If I could give it less than one star, I would. I came here with my husband and our 3.5 year old son just to get something to eat. I ate in an Indian restaurant only a few times before and it wasnt bad at all. Despite the fact that my husband is not a big fan of Indian cuisine, we decided to give it a try. We ordered chicken tenders for my son and some lamb and vegetable biryani (rice with veggies). They brought chicken tenders for our son pretty fast, within 10 minutes or so. But they didnt bring anything else. So, my little one ate the chicken with nothing else. He was able to finish his food entirely (and he eats pretty slow) and then we had to wait for quite some time until they brought us the rest of the order. We waited probably around 30-40 min for the rest of the order. I must say that their food is extremely overpriced. Everything that you order comes with nothing on the side. For my son there were 5 chicken tenders, which were pretty good, but with nothing else on a plate. Any side dish, potatoes or rice or veggies, you have to order separately. Five pieces of chicken (these were on the Appetizer menu) were priced at $8.95. The lamb that we ordered was ridiculously over priced. There were only about 5 relatively small pieces of meat in a bowl with a lot of sauce. The lamb also came with nothing else and was priced at $17.95. A bowl of vegetable biryani, which is basically just basmati rice with a few cooked veggies like carrots and beans were priced at $15.95. We also took a bottle of water and when we got the check we found out that it is priced at $5 (!). We asked not to bring us anything spicy, but the rice they brought was not mild at all, as the waiter said, it was too spicy for us and we couldnt eat it. The lamb was Ok and we just took it with us home. So, we paid around $34 for food and we left hungry. Perhaps, it would have been Ok if the place would look nice and it would be pleasant to be there. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Everything looked very cheap and old and not clean. The bathroom where I went to wash my hands prior to eating was tiny. Another woman could not open the door and get out from the stall because I was there washing my hands. Everything was ridiculously cramped. So we left hungry with a small box of lamb and a receipt for $34. The lamb by itself would not be enough for an adult. Despite the fact that we were hungry, we didnt want to order anything else cause we didnt like the place and hurried to get out of there.

Portions are small for the price. They seem to recycle food. Day 1 - If saag paneer is made, the next day they will have saag alu... Paneer needs to be more FRESH and SOFT. Not hard and chewy. Needs to be like malai like India. Please use better quality paneer. Raita, onion, chili, lemon and pickle should be ready and not need to ask everytime. It should be complimentary. Onion should be red onion not white onion in Punjabi food. If a customer asks to get two of the same sides, you should honor it. They force the person to take different sabzi. Lassi is very average, just yogurt and sugar with frothed liquid. Being a Punjabi place, they should offer truly amristari lassi or so with malai. Naan is ok, but when servers bring out, the naan is touching the table!! come on - where is cleanliness? Need to make naan softer and like india, where it has butter on it. Need to invest in sturdier furniture and ambience so people can eat peacefully without feeling squished. Hope these suggestions help you make a better business. You are doing good but can do better!

This is a go to for lunch for me as I work a block away. Im highly picky about my Indian food so admittedly Im harsh. I have tried a number of the fast serve lunch special Indian spots in the neighborhood. This is the best around. Firstly the veg/non-veg options are balanced out nicely. Try the channa masala or dal makani. Avoid the palak paneer, despite being a favorite dish of mine, you never actually get any paneer on your plate. The chicken curry, chicken makani (butter chicken) and vindaloo are all good, maybe not stand out good, but certainly consistent. This all should have only earned this place 3 stars as it is not THAT impressive. Until you have the naan. The naan here is fresh, buttery and near perfect. This is something NONE of the fast serve Indian joints around there can say

Cool Venue to see a Concert. Small and intimate for shows, which I like. I was a bit annoyed when I was taken to my seat, by a host, then had another one come tell me I had to move, I was in the wrong spot. (THEY SEATED ME) They were standing over me rushing me to move. Then After I paid the bartender, and was ready to move, they noticed I was only suppose to be one seat over from where I was originally seated. Even the bar tender felt bad, and gave me a free glass of wine. A glas of wine was about $12 which I thought was a bit high.. But its NY and it was a show, so I guess it is to be expected. All in all, it was a nice place. I enjoyed the show, and would come back for more musical events.

Worst food, worst service. Food served in paper dish, which restaurants serve food in paper dish??!!! No enough napkins. Quantity of food too less, compared to other good restaurants. Worst garlic naan ever eaten, Kadai panner had just panner cubes with no gravy at all. Brought roasted papad, while i ordered Masala Papad. Didnt serve complementary rice or dal, which is usually served. Served only after asking. People, dont waste money at least if you want real Punjabi Indian Cuisine. Being Indian, i have tasted really good punjabi in other restaurants.

Worst food. Warmed in microwave. Does not even have warm water.. **Update ** when complained to the staff about the food, she offered Malaise kofta and 2 no answer for free. We had ordered spicy Navrayna korma. We got some mixed veg that were made in the morning for buffet, and she added some red chili to make it spicy. We were not happy with the food but staff tried to make it right by offering replacement food which we declined and she decided not to charge for the food we ordered. So we like the staff but not the food.

My 1st ever trip to US was made memorable when I had my 1st dinner at Tandoor place on the day I arraived in NYC, I never missed a chance to visit this place or order food at work! what ever you eat (Veg or Non-Veg) everything tastes so good you fall in love with this food! believe me you wont regret going here.... dont go by the looks of the restaurant, it may be little cramped up... but that taste!!! I dont mind a take away if there is no place ;) Say hi to the Sardar Uncle if you visit next time!

My husband & I ordered from here last night (8/8/14). I believe its definitely worth the visit. The food is flavorful! Spices were very much to my liking with the perfect amount of "heat". I truly enjoyed the chicken vindaloo, vegetable biryani & channa masala. For the record, the vegetable biryani was an order large enough for 2-3 people and delicious enough to be eaten solo. I cant wait to explore other options if standards are this great.
