Piccola Italia is an authentic mom and pop gem of a place. It has a wonderful atmosphere, superb food and excellent service. Everyone from the owner Frank and his daughter who took the time from their busy kitchen to help select a great wine to the waitress who makes you feel like you are at home with family. I ate there for the first time with my son and had the lasagna and chicken parmigiana. Everything tasted great! The home made sauce was fresh and full of flavor. You are going to want a spoon! Also, the pasta fagioli had just the right taste and was delicious. Last but not least, was the amazing tiramisu desert made by the owners daughter herself. You have to try it. All the food is made fresh from scratch and with passion. Next time, I am going to try their NY style pizza and cheesecake.

Cannot say enough nice things about this place! Went there last weekend for the first time. The staff was so friendly and knowledgable. We had two young ones with us and several of the staff made it a point to interact with them, which meant the world to them. I ordered the sausage and peppers on the advice of the waitress, who described it has hearty. She was understating it. There was enough food for two and it was incredibly good. I was able to try some of the other dishes our table received and they were equally great! I finished it off with the chocolate and nutella cheesecake, which was incredible! Overall, everyone had a wonderful time and we will definitely be back!

Friendly waiter, but not much in the way of good food. The lasagna had no herbs, chunks of meat, ricotta, or in general flavor. The "Chicken Francese" tastes like Lean Cuisine but even less flavor. Where is the garlic, shallot, wine or herbs? Maybe they can do a pizza decently, but $20 for a piece of tough chicken in a flavorless sauce over bland plain pasta is a huge stretch. Do not go here for good-quality authentic food. At best youll get subpar, bordering on totally flavorless food that is outdated and uninspiring. They also dont make any of the tortellini or raviolis fresh.

I am blown away that anybody would eat here and leave a good review. It makes me really question ever looking at reviews for anything again. This place was awful and thats being generous. The service sucked, the food was easily the worst italian food I have ever had (nowhere authentic), the "oil" they brought out for the 2 day old bread was vegetable oil. Honestly, if google would allow me to post my number I would put it up so you could call me and I could convince you not to make the worst dining mistake in your life.

I went at 8:30 on a Saturday night, sat outside, and it was not crowded at all. The place had a great atmosphere and the menu variety and pricing were on par with any other great Italian place. The food tasted phenomenal -- I have heard and now believe that its authentic Sicilian cuisine -- and the portions were way too big to finish. Two people shared an appetizer, had one drink and entree each (which came with soup or salad) and the final cost was right at $40. I will be returning (often!).

The pizza is the greatest in the area and the owner is such a great guy!!!!! But there is a but there is an Asian lady who works there and she is not so nice she approached our table in a stereotypical type of manner she asked us if we could speak English which was very rude I dont suppose all Hispanics speak only Spanish in the USA lol on top of that she was very rude towards us but other than that I love the food and all the other employees.

Im not usually one to write reviews but after having eating at this restaurant now for a year and a half I just had to. Hands down by far the best pizza Ive ever had. I dine in and carry out pizza once a week! Because I love the pizza so much its hard for me to order anything else; however I have had the chicken Parmesan and its also excellent! I plan to return as I always do and encourage everyone to try the pizza for sure!

Do not eat here.. The manager is terrible with customer service for one and sitting in the restaurant I have actually seen him treat his employees with such disrespect I almost got up and left without even waiting for my food! Then when the food got there it was cold the order was not correct and I am just highly disappointed with the service that came from there. I would NOT eat here if I were you.

We went here for Cameron Villages Open House. It was delicious!! The portions were very large and I asked for extra marinara sauce and got it! The salad was wonderful and the meal was piping hot! Service, great! I had a really good experience here, as did everyone else at our table! 5 stars! Thank you for a memorable meal. Cant wait to go back sometime.

My husband and I went here while we were in town for the week. I had pasta and my husband had pizza. We both were very pleased with what we ordered. The food was great! We definitely enjoyed sitting outside as well since it was a nice night. The staff was friendly and attentive. If youre in town, I recommend giving this place a shot!

The restaurant was nice enough and the food was okay, but it wasnt anything special. The bread didnt remind me Italian food and the veal was a bit tough. It was a good experience to eat at the restaurant, but I dont think Ill be returning given the other Italian restaurants in the area.

I am in love with the pizzas. I remember the first time I came here I met the owner. He was really nice and polite. I dont know about the other meals that are on the menu. But next time I come back and try their pastas. I have a good feeling it will taste very delicious.

Authentic Italian food and best pizza in Raleigh. I have been eating pizza from here every since my mother worked for one of the local Cameron Village banks when I was in high school. Lets just say I am old enough to have grandchildren. Never been disappointed.

The food was good but wont return due to $5.00 sharing fee. I work in the medical field where smaller portions are recommended and encouraged. I felt like we were punished for wanting to eat healthier. And the waiter never mentioned the additional cost.

I dont understand all the good reviews. The pizza was tasteless and boring. I compare it to a red baron frozen pizza and my wife agreed. Its a shame because I really wanted it to be good, but was very disappointed after spending $30 on a pizza
