So I had very high expectations because of the reviews I read here. The food is good no doubt but not as amazing as everyone made it sound. I had 4 street tacos: one carne asada, one chicken, one al pastor and one carnitas. All of then were good but the "al pastor" taco was by far the best; the marinade and meat were excellent! Place is definitely janky. I was bothered by the cook when I walked in because he was eating chips and salsa while cooking. Not sure how sanitary that is but I had already ordered so I took a leap of faith. Aside from the al pastor taco, overall the food is good, not excellent, and the environment is typical of a mom and pop mexican eatery. I paid $10.80 for 4 street tacos, rice, beans and a small drink. Decent price but wasnt worth it for me.

Yummmyyy, El Habanero makes my favorite street tacos in OC. The street tacos are the 99 cent ones, the ones in the 2 dollar range are much larger and intricate. The place looks a bit dirty, old, janky and rundown but the staff that works here is VERY nice. Be warned there is a bit of a language barrier when you order but eventually we were able to get our order in correctly and she was very patient with us. They PRESS their own tortillas, right there. How awesome is that? I also love the salsa bar and free chips nom nom. Dont be afraid of the hot salsa as its really just a medium heat, and very tasty Really recommended if you like street style tacos. The carnitas was to die for!

Very poor service. Food is alright. I dont know about authentic mexican tho.. I literally canceled my main course because it was just taking for ever to get my plate..luckily my son got his two sopes and my daughter got her plain taco. By the time they finished, my food was not even getting prepared yet. So I just canceled my order, paid and left. Never coming back.... Tip: Go to this place only if you have patience to wait a long time. Put it like this, I had to get up and grab our drinks from the cooler because they were never brought to us..

Se tardan demasiado, no hay donde uno escoja los tipos de salsa, y cuando se la dan son bien poquiteros, y lo mas principal El Menudo todo grasoso y muy poco ponen. Primera y ultima vez en ese lugar :-(

This restaurant is small in size but large in mouth-watering taste....Wow !! I took my wife here today for the first time and had an excellent experience. We ordered carnitas tacos, and the tacos de pescado, and they were excellent !!! You have got to go there. The chile is great, but a little picoso for my wife, and I throughly enjoyed it !! We are definately going back soon and we are bringing our friends !!

well first of all 2nd time I went here first had a bad esperiance 2+ yrs ago, so just decided to forget about it and now I went back I got a ckn fajita on the menu online it says 8.99 ya so not 8.99 its actually $13 which was so not worth the price yes overall good but a ckn fajita for $13 come on its ckn and vegetables wow!!! not happy I told the girl at the cash register she said she didnt know !

I wasnt so convinced by the outside, very hesitant before walking in. Once inside we were greeted very well. Very friendly and great customer service. I am very picky with my mexi an food as I want everything to taste the way my grandma or mom would make it, and this place hit the spot. Everything was so fresh and tasteful; my husband and I could not put our fork down. I highly recommend this place

They were awful they forgot about my order. I waited watched people eat and leave and they completely forgot and bad customer service the customers always right especially if you make them wait for 45minutes. No excuse The people waiting for there food before I got there left posses off also we come in grab food to go it shouldnt take 45minutes

The BEST Mexican food restaurant in Orange County! Ive tried the almost the entire menu and you really cant go wrong with anything you order. My favorites are the fish tacos, huaraches with pastor (marinated pork), anything with shrimp, and to drink the Chia, lemon, and pepino (cucumber).

Cooks are great and consistent. Have not had one bad dish here. The food has a very authentic taste and reminds me of home. Giving four stars because service is slow during lunch hour, due to crowding. Otherwise, great little place!

Walked in on a late monday morning and got a 4 dollar chorizo breakfast burrito. I was immediately seated and given a basket of perfectly salted chips and a mild bowl of salsa. I knew this was a good choice.

Homey, fonda style grub. Plates take a bit to arrive but its made to order. The lengua and cabeza are delicious. Hand made tortillas as well.
