I ordered the chicken salad on a croissant. I was surprised at how small it was. It was not a normal sized croissant. They had toasted the croissant, which is fine, but it tasted of old, rancid oil. Nasty. It came with the one side and that was it. The two items seemed lost on the oval platter. I would have ordered the garden salad but all that came in that was tomato, carrot and cheese. That is it. This is the typical salad for the area, it seems. Ugh. The only place around here where I have been able to get a decent salad is at Panera Bread. I would not recommend this place. Take the extra time and drive to Tuscaloosa. Or just stay at home and make your own sandwich.

This local restaurant has its own unique southern flair. On the bank of the Alabama River, the porch is a nice way to relax, unwind and enjoy the view. Their bleu chicken breast sandwich and monte cristo sandwich are superb and they have the best sweet potato fries on the planet! Ive never had anything there that I didnt like!

I dont mind a little grease on Southern cooked food but this place makes Waffle House look good. We were glad that two waitresses were able to squeeze us into their demanding smoke break schedules. We got our drinks after the food was served. On a good note, the bacon is crispy and the tea is sweet.

Excellent place with authentic southern ambience and interior. For me, a person from the North, it was a unique exotic experience. And of course the food was good, the staff friendly and fried green tomatoes absolutely amazing.
