Inexpensive, quick, conveniently located near Union square/shopping in the SF Westgate Shopping mall next to the Powell BART station (lower level). All the gluten free soups are clearly marked. Ive never been sick from eating there. Its really nice to be able to go out shopping and then stop for a quick, tasty, and safe bite to eat. Mostly I just get the tortilla soup. Its not the best tortilla soup ever but still really tasty and filling. Basically exactly what I need when Im out and about.

In the new shopping center by city target, this food court has a great selection overall. If youre looking for a quick bite with quality ingredients and healthy options, San Francisco Soup Company is a good spot to try. Quite a variety in sandwiches and soups - but Id recommend sticking with the soups personally. All of the chowders are the best, in my opinion.

Ordered a self-composed salad, and when I asked to add avocado, the person only gave me less than a quarter of a tiny avocado, but charging me $1 for it. Watching her cut that tiny slither of avocado up was so ridiculous, that I dont know if I want to laugh or cry. I asked her about it, and she just said "yeah"..

They have a nice variety of soups and fun menu combinations. The menu is user friendly showing vegetarian soups, etc.. The service could be a little bit better in terms of helpfulness and quickness. A couple of times when Ive come the staff have been in their own worlds ignoring me and other customers.

pumpkin soup is great, so is the split pea & the tortilla & tomato. i like pretty much all the veg. options here. really nice staff. seems really clean.

Poor meat variety - almost all soups - chicken. Ethiopian Chicken Stew I got wasnt any good. Wet trays, slow service.
