When I called ahead for my party of 12, the restaurant told me that they dont do call ahead seating, that it was first come, first serve and that they were very busy. They were quite rude on the phone but I said, ok, Ill come right away. When I arrived, I noticed that they were not busy at all, contrary to what they told me, and that they had at least half of their dining room open. I asked for a table for 12, that my party was on its way but they would not seat me until my whole party arrived. I wish they had not told me they were busy, which was false, and I wish they had not been so rude. I also wish they had explained in my initial phone call that they dont seat people ahead of their parties so I wouldnt have wasted a trip driving to reserve a space for my party. I drove down the road to Tipico de Mexico and they seated me right away and were extremely good to us. I wont be back to Ixtapa.

Not too many restaurants in Cecil or Pike Road so after what seems like an all day experience to do errands at Eastchase, arriving home with a huge, luscious dinner was a superb treat. While shopping at Petland, I saw this restaurant and having heard it was good, decided "why not get something to go...I never treat myself plus my arm is broken so why do one arm, frozen, yuck cooking again?" My order was ready in less than 10 minutes. The food and service was EXCELLENT. Im assuming that the owner/manager that assisted me with my order and he was very nice and kind. One never arrives back in Pike Road/Cecil area with hot food (ever) BUT IT WAS DELICIOUS EVEN AT ROOM TEMP. With every bite it was OMG! SO GOOD! Thank you Ixtapa! Yall try #27! Its so, so good! Best Mexican food Ive eaten since I was in Scottsdale, AZ and their Mexican food is to die for. Ill be back! Prayers for Elena..God Bless.

Absolutely terrible. When we sat down at about 6:45 we asked the younger host that brought the chips and salsa if there was a happy hour and he turned to our server named LEO and Leo said there isnt a happy hour on Thursday so we browsed the menu to find a drink and appetizer. Then while sitting waiting for our server being out food, get drink refills and go to other tables we see on the tv that it advertised happy hour until 7 oclock. So when our waiter finally came over and I told him that there is happy hour he said well he cannot do anything because the computer cuts off happy hour price at 7 ... then got an attitude because he was busy and cannot even do anything about it at this point. I just asked to speak with the manager then left.... worst experience and I will not be dining there again.

I enjoy Ixtapa every month or two. I had lunch there about 3 weeks ago. Last week I noticed a draft on my account for the same amount again- they charged me again, two weeks after my lunch. I talked with them today about getting it fixed. They said I would need to wait 30 days? Im going to give it a few days and see if they have made any progress. I hope that then they will handle this quicker- I like the food and hope I dont have to tell everyone I know not to eat there. Oh, by the way, they told me that this happened to everyone who ate there that day- well over 100 people.

Please PLEASE dont ever go to this restaurant. I went to this restaurant this weekend and ordered a fajita; NOT only did it take them almost 45 minutes for it to come to my table, but while I was eating, I found a piece of hard plastic in my food!! When I went to the manager about it, his exact words were "It happens! This will not be the first time. We buy our food from vendors, and the food comes pre-wrapped in plastic so this is not unusual. He DID NOT ONCE apologize to me!" This restaurant does not have good service, and its very risky taking a chance eating here!

My wife and I went to Ixtapas in East Chase tonight (July 6th, 2012). Food was good, service was great. But there was a group of 4 3 or 4 booths from us that was so loud and rowdy that my wife and I couldnt enjoy our meal in fact our server couldnt hear our order. It was not a family, it was 4 adults not teenagers. Even though its a family resturant and you expect a certain leave of noise, excessive loudness from nearly intoxicated customers crossed the line.Tonight was our last dinner at that location. We like to have a quiet meal out, and that is not the place.

Will not be back! All the waiters look like they are miserable to be at work. Our waiter didnt listen to any of our food orders, didnt even bring my brother his food. The man thought he didnt order...i was also told i couldnt adjust my order that it would be a $5 charge. The place is cloudy from being smoked. Just overall not satisfied mainly because of the server.

Ive been coming here since 2009 and have never had a bad experience. My food usually comes out very quickly. I usually get the choriqueso (dip) or the regular cheese dip, tacos de carne asada, and I order a side of sour cream and guacamole on the side. Great place and people have always been friendly to me.

This is a place we keep coming back to again and again when we get the craving for Mexican. I know there are other restaurants that are more preferred, but its a place we enjoying returning to. You can get in and out at lunch or linger at dinner and the food is consistently solid.

Horrible service waited for 5 minutes nobody came to my table, I had to get up call a waiter they were too busy taking each other 3 waiters plus the hostess and I asked why everyone ignored me and they didnt say anything thing shame,,, shame....shame

Great place, being a vegetarian it was really surprising to see that they will not modify the plates. All I wanted is a chimichanga but they refused to do so. They only have a limited items for us. Everything else was great.
