Staff Went the Extra Mile Recently, my wife and I ordered a couple of very special cakes made by National Bakery, located on Greendales Broad Street. I cant say enough about how incredibly pleased we were with the results. We worked very closely with a woman named Lucia, who made the entire experience a sheer joy. I would like to have included a picture of both cakes! The wedding cake was to be simple and was executed exactly as we ordered it. The Barbie Cake, which incorporated a Scarlet OHara doll which we provided, was a very exacting project, however. It was an extremely specific request which was carried out flawlessly by the staff. Lucia saw to each and every one of our needs perfectly. So, both cakes looked amazing and were expertly made. Now for the taste... INCREDIBLE!! Both the cake and the butter cream frosting were out of this world! Ive enjoyed plenty of cake in my life; and this was, without exception, possibly the best ever! We recommend this bakery to anyone and everyone in need of a special bakery order or just a little something thats pre made. Kudos to National Bakery. Had a cake done here for my sisters baby shower. The person that worked with me did a great job. They have great communication here. When they say theyll call you back- they actually do earlier than what they tell you-- which is a good thing. I was a little worried about how the cake would turn out, because I was not too impressed with their cake pictures on the website. However, it was done beautifully. I am completely satisfied with the way it looked, and how the baker was able to re-create the look without using the same type of frosting as the photos provided. It matched our fruit table perfectly. The cake itself was a little on the dry side (hence the 4 stars), BUT I would not hesitate to order from here in the future again. The cake got a lot of compliments and a lot of people did like it-- and did ask where it was from. I would definitely recommend this bakery in the future.

Not open on Sundays! Correct me if Im wrong but Isnt Sunday "Hot Ham & Roll Day". The Prices are higher which are to be expected at a small business. One more thing that struck as odd... what bakery doesnt have a cake decorator if youre selling cakes? All I needed was a "Happy Birthday" written on a cake . Instead I was taken over to a rack that had cheap plastic signs for every occasion. Then I was told that I could take the cake to 16th Street and get it done there. To be fair, the customer service was good. The ladies made sure that i was being helped by someone. All in all, save some time and find another place. Nothing special here.

Ive never heard anyone complain about any of their baked goods, but my favorites are the buttercream filled chocolate frosted donuts and the cake with the toasted coconut and toffee. They are always friendly and even allow you to call ahead. They will hold donuts for you or make them up so you can run in and pick up your order.

Wonderful home town bakery great fresh products offered would invite everybody to support this little piece of Americana yes closed on Sunday is not good maybe be open from 8 to 1 to take care of the after church/pre Packer game crowd Sunday was always the ham and roll day in my family...⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
