought a cake for my grandmother, which the manager said was absolutely fine, when we asked for plates the entire stack was dirty and some plates still had what looked like mashed potatoes on them. We asked the Restaurant General Manager to come look at them and she let out a huge exasperated sigh, completely uncalled for. She apologized for the dishes and took them away, not offering new plates, she then completely dodged us every time someone had a question. We had four separate tickets at our table and two were paid while the other two finished collecting our left overs. She stood there watching us the entire time as if making sure we werent stealing. When the last check went to be paid the same manager woman started yelling at our waiter, who again did nothing wrong, in front of the entire dining room. She yelled at him for not writing 1 out of 4, 2 out of 4 etc on the tickets, my mother got very upset that she was yelling at him in front of everyone and so she pointed out to the manager that it was already on the ticket in the format of 52-1,52-2 etc, which the manager agreed with. She then turned on my mother accusing us of stealing and claiming that not all of the tickets were paid. My mother was trying to explain that two were paid earlier and the manager would not listen and just kept saying she only had two out of four tickets and that we didnt pay, at this point my aunt went to her car and brought back in her receipt to prove she paid, which she shouldnt have had to do, there was no reason to accuse us of such a thing. We left and as we were sitting outside by our cars we seen her through the window yelling at the same waiter again in the dining room! I feel very bad for the employees here because with the way she treated customers, like we were an inconvenience, I cant imagine how poorly she treats her staff! Ive worked in the food service industry, I personally prefer it to other professions, I know how stressful and exhausting it can be but never should you treat staff in such a way or accuse people of stealing simply because you wont listen to what they are telling you! I think this woman needs to find a new job or she should be fired, at the very least she needs to be disciplined for such awful behavior! I will not be returning to this location and I will be telling friends of this woman and her entitled mistreatment of both staff and customers.

We decided to celebrate my mothers birthday and Mothers Day here. It was a special one for all of us as we almost lost her 2 months ago. It was our first time here and I had heard good things so we decided to try it out. Man, the dissapointment! First off I want to say that our waiter, Ryan, was great! We were a party of 12 and he was very nice and professional. He didnt mess up any of our orders or our drinks, which was a good surprise considering how big our party was. And with a party that big we had requests every time he came by. We were all impressed! The food wasnt bad for the price either. Now to the reason for the 1 star. The customer service by the resteraunt manager and the cashier was beyond atrocious! The resteraunt manager was the one to seat us. When she let us know our table was ready she was very curt and unwelcoming. We were given plates that were extremely dirty and when brought to the managers attention we were sighed at. However, we were given a free pie, not of our choice, for the inconvenience. One of our party had to leave before the rest of us so they went to pay but was ignored by the cashier. It wasnt until she said " would you like me to pay" that the cashier finally acknowledged her. I was the last to pay and as I was at the counter I over heard the manager make a comment that only 1 of our party had paid and was asking the cashier how many tickets there were for our table. I spoke up and told her 4. She acted like she didnt believe me because she kept asking over and over. Then finally brought the waiter over to "confirm" and when he repeated what I said she proceeded to reprimand him in front of us and other customers that he didnt write on the ticket 1 of 4, 2 of 4 and so on and that she has discussed this with him before because how is she supposed to know if all the tickets had been paid. At this point I am extremely upset because not only is she chewing the waiter out about whatever procedure publicly, she is implying that we were trying to run out on our tickets! When I looked down at the ticket I noticed that it said table 52/4. I asked her if that meant that there were 4 tickets to table 52 and she said yes! So if it says it right on the ticket, why was she making a scene about it?!?! I was not only appalled by the resteraunt managers behavior but also extremely embarrassed with the implication and scene she made about the whole thing. Needless to say we will not be going back to that resteraunt. And if asked, I will not recommend it either.

Usually we have great food and great service when we go for breakfast on Sundays but Saturday night was horrible. They were running the chicken fried steak dinner and my steak was dried out and even the gravy on top was crusty. The potatoes were cold and the biscuit was only a half each so it looked as if someone had been eating off it. What was even worse was the lady with the "service poodle or shitshu" who had her dog sitting on her lap eating off her plate and was even given a bowl of water for her dog to drink from. I asked to speak to the manager, who never bothered to come by. Upon leaving I found the manager who told me that he was too busy to come talk to me and said he didnt know about the dog eating off the dishes or being given water. Perhaps when a customer asks to speak to him, he should make time. He did take the bowl away but the whole experience was just "YUCK". Service dogs are usually sitting quietly on the floor under the table not eating off the same dishes that will be used for the next customer. Totally gross experience!!!

This is not an impassioned review. As a simple family restaurant of the Dennys, IHOP variety Village Inn ranks similar in quality. Menus are similar, but with an emphasis on pie. At this VI food has always been fine over the 10 years Ive been taking my mother. I often take my 96 year old mother. She does well with a consistant simple menu and a meal made of sides. Attentiveness of the servers varries inversly to how busy the restaurant is. Service tends to be slower when the reataurant is almost empty. It is best when things are hectic. In all the years Ive been taking my mother here I have never seen the mangers - cashiers - hosts dive in to help the wait staff. Maybe it is against corporate policy, but it is odd seeing them just standing around when the wait staff is harried and tables need cleaning. No matter what I will still keep taking my mother there. She likes it and tolerates the food well.
