I was so very disappointed today at lunch. I have been here several times and had great service. I was surprised today to have a server that couldnt have cared less about our service. He was very curt when we questioned him about menu items etc. At one point he turned his head and rolled his eyes in my direction. After we finished our meal I heard that there was a lunch special....why werent we told about it?? I asked him about the special and he said oh sorry I forgot to tell you. We sat for 30-40 minutes with empty glasses of water. We had to ASK for everything?? We just all felt like his lack of attention was very distasteful. Now on the other hand the food as always was good!! I would have liked to have had the fish and chips.. we will be back because I feel this is an isolated incident but he needs some customer training.

The concierge at the Four Seasons Hotel recommended Tonto. They are usually right, and this was no exception. Located about 15 minutes outside of Scottsdale in Cave Creek, the atmosphere was exactly what you want in the high Sonoran desert - peaceful and serene. The food was off the chart excellent. My wife had a pan fried trout special with German Potato Salad and lemon butter caper sauce, which was prepared with Oktoberfest in mind. I had Skillet-Seared Scallops with Orange-Tamarind Glaze, Hand-Picked Saguaro Fruit Vinaigrette, Quinoa Salad of Heirloom Tomatoes, Sphinx Ranch Dates & Nopales. Best scallops Ive ever had. Our server was able to guide us to the perfect Tequila to complement our meals - Clase Azul. I Look forward to dining here again.

Never again will we go to this resturant!!! We just left this poorly run resturant. 72 hours ago we made an 8 oclock reservation to celebrate a family birthday. Upon our arrival we waited till 8:55 and was never seated!! We finally had to leave to find other arrangements. The staff never attended to us and instead on multiple occasions commented that they needed to attend to other guests. By the time we left many tables were empty and they explained these couldnt be used for our group..The staff and management is rude and totally unaccommodating!! Good luck if you choose this location for a special evening!!

We have been going here for years and loved it. Last night it was awful. Service was good, food was terrible. Prime rib sandwich had hardly any meat, and the meat it did have was shriveled and old. Cowboy Cobb salad was small and toppings were scarce. Ordered a loaf of bread for a table of 4 for 3.75$, it was not big enough for 1 person! About 4in long and 1in wide. Are you kidding me? They had blurry plastic around the porch so you couldnt even enjoy the beautiful view. So disappointing.....spoke to manager and he was very nice. Invited us back to rectify the situation. Will definitely give then another chance.

This is the place to bring out of town visitors set on the rancho manana golf course in cave creek it is the picture perfect setting for a meal, I sat out on the patio overlooking the golf course and was amazed at the food offerings I started with the corn chowder which could have been a meal itself than I had the BLT revival which was truly amazing a sandwich stuffed full of bacon, tomato, watercress, avocado and aioli. The portions are so big and delicious you will not leave hungry. It is definitely worth the drive to cave creek.

I have brought plenty of friends here, but never again. The hostess was rude, the service sucked and the food was greasy. The Prickly Pear Margarita was good but thats about the only thing that was good. They seem to forget that for most folks this is a destination restaurant and there are plenty of really good ones for the money closer to home. You can have my chair...I am done. Plus, I left a generous tip, but my card was charged more than the cost of the meal.

Hands down a local and visitors favorite. The atmosphere and views are terrific. If you have the chance to sit on their big patio, do it! It is so lovely out side. My favorite appetizer is the ahi tuna roll. The dressing they serve with it is addicting! Happy hour anyone? Try the Tontorita! You will not be disappointed. Service has always been top notch as well. Come for a special occasion, bring visitor from out of town or drop in any time for a terrific experience.

Stopped by here on the way back from Cave Creek Stables. The decor was great but the ambience was a bit flat (people must eat early lunch because at 1:30pm, the place was dead). Service was very fast and portions were good. Only issue is that they completely messed up our order and gave my wife the gluten free option instead of the vegan (so the salad had cheese when she is lactose intolerant). Otherwise was the food was good.

Been coming here for many years. Awesome atmosphere. The staff seems over-worked much off the time, so service is sometimes poor but mostly okay, but never spectacular. Food: usually very good, occasionally excellent, occasionally just fair. Have experienced a few major screw-ups over the years. Carefree Station does everything Tonto wants to do only better. Our family will continue going to both.

We enjoyed a quiet, relaxing anniversary dinner in the bar at Tonto Bar and Grill. We were seated right in front of the fireplace and enjoyed its warm on the cold evening in the desert. We both ordered the walleye dinner and were not disappointed. It was served with vegetables and we had several drinks toasting to our anniversary.

The Tonto Bar and Grill is a true value in the restaurant business. This is not to say it is inexpensive, but for the quality of the food and service, I consider Tonto a great value. Extremely well managed with staff that has been there for years. We judge all other restaurants as they compare to Tonto. What more can I say?

There are no disappointments at Tonto Verde, from their golf experience to the dining, its always an enjoyable place to entertain family and friends. Play their 18 hole putting course at no charge, or play a round of golf and then pull up a chair on the Patio and have a glass of wine some lunch and take in the view.

Had one of the most memorable and delicious meals in a long time! Fresh and tantalizing flavors! I absolutely loved the heirloom tomatoe gazpacho, house salad and the GF chicken tacos! The GF chocolate cake and coconut sorbet was just enough to satisfy our need for something sweet. The food was simply exceptional!

Visiting from Los Angeles for Christmas. Very disappointed. Mediocre food and terrible service. Bus boys clearing plates before everyone was finished eating. Pretty expensive for just ok food. WE will never go back. My sister lives here and she wont go back either. Too many other really good places to eat.
