It was one of my girlfriends last day at work and we took her out to celebrate. First we decided to go into the lounge/bar area instead of the restaurant area because it was full. It is Friday, I can understand. But when we sat down, the bartender/waitress lady was very annoyed at serving us. She was this haggy old funky women who happen to be very stressed over our being there.. (Meaning she had to work a little harder) Yes she is older, I do feel bad for her, but when you have new customers coming in and ordering stuff... You gotta do what you gotta do. She took forever to get our order, plus our Mai-Thai. Anyways, the table she set our drinks on and food werent very stable. As a matter of fact. I lean in a little bit, Our drinks spilled, mind you, I didnt drink that much at all, My poor friend were soaked... it was my fault, but when she got up, she didnt tip the table that much, her drink spilled over. That was a domino affect! The waitress/bartender were not very helpful. She didnt offer us any rags or tissue. She just wiped up the mess and went off to do her own thing. Talk about customer service! Oh and she added her tip on your bills whether you put a certain amount, she wants more then what you tip her. How rude

Ordered take out from this supposed 4 star Chinese place. Ordered Pork lo mein with no vegetables. Instead got chicken with ramen noodles and extra vegetables. Then got won ton soup and had to bring my own container for it. Then inside the soup was one poor tasting won ton and ramen noodle broth so thats where the little packet of flavoring went for the noodles I got with my lo mein. Then ordered dumplings and got no soy sauce. Then got below average general tsos chicken. Definitely not worth the $40 that I paid for this meal. Then proceeding dinner I spent another $40 in new rolls of toilet paper. Would not recommend to my worst enemy. I answered 3 security questions and changed my password four times just to log in and write this review. Had plenty of time though sitting on the toilet. If youre looking for an expensive laxative with a side of high blood pressure, this is the place for you!

We have been coming here since 2003 and always sit in the bar. For the last few years, every time we get there at say 8:30, we walk in, the bartender lets out a big huff and then always says something like "Well, I GUESSSSS" ( when we want to order food). She always wants to close early and go out with her boyfriend. Once we order, she continues huffing around until we leave. We finally decided after the last time, that we will NEVER go back. We used to live nearby & now we have been driving 40 minutes or so to go there. Always a couple of drinks and dinner and ALWAYS being made to feel like a burden (the last 2 years). It is no longer & enjoyable atmosphere. We have seen people walk out for the same reasons "her attitude when they walk in because she wants to leave". Pretty sad that they dont care if they lose long time customers like us.

Ordered hong kong special. Almond chicken, sweet and sour pork, deep fried shrimp, fried rice, wonton soup, bbq pork, exchanged choi main for beef choi yuk. Did not receive the gravy for chicken or sweet and sour sauce for pork. To-go order supposed to be ready 20-25 min. Arrived on-time. Waited 20 min to receive order. Phoned to ask wher sauces were, told to come back again. Meal was $60+. Was not going back the 20-25 min drive to receive rest of meal. Was told the person who lackaged the meal just left. Received an "Im sorry." No compensation for ruined meal and wasted money.

The Hong Kong is a well established neighborhood eatery & lounge. The bar although small is known for better than average cocktails not limited to the normal asian fare. A regular stop for happy hour for some area residents they will happily serve you dinner or pack up everything you could need or want to take home to the family. They have a basic American & Childrens menus or Excellant & Extensive Chinese Food cooked to perfection the prices are a little high but worth it to most my only reason for 4 stars instead of 5

Been coming here and (mostly) take out since 1999, always good, yes a bit pricey. Its gone you from $26.00 for two Hong Kongs to $36.00 now.. But, weve never been disappointed, friendly staff has worked here forever. Had a Christmas party here once, everyone loved it. Very few match this flavor and service. Now as for consistency.. we usually get take out from here 2x a month. Have missed it lately. It used to be on my way home, but changed jobs and will only travel to them. It is worth the drive from Fredrickson.

Gross they serve more vegetables in the food than anything else. The chicken in my fried rice was totally dried out and the rice wasnt anything special at all. My chow mein had 5 big vegetables for every one little noodle string the shrimp was barely cooked through. The beef and broccoli barely had any beef and lots of other unnecessary vegetables. If I wanted diet food I wouldnt have order Chinese smh. To top it all of it was $36 for three items what a waste! Never again

We went for the first time last night and FINALLY we found a good Chinese food restaurant up here. Im originally from Southern California and have had horrible luck w/ good Chinese food up here in Pierce County. So glad to have found Hong Kong! Food was awesome and extremely tasty. Service was spot on. No wonder this restaurant has been in business for over 30 years! It was busy too. I highly recommend this place. Very very good!

The egg roles and potstickers were decent but the rest of the food was horrible. We ordered the family D and substituted the sweet & sour pork for general tso and we threw most of it away. The chicken was gross and the sauce tasted nothing like they were supposed to. The breading was so much that it was like a small piece of mystery meat in an air filled balloon of bread.

I have been going to Hong Kong for over 2 years now and have never had a bad meal. The food and service are excellent. The server Van is very polite and knows us by name. The bartender Darlene is a very charming woman. The drinks are excellent. Try the almond chicken and the roasted duck. You will continue to go back. Best chinese food in Tacoma .
