Ive only been here a few times when it was under the name of Emmas. What experience Ive had previously was good, but thats changed. A group of friends and I went there for dinner just yesterday (Sunday Feb. 12th). This was my first experience dining in since ownership changed, and I was not impressed. First, I noticed the poor atmosphere. The music playing was not relaxing or welcoming, and it would cut out frequently and leave us in silence for a minute or so (which was maybe a little more enjoyable than the music). Second, it was not busy at all. This could be seen as great, except that the service was excruciatingly slow and poor regardless. Our server was unprofessional and did not seem "all there" so to speak. The food took a long time to get to us, and when it did 3 out of 4 of us in my group were unimpressed. It was cheap, overcooked, an unappealing. The 4th of our group did enjoy her chicken strips so Ill give them that. Multiple times we had asked for something and it never came without a reminder we were waiting. At one point my friend went up to the bar counter to ask for something, but she was told "just a sec.," by our one and only server who decided his time on the job was spent better flirting with the woman at the bar. I dont care if he was interested in her or not, while hes working he should be taking care of his customers needs (which at this point I believe we were the only ones there other than the woman and her companion). It took at least 10-15 more minutes before he remembered to bring us what wed asked for. By the end of our dinner, we were ready to go. Ive not wanted to leave a restaurant this quickly very many times. When we received our bills, I was a little thrown off because a few of my friends and I were being charged more than we saw on the menu. When we inquired as to why, we were told it was their dinner pricing. Perhaps that was an oversight on all three of our part (one of our friends was charged less than she thought it was) but it was not blatantly apparent there was a spike in pricing for the dinner meals. Oh well, I was ready to pay and get the heck out of there. Unfortunately theyve lost my interest, and I will not be back there unless I hear things have improved. Its disappointing because I appreciate variety, and Yelm doesnt have a lot of that in quality when it comes to diners. We all wished wed chosen to go elsewhere, such as Mr. Dougs or Casa Mia where we know well be treated well and get better food.

If I could give this restaurant in Yelm 10 stars, it would still not be enough! If you want a GREAT meal & wonderful service, this is the ONLY place to eat!!! Their prices are fantastic, the amount of food they serve is huge, fresh & always delicious! All the staff will go the extra mile to make your dining experience a true delight. I have a sister who needs gluten-free meals (she lives out of state & visits each year). This year I took her to the Tahoma Valley Bar & Grill. Even though they do not technically have a gluten-free menu, they went out of their way to prepare a super special meal for her. It was amazing! Every time I go there the food & service have been excellent. I highly recommend anyone in the area visit this restaurant. It is truly the ONLY place in Yelm for excellent food & wonderful service along with fantastic prices! EDIT IN: PS -- I had their bread pudding tonight. I am a complete bread pudding snob. Ive been told by other restaurants that their bread pudding is the best ever - one local restaurant that made this claim had their bread pudding returned with the half-bite I took spit back out on the plate. It was just that terrible. The bread pudding at Tahoma Valley Bar & Grill is to die for!!!! & this is from a very serious bread pudding snob! Go! Now! & eat some! Youll have a very happy-face yummmmm. :D

Went there for breakfast on Sunday morning, August 14, 2016. It was not busy. Never while we were there were all the tables filled and yet the service was HORRIBLE. Took forever to get coffee which was bitter and awful. We asked for creamer and she said she would be back in a bit with it.....never have the words ever been truer. We had to tell her we were ready to order and even then she wouldnt take our order. We had to wait till she came back. There were ingredients used in my meal that were not mentioned on the menu. The food was good but the service was so bad some of the meals served at the table were cold. Had the waitress appeared to be running ragged or exhausted it would have been more understandable but the attitude she oozed was one of indifference.

Besides having the most delicious candied bacon in their amazing spicy Bloody Marys, the staff at Emmas consistently delivers high quality food and service at great prices, even when theyre packed, and in an environment that invites us to linger and visit just a little longer, a few minutes more, until its time to say, "See you next week."...Emmas doesnt only feed the hungry, it grows the kinds of frienship formed when time stops and the laughter begins. Jody and her crew deserve a big thumbs up.

Never eat where a tweaker works aka Jerry. Gravy was weird hamburger gravy....never ordered that. Hamburger was like a hockey puck....having had Jerrys cooking at the Barn house in Roy...well I wish I knew he was the cook when I came in. Subpar.... The service is....what you expect from entitled Caucasian servers who work at a gulf course.....smiles, no resolution and expecting a huge tip. Oh well my bad. Never going back there again.

Sat us at a dirty table and made a joke when we asked them to clean it. The sandwich was just okay, nothing special and the beer had a horrible taste, like it was bad... Service was hit and miss and we were almost the only ones in the restaurant. These people do not love what they do.

Featuring a pleasant atmosphere, relaxing patio, good food and reasonable prices, Emmas at the Yelm Golf Club, is a welcome addition for restaurant choices in Yelm. Whether youre a golfer or casual diner, you owe it to yourself to check out Emmas if youre in the Yelm area.

Service is polite, but slow. Ranch dressing was watered down. My food was warm, lending itself to the cold side. Veggies were burnt so I didnt touch them.
