Came in for a birthday party of 15 people. We were informed the wait would be one hour. It was a Saturday night and we understood so a few of us that arrived early went to the bar after we were told we would be notified when our table would be ready. As more people showed up for our gathering we waited patiently for our table. After an hour into the wait a staff member came up and told us they gave our table away and the manager would come talk to us. The manager said he was sorry and would try to get our tables worked out. I find it odd that they could tell us they gave our table away but couldnt tell us the table was ready before they gave it away. We finally get seated and the waitress that was hardly a waitress began taking our order before we could even fully get sat. I get it, we have a large group and can seem overwhelming. That being said, after she took out order she came by the table maybe twice to check on us, before, during and after our food was brought out. Some of us didnt get our drinks until flagging other servers down. Some of us didnt get our food until 20 minutes after most everyone elses food was brought out, and one of the orders was just fries. We are not a pretentious bunch and maybe our server was having a rough night, I dont know. But its obvious when someone cares about service and when they do not and she didnt care. When it came time to pay the machine broke, not her fault but it just added to the bad experience. I didnt get a chance to ask everyone how their food was but my guacamole burger was overcooked and lacking flavor. We didnt get any of our sauces that we ordered and none of us got any water until I went to the bar and got my own water. I hate to be hater but damn! Get it together Red Robyn.

I decided to take my family out on a Thursday night, around 8:30, to see what all the fuzz was about. We walked into more than half empty restaurant and no one in line waiting but us. We waited for more than 5 minutes for someone to seat us. The people there saw us waiting but didnt pay any attention until a party of three walked in. A lady went straight to them and took them to their table. My wife ask the lady if she did not see us there because she just skipped us. She reply and I quote " No I see you and i will seat you guys now". She took us to table 42 and said here go and then walked away. We waited for over 20 minute for our waiter but no one show up to get us water or anything (there were plenty of waitress and waiter around). So I use the little pad they have at the table to buzz for a waiter. Waited another 5 minutes and still no one show up. Again, restaurant was half empty. So my wife went to the lady that sat us and asked her where was our waiter or waitress because no one show up. Her reply was "oh, where is your table?" My wife pointed to our table and she said ok. I swear on my life, after my wife walked away, the lady turn around and did nothing about it. She was just standing there at the front waiting for customer to walk in. 5 minutes went by without any result, we decided to walk out. We told her that we will report her to the manager but she didnt seem to care because all she did was smile and said ok (friendliest gesture we ever got from her). Oh, and the place smell like Pee at table 42. The worst restaurant experience ever! No thank you to Red Robin and I will report this to their coorporate.

Tuesday night we stood in the front but there was no host to greet us so we sat in the bar and flagged down a server named J. J. (dont know the spelling) who was obviously extremely busy but was also still extremely helpful, professional, and attentive. He let us order right away and although they were obviously short staffed it didnt take long to get our food, which was delicious (but why is red robin always so skimpy on the fries?). A very rude and obnoxious customer later also sat himself in the bar with his date, flagged down the same server, and gave a repetitive and nearly incessant tantrum about waiting in the front with no one to seat him for 15 minutes even though the restaurant was "full of empty seats." I personally wanted to tell the other customer to shut up and let the poor guy do his job but he was steadfast in keeping his composure and diffusing the conflict, and eventually convincing the man to allow him to serve him, which was very impressive to me. J. J. (still not sure on the spelling) deserves kudos and recognition. I worked in customer service for years, and I would suggest that management do a better job of staffing their restaurant and being present to support what staff they DO have when they are short staffed. It would also be wise to designate a staff member to periodically check the front and let customers know they are very short staffed and will likely face a longer than usual wait, to avoid customers becoming so angry that they prevent servers from doing their jobs and cause other customers to wait even longer.

Took 20 minutes to get seated even though the place was empty. The hostess wouldnt make eye contact and spent the entire time wandering around the empty restaurant deciding where to put us. Several other employees just wandered past not bothering to ask if we had been helped or to just take the initiative and seat us themselves. Not sure why since there was no one else in the restaurant, save for maybe the bar area. Once we got seated our server was friendly and got the kids food out quick, but we had to ask for everything; water, silverware, napkins, plates and ketchup. My wifes fish and chips was greasy and tasted frozen, and my burger was bland and smothered in mayo. I tried to take a bite, but it kept sliding out of the bun and onto the plate. Our waitress got busy and disappeared, but I dont blame her, because the manager stood at the expedite station the entire time just yelling at people and chit-chatting with the servers when she could have grabbed some food and ran it to tables to, I dont know, help her employees out? The only upside was the quickness with which they got our food out, and the kids grilled cheese was tasty. The wings I got were also good and hot. Aside from that, really lackluster. It was also disappointing to see their manager just standing around not working. I can understand how that must rub off on the employees.

Lets see... What can I say to justify tge fact that i truly wanted to give tgis business below 3 stars. My first experience was unbelievably unpleasant. With my companion we sat at the bar to avoid the wait, and mind you we are not feom Washington, so a bit unfamiliar with the laws. The waitress comes along gets our alcoholic beverag orders, and askes for our ids. I had forgotten mine so I said i will not be drinking, therefore no need to show the ID. I am not kidding you when I say that this waiters went nuts on us, stating the law that if one is in the bar they have to have an ID or she and the business will get fined, and so on. In a matter of seconds she not only manages to yell at us about this, insult my mother, but also made us get up and leave the bar area. I wont get into the details of the conversation we had with the manager, who didnt seem to concerned that new guests at her establishment have just had the worst experience in the history of restaurant goings. Cut ahead a week, for some reason we decided to go again, and guess what, this time its a different waiter in the bar area, we all gor drinks, and they didnt even ask for IDs. So i guess it wasnt suck a big and critical deal that the other writers went crazy on ua for. Plust the burgers are amazing!!!! So there you go i gave it 4 stars for the better experience.
