I can not describe with adequate words how fantastic the bbq was. The Creator of Famous Daves BBQ has done it again. This time it was bbq the way it was meant to be: A small quaint, cozy environment with great down home bbq. I had a Pulled Pork Sandwich with a bunch of toppings (It was like a Chipotle Line). The Baked Beans were by far the best I have ever had (pulled pork and hot link sausage mixed in), and the corn bread muffin tops went above and beyond my expectations. Other members of my party had the chicken, and although I didnt get to try the ribs, they looked like a brick of golden goodness. Finally, The owner (Dave Anderson) was in the restaurant sitting gracefully and talking with customers who recognized him. I had the chance to tell him...and I hope you get the chance as well that his bbq is "Two Thumbs Up Fantastic" Stop by...YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

Ate there tonight (a Friday). At 6pm they were out of ribs and 1/2 chicken meals. It took forever (~25 minutes from when we walked in until we had our meals) to place our order and there was only 1 person in front of us. Staff was incredibly slow and inefficient - never seen anything quite like this before. By the time we got our food it was cold. The only reason Im giving this 3 stars is because the brisket was very good (albeit cold), otherwise this would be a 1 star review. Also, the restaurant was VERY cold - we ate in our winter jackets. Undecided if we will go back just in case this was an "off" night. When we got in the car I said "well that was an interesting dining experience" and there was a lot of laughter!

We were really excited about trying this place but have mixed feelings about it. With a group of 7 people 5 felt the food was good, one was nothing special and one was not good. There were multiple sharp bones in the chicken. What really made an impression though was the service. Only one of the wait staff was semi pleasant. The rest gave the impression they would rather be any where else but there...including two employees stationed right next to each other that appeared as though it was taking great restraint to not use the knife on something other than the food. The whole vibe from the employees made for an uncomfortable dining experience.

Im a BBQ Fanatic. Also picky. This place is excellent. Brisket is top notch, one of the best Ive had. Pork was great but not the best- a bit dry. The red sauce is tasty but not as balanced as the blue....that said, the blue is too watery/not thick like the red. Sides are excellent also, sweet potatoes are spiced perfectly. Corn relish =yum. Beans were my favorite, not too sweet and nice consistency. Deducting a star for two things: the bad attitude my smiling 8 year old received when she was greeted by an ornery woman who clearly didnt want to be there...remainder of staff wasnt much better. Prices are steep/portions of meat are small.

Really great BBQ. My fiancé and I went here after a canoe ride down the namekagon. I had the Memphis bowl which came with 2 sides (I had sweet potato and mashed potato) and it also came with cole slaws on top (both tangy and creamy!)---it was SO filling, I couldnt eat it all. The corn muffin tops are really delicious. After such a great experience in Hayward, We will be making our way to the Edina location soon!

Food was tasty and pricey but atmosphere was poor due to staff. It was caustic or even toxic! I wouldnt recommend it to anyone. I was worried that they were going to use knives on each other, and they couldnt have cared less for customers. Wifes chicken sandwich had bones in it due to employee not treating food with any respect or even trying to make a decent sandwich.

The pulled pork and brisket were both fantastic! This promises to be better than that other famous place. When we visited, we even had the opportunity to speak with Dave, the pit master himself! I cant wait for this latest franchise to catch on so we can get one in Duluth! Thank you Dave for sharing your passion for BBQ with the rest of us!

Sunday July 12th we went there for lunch and had the a pork sandwich and a brisket sandwich with 1 side each not only were the sandwiches cold the sides were also COLD. We will more than likely not be visiting again. We always like Famous Daves but this did not compare. The price was also high with a fast food concept..

Dave needs to bring Old Southern BBQ to La Crosse, WI! Some of the greatest BBQ Ive tasted with good size portions and variety. I think the prices are good when you think about the quality of food and care that goes into making it. Everything from the food to the atmosphere seems really well thought out and complete.

I am used to eating ribs that are tender and fall off the bones. The ribs here were very tough and not tender at all. After reading that Famous Daves owner is the creator I decided to take the 1.5 hour drive to check it out. Famous Daves is much better. The best ribs are still in my hometown at Eddies Supperclub.

This is the best barbeque joint I have ever been to. And I have been to many across the US. What makes it great is the quality of the sides AND the meat. Full package deal people! Expensive at around $10 per person before drinks but you get what you pay for. Also, all of their house sauces are fantastic.

This place is simply amazing. The food is delicious and the sauces are yummy. Only complaint is that the prices are going up. A place that was a good bargain has now become an expensive splurge for the family. On average we pay about $12-$15 for a meal and a drink.

Last second decision lead to awesome food. Ill definitely be detouring thru Hayward again for this place. I had the brisket sandwich, Im pretty sure it made it into my dreams last night. Friendly staff and that smell you only get from a real barbecue joint.

Great bbq! The ribs were outstanding! I liked the brisket, but not nearly as flavorful as the ribs. I had mashed potatoes and my guy had baked beans - both were good sides. This is a nice alternative to the usual Hayward diners, supper clubs and bars.

Amazing BBQ food! Got a pulled pork sandwich and it was so good! The Mac and Cheese and Brisket were also delicious. The Chicago Blue (traditional) and Diablos Batch (spicy) bbq sauces were perfect. Highly recommend this place!

Great food! Prices are a little higher than chain BBQ joints, but the quality is much better! Smoked sausage was phenomenal, brisket was great and pulled pork was excellent! Great micro brew selection as well.

What Famous Daves should have been from the start. Imagine a Subway, only with quality southern BBQ and sides. You pick everything you want in your meal, no waiting 30 minutes for food, and the food is great.

Very good spot to go when you are craving some GOOD BBQ. Fast, excellent service, and clean. Love the bbq bowl as well. Too bad I live 3.5 hours away. Next time Im definitely coming back!
