5 stars for the caddie and the views. 2 stars for the horribly conditioned course. so i gave it a total of 3 stars. Im at a loss for why there are all of these positive reviews and how in the heck this place will be ready for the US Open in 2015. I played on 08/31/13 and the course I played was not a reasonable or fair test of golf. Im a pretty decent golfer and a good putter so I expect to make birdie putts from 15-20 feet out. Unfortunately, about 1/2 of the greens were completely unplayable. Putts bounced horribly and speeds were grossly inconsistent. Additionally, multiple areas of the fairways were burnt out, the rough was anemic and a non-issue on missed drives. The only penalties were the waste areas which, for anyone who consistently strikes the ball well really arent a huge problem. Aside from the fact there were areas of green and fairway which were essentially nothing but sand just like the waste areas. The only truly great experience was having a caddy. He was a young guy (17 years old) but very knowledgable about the course, his yardages were spot on, and putt reads were as good as I could get considering the terrible shape of the greens. There were multiple chips and pitches I played to 30 feet away from the hole or well past the hole because my caddie told me everything would feed back down to within 5 feet if I did so. He was great. The views on the course are spectacular and I truly mean that. The Sea-Tac area has some of the most amazing natural beauty in the world and May-October here are as great as anywhere else. I came to the course believing all of the hype and ready to spend $3,500 to get unlimited playing privileges for the year. I left feeling that the $50 I paid my caddie was the only money I spent that was worth it. I paid $185 to play a course with greens worse than most municipal courses I have played. I WANT this place to be great and it does have true potential. Unfortunately, I am terrified for the US Open in 2015 and what these amazing golfers will face. They deserve a better conditioned course. Actually, forget the golfers. This incredible land and the amazing initial design by RTJ II deserves more respect than the condition this course is currently in.

A group of us went to walk the trail and stop at the clubhouse for lunch. The walking trail was fantastic, and the food at the clubhouse was great, not priced too bad for a clubhouse setting. When we ordered, they informed us that they would not split checks for groups of 8 or more (there were 10 of us). Which.. in this age of computer tickets seems odd, but not unheard of.. the server (who turned out to be the manager as well) did say she could run multiple cards, so we figured we would deal with it. When it came time to pay, she informed us she couldnt just run each card for each persons meal, that if there were 3 cards, the bill would just be split among each card. HUH? If she can tell the system to run each card for 1/3 of the bill, why cant it be done on a per person basis? Never heard of this from any sort of restaurant. Finally she "broke down" and split us in to individual tickets. She kept falling back on "its our policy", and partially blame it on their computer system. Theyre going to be hosting the US Open in 6 months, if their system cant handle individual tickets, theyre going to have major issues come June. Well, sorry, but your policy sucks, and we all agreed well likely not be coming back again. Great food was ruined by the simple fact they were not, without way too much drama, willing to accommodate a group of individuals being able to pay individually.

The staff at the Open were pretty incompetent. I know they are volunteers but still they should know where things are. That is what they are there for. I wanted to know where the shuttle was to take me back to parking lot H - so I could get to the airport. The first three staff gave me the wrong information and pointed me to the wrong place. I figured I would go to the information tent and they were the most clueless of them all. They were trying to call people, look up things in a folder and doing everything but provide me the correct information. Finally I had to walk all the way to the other end of the course and eventually found the place. Also, they wouldnt open the crossings after the players played through and there were throngs of people waiting. They would just stand there. Hopefully the Open will not come back here for a long long time.

Played here 3 times in the past 3 years. Its a long tough walk for anyone whos not in good shape, or perhaps for senior players. And it plays just as tough. True links style to the most demanding standards. You have to think about every single shot, where its going to land, and most important, where its going go after it lands! If you have never played here, get a foursome caddy to enlighten you on your first round, it will be so much more enjoyable as you learn your way around this course. Some earlier reviews I believe are a little unjustifiably harsh due to the fact the course is so new. Its going to take some time. We last played back in March of this year and it was one of the most awesome days of golf I have ever played. Cant wait to watch the US Open here this week, and cant wait to go back and play again.

Im a local and have been in the area long enough to remember when this land was a working gravel pit! Progress is progress. In this case they managed to get it right. The grill offers up some good food at reasonable prices. We have never failed to receive great service and - like everyone else says - the view is..... no, Im not going to say it, go see for yourself. And while you are there take advantage of the park (north end of property) and walking paths in the golf course or the walkway that spans the length of property along its upper ridge providing more spectacular views of the area, oh shoot I said it. (caution - steep grades are involved on the paths in the golf course)

WARNING If you like to play on greens that are ragged and have staked off areas that come into play .( Twice are approch shots hit the stakes ) and partially sanded tees, fairways, and greens while paying a premium price than this is the place for you. Three hundred for me and my 13 year old son to play a great course with sub standered conditions. Very disappointed that the pro didnt give us a heads up before we played. Shame on me for not asking what the condition of the course is in before I payed the $$$. I assumed this wouldnt be the case... Service and staff was golden not there fault. Played in june 2010...

Our car got broken into while we were playing. They failed to notify us that there have been several break ins in their parking lot. When we filed a police report, the deputy told us that there have been over 200 break ins in their lot in the past two years. I find that the course management and county are liable for the break in because they neglected to notify their customers. They have signs in the lot that were covered by trees and brush and we overlooked them. We were so excited to go play that we were not paying attention to any signs in the parking lot. The break in ruins a good day on the course.
