Ive eaten here several times, the pulled pork is good, about the same as the other well known bbq places in town. My most recent visit, however, may well be my last visit. I felt like I was in an episode of Seinfeld...particularly the Soup Nazi episode:) I walked in with my friends and without even thinking, we all just went to an empty table and sat down. Just as we started to discuss what wed order and which of us would go up to the counter to place the order some bouncer-type man came up to us and told us that we all must get up! Were breaking the rules (Im new in town, didnt realize restaurant had rules regarding sitting)...and that we ALL had to leave the table to stand on the food-ordering line. So, after some additional discussion, we all got up to stand on the line...who am I to break the rules? But it quickly became apparent that these rules are selectively enforced. I suppose if youre more imposing than the enforcer guy you get to do what you want...we were a party of two women and a teenager. If the person who approached us hadnt been so immediately confrontational and overbearing the whole situation could have been rather comical. But, bottom line, it is unlikely that I will return, I really dont want to run the risk that theyll have no tables and Ill have to eat standing up or outside where its 97 degrees. Fortunately Peg Leg Porker isnt the only game in town. Yes, rules are rules, but enforcement in a restaurant where people are going to have fun and relax can be done with a bit more finesse:)

This is somewhat of a mixed review regarding the appetizers we had picked up for our wedding reception. Peg Leg Porker started out professional and helpful, but on the wedding day when we had some issues, no one returned our calls. In fact, we still haven’t heard back. The Cowboy Caviar and the Pimento Cheese & Saltines Platter were both delicious. The 2 orders of Memphis Sushi, however, were supposed to serve 100, but they were severely underwhelming. There might have been 100 pieces of sliced sausage, but the platter was not as expected. We also had to purchase extra crackers to add to the Memphis Sushi and the Pimento cheese. As communicated with the catering contact, these appetizers would be refrigerated and not served until the next day. Though some of the parts were separated accordingly, there were still peppers mixed in with the crackers, which made them soggy before we even got them home after pick-up. Again, we had to purchase extra crackers. Like I said, the Cowboy Caviar was a solid choice, but be aware that the other appetizers might not be fit for a wedding.

This is the real deal. I love me some BBQ and Peg Leg delivers. They do ribs up with a dry rub, which isnt my preference, but hey! Im flexible. The meat was tender, the ribs were juicy, and they had a great flavor. Im glad I had them, and would easily order them again. I have to admit, I drizzled a little of their sauce on the ribs. But Im from Texas, Im not sure if thats a sin around here or not! :D The sauce was very good as well. It wasnt terribly sweet, which is a plus for me. My wife really liked her pulled pork as well. We both had the beans, and Id go back just for those. Man they were great. Did I mention how awesome those beans were? They had chunks of pulled pork in them and even though I was stuffed, I kept nibbling at them. The smoked green beans were tasty and my wifes potato salad was good as well. From a Texan who loves BBQ, Ill say that these guys know exactly what theyre doing. (Hey, Ive even judged a BBQ contest before, I know a little at least!)

Had the dry ribs. Truely 3D ribs with loads of meat. And an incredible taste of PORK! Not just smoke or just sauce... There was the taste of MEAT. Cooked perfectly so that the fat was just gone, all sinewy bits were soft, but just crispy sticky enough on the outside for the bite to have texture and to hold the rub. The rub was fantastic because the sweet and salty in it were underplayed so the key flavour was the pork (as it should be!) Tried the sauce as well:. hits the tongue with ketchup familiarity then mustard just comes through and a big bold (cider?) vinegar note tears past and tapers to a lingering paprika hot sweet-pickle aftertaste. The aftertaste is slightly dissonant- which seems to intentionally discourage sauce on the next bite. Cause you dont need it with such good ribs. Stunning. Best Babeque I have ever had. Disturbingly good. Im left wondering if any other food will taste good after this.

Wow....words cant describe how good the food is. I am a trained Johnson & Wales Chef from Providence, RI. I am by no means a BBQ expert! Although I do a great job eating it!! The ribs are outstanding! They are tender and executed spot on. The sides I had, mac & cheese was decadent and the green beans have a light smoke flavor which was awesome!! The hot sauce has a nice tang and the portions for the prices are right. Also, the fried pie, off the hook!!! #friedchocolatepie!! When looking at any restaurant I always try to envision what the owner was trying to achieve. In this case, I feel they nailed it. If you are looking for traditional Tennessee BBQ in Nashville, look no further. The ambiance is boisterous and fun. I cant wait to come back during my next trip to the music city!!! Keep smoking!!

Great bbq...had the ribs and pulled pork. Ribs were served dry with the sauce (choice of hot and medium) on the side. Even though the ribs werent falling off the bone like pulled pork as some places serve them, they were succulent and tender. Really yummy. The rub was just the right amount of salt and spice. The pulled pork was again tender and succulent. There were two sauces...hot and mild. We mixed both and wished we had purchased some to take home. Sides, especially the baked beans, were excellent. The restaurant is very casual....just grab a table, order at the counter, and your plate will be ready pronto. Beer selection was great, with lots of local choices. We had pints from Yazoo and Mayday breweries that suited the bbq just fine. Wonderful meal all around!

Ordered food cashier was aware our first time he was very short and acted as if we were bothersome. Green beans taste burned macaroni no flavor. When asked for to go containers after realizing they packed our food as if we were dining in same cashier gave us one to go container though we ordered 2 meals had to repeatedly ask for utensils and napkins etc for our to go meals one nice gentleman came from the back to give us tops for the sides not offered a bag or anything else to carry out our meal couldnt understand why service sucked when there was only 3 other couples in the restaurant not busy at all not worth it go to Edleys or Jacks better food and better service thats what I get for trying a new establishment.

This place is the bomb! Everybody from people working out back to the guy at the bar, to the table staff is amazing. The vibe inside is very nice. I had their famous dry-rub ribs with beans and slaw. Aint nothing like it! The ribs were tender, smokey, came off the bone just right, and had the perfect seasoning rub flavor to them. The beans were hot and had excellent pork/smoke flavor to them. The slaw had the perfect texture to it. They provide a great time for whoever you are, whenever youre visiting, whatever you want to eat. I highly recommend this place. Drive to the Gulch for a BBQ experience of a lifetime. 5 stars
