We havent been here in over a year because of very poor service and poor management reaction to complaints, so we decided to give it another try. We had 5 people and were greeted promptly. Our server was Callie (possibly different spelling) and she was great. Accidentally spilt a soda and was very apologetic. Food arrived in a timely manner (rib-eye, talapia, cheeseburger, taco salad, and turkey dinner) though the place was dead. The burger was alright, and the rest was well below average. The taco salad meat was not drained; you could see the fat oozing through the shell and pooling on the plate. The steak was ordered well done, and was over cooked and very charred. The talapia was very pink meaning undercooked. Finally was my turkey dinner. The turkey was covered in gravy and the turkey was dry and overcooked. The potatoes were very dry, and the stuffing was just ok - nothing impressive. The green beans must have been new and old; you could tell by the color. The highlight of my dish was the gravy and the salad beforehand. We let our polite server about this, and she asked if she could get us something else, but we declined. A couple minutes later, an owner (who is a lady) came up to our booth and stated in a very rude voice "So whats the problem here?" We explained what was wrong and before we could finish, she literally began arguing and cutting us off. She was explaining the taco meat was that way because of the tomato juice, but it was clearly fat that wasnt drained from the meat. She than began to tell us that she just had a talapia and it looked like ours and it is supposed to be different colors. We pointed out that ours was pink and showed her, and she kept arguing that it will be pink, although anyone knows fish should not be pink. Anything we tried telling her was immediately cut off in a very rude tone and walked away. Last I knew the customer is ALWAYS right and you NEVER argue. You listen to the customer and apologize and offer a discount. We went up to pay and she said she would give us half off of the taco salad and talapia, and she only took half off one dish. We payed and left. I did make a remark when I walked out the door that I will NOT be coming back again, not even if I get a free meal. I also stated that we should have went to Faros, which is where we always go. Also when we payed, the owner advised us that if we were to come back, we should just order something different because they will not make the food different. To end, it looks like we did quit going to Rolling Meadows Restaurant for the correct reason, but maybe after a year something changed, but I would say that the management and food has gotten worse. The only aspect I was impressed with was the server Callie. I can safely say that we will no longer be going back every again. Even if they were to offer a free meal, I still will not go back. But honestly, what good business owner starts an argument with a group of customers in front of others and then proceeds to tell you what to order next time?

One of the few places open in the area before 11 am in a weekday. Surprisingly good and decent service. Serves breakfast all day and had the lunch menu available before 11. The chili on the taco salad was not spicy, contrary to the description, but it was very good. The shell was crispy and not too dense. The French onion soup was far better than expected with a crisp crouton and cheese on top. The eggs and hashbrowns looked good and I was assured by the others I was eating with that they were, in fact, good. Our waitress was attentive and polite. Overall, worth eating at.

The food was alright, lots of different options that other restaurants dont have. Our waitress was Betsy and she was great. However we could hear the conversations of the other waitresses and the hostess behind the counter complaining about certain customers coming in while the waitresses are trying to eat. Simply just unprofessional whether they were joking around or not, which didnt seem like the case.

The environment was nice but our waitress was rude. I saw her roll her eyes twice when I asked for more coffee. The food was also subpar. My boyfriends pancakes were dry and my omelette came without cheese, which was a surprise to me. The service was quick but I believe that was due to the lack of people dining there.

Good food. The atmosphere is like a Perkins or other type of family restaurant. The waiting staff is nice enough, but I wouldnt say friendly or super helpful. The lady seating people is always crabby. Calling people stupid and dropping f-bombs up at the register.

Easy on/off I-41, Plenty of booths, (good size) no real wait, Restaurant for all! Definitely kid friendly-fast service Hotel right across street. Menu has all day breakfasts...everything is delicious.
