Eastern Iowa has been hurting for competing, yet delicious BBQ for some time. Iowa Citians have Jimmy Jacks. Coralville had a sub-par BBQ joint in Bandanas... but that was really it.... until Q-Dogs. This place is Friggin phenomenal. The brisket is tender and flavorful. The sauces are divine and everything is made in house. They have live music often and the service has been pretty great each time weve been. Do you like fried cheese curds? (Who doesnt?!) Try theirs. Amazing. Fresh and crispy. Its worth getting your own basket just so you dont have to share. Their cheesy potatoes taste as good as what my grandmother makes, Im not entirely sure she isnt chained up back there making this amazing food. Its a bit on the higher end of pricing for a BBQ joint but its worth EVERY penny. Im just sad it isnt closer.

Their food is incredibly good. Their servers are nice enough. Thats where my compliments end. The way they run the place is terrible. Between their lack of front door staff, to the necessity of tracking down an employee to even be put on a wait list, to the planning of an appropriate amount of food to last the night, to the failure to inform waiting customers that they are out of a particular food for the night, etc. drove half an hour to experience all of these things in one evening. Left after finding out they were out of (at 6:30pm no less) the thing I came there for. No call ahead seating either-- I called ahead before driving; they should have told me they were out of something at this point! Will be exploring other options before considering coming here again.

This was the second time I have been here and both times they were out of all sides except Frys and beans. They were also out of a whole list of other things including chicken. I ordered the brisket and its so dry I have to smother it in sauce. Do not go here for dinner because it seems to me they run out of sides and are too lazy to cook more because at first they said they were out of coleslaw then the bartender said they decided to make more. The brisket was dry so Im assuming that it had been sitting for awhile also. The waitress also gave me attitude after I said something about them always being out of everything. Ill never eat here again!!!! This place is way overrated!

Easily the best BBQ in the area. Their meat is fresh, and the servings are generous. The brisket is a "competition style," so not as smokey as I personally prefer, but very good nonetheless. The pulled pork is excellent. The ABTs (smoked, bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers) are some of the best Ive had. Theres a small piece of brisket tucked inside each one. Truly ingenious. The beer selection is small, but very above-average for a BBQ joint. A handful of decent craft beers mixed in on tap, and some decent bottles and cans. It can get busy at lunch, but the wait generally isnt long. During nice weather, theres a small outdoor patio.

Going 3 Stars... the Brisket and the Ribs in the Meat Combo were a bit over done and dry because of that. The flavors were still very good and the Pulled Pork was excellent. A variety of sauces to choose from were all good and unique....as was our waitress, she was able to dish it out as well as our rowdy little bunch was able to give it. (She gained QDogs that 3rd Star). Neat place, good music and fun atmosphere. May be back to see if they cant bring the Ribs and Brisket up a notch to match the rest of the place.

Only has high ratings because there arent good BBQ options in CR. I had brisket, pulled pork and their apple cider slaw. Even though I love apple cider vinegar and coleslaw the execution is disgusting. Warm wilty and bland. Maybe I got a bad batch. The meats are dry and the rub is meh at best. Good effort but it falls short. Their sauces are decent and the only thing that made the food edible. I will make the long haul to Jethros next time I crave BBQ.

The food is double dog delicious. Pulled pork, ribs, brisket all fantastic. Cheesy potatoes, Cole slaw, baked pork n beans to die for. This place is usually packed. Well, the two times in two weeks Ive been there anyway. Tonight a group at one table was so obnoxiously loud, no one else in the entire restaurant (an admittedly small place) could have a conversation even with the person sitting next to them. Expansion would be recommended.

I went with my family to Q-Dogs on June 25, 2017 at approximately 1:00 pm. My father is very unsteady on his feet & walks with a cane. My servers name was Leelle...she was by far the best server I have ever had. She was so patient & kind--she embodies what a truly good human being is. AND the food was great too!!! Leelle-hopefully you will read this --THANK YOU for the kindness & dignity you showed my dad!!!

What happened?! I never thought I would give less than 5 stars to this restaurant. The pulled pork was lacking bad this time around. It had none of the smokey flavor I was looking forward to, wasnt even really "pulled" apart, and would hardly pass as even smoked at all. I will defiantly give them another chance based on all my other visits being fantastic. Hopefully the food goes back to the way it was!

Mediocre BBQ, tough meat but seasoned well. Side dishes are above average, cheesy potatoes had a great texture and flavor. Service is friendly even when stressed. Unfortunately, whomever run the joint has no idea what to do. Servers, cooks and managers are inexperienced and it shows. I Dont think people in cedar rapids know what good St. Louis BBQ is, doesnt even compare.

Great service, and friendly wait staff. I have eaten at many bbq resturants in Kansas City, and I am also a competition bbq cook. This place is awesome. I had the combo platter and sampled everything. I will definitely be back. Only thing about this place is that it is small and had to wait for a table, but it was worth it.

Love the food and atmosphere. Everything is great. Best choice to try everything is their combo and add the hit link, cheesy potatoes and the coleslaw. There is no way youll be sad with that choice. The beer selection is great, a mix of local and craft beer. Even better is when live music is on hand.

Eat Here!!! This place has better meat and BBQ than any place I visited in Texas! Lockhart included! The meat is so moist and the corn bread is off the charts! Menu is reasonably priced... You Get a LOT of food! Try the combo to get a taste of everything! Thanks QDogs for the Amazing BBQ! Keep it up!

If you can get a table, the food is probably good. We had a group of 8, and unfortunately they dont know when a table for 8 might become available. They did have several groups of 2 tying up large tables. Go here alone, or at most, with one other. Was I disappointed? Yeah. Photos? Not today.

Was good food but all meals came and were cold, not even Luke warm. They do not have a microwave, so they bring you our another plate. Still warm not hot. Even had browns were not warm. Some burnt parts in the meat. But overall good flavor. They also had live music at 6, so really enjoyed that!
