This place was one of my saddest let downs, when if first opened I could not have asked for more. An indian meal for under $10 including naan. Yes it was not the highest quality food and served in paper dishes but I frequented it almost every week. Then several things happened, they got fancy dishes, they jacked up the prices at least $3 per dish, the nice lady who worked at front left, the chicken became burnt on the outside, the food became oiler and heavier, and finally the portion sizes became smaller/less chicken in every dish. It was like they took their unique value proposition and ruined it by trying to have class but at the end of the day they gave us crappier food and smaller portions. For the new prices you can get much better elsewhere. So so so sad :(

My experience with this restaurant was bad on so many levels. I ordered delivery, and first of all they overcharged me 7 dollars from their prices on the internet, although they said that delivery was free and they did not give me an itemized receipt. I had told them that i needed to go to the airport in and hour and a half, and they said it would be there in 40 minutes. Needless to say they came in an hour and a half, and did not even put any utensils in the bag, so my girlfriend and I were left to stare at cold food on the train ride. Finally, they were extremely difficult to get a hold of throughout the entire process, and after all this, the samosas that my girlfriend and I could eat made us both sick that night. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant.

Incredibly impressed with this place. My boyfriend and I ate there after wandering up and down the street debating between all the choices, we definitely chose well. The waiter (possibly the owner?) Had excellent customer service and was extremely helpful. he recomend the mint Lamb, which my boyfriend ordered and it was delicious. I got the mango chicken curry and it was super tasty. I had never had Pakistani food before and this was a great first experience. The dishes were very reasonably priced (11$ for chicken dishes and 13$ for the Lamb) and had plenty of food, we each took some leftovers home. Also, the bread was delicious!! Will definitely be returning and recommending this place.

The Seattle U-District has quite a diversity of appealing ethnic restaurants, and I debated for some time before settling on Garam Masala. I certainly wasnt disappointed: though I only had the afternoon lunch buffet, the food was simply delicious. The buffet had several items that one doesnt easily find at standard, run-of-the-mill South Asian restaurants, like lamb curry and pakoras. Everything was seasoned to perfection and very affordable, considering. I also enjoyed a pleasant conversation with the proprietor (Shalil, I believe), who struck me as quite a gentleman. The next time Im in Seattle (hopefully soon!), I will be sure to return to Garam Masala!

I enjoy the lunch buffet at Garam Masala. For under $10, you get as much food as you want, and plain or garlic naan is included. When Ive been there theyve always had four vegetarian options. My only complaint is that the offerings are hit-and-miss depending on which day you go. Sometimes the dishes will be excellent and other times so-so (I prefer them more buttery but sometimes they are more on the sweet side). I say give it a try and supporting a local small business. The proprietor is friendly and seems to actually care about visitors.

I almost always get Indian food to-go from here, as apposed to other nearby restaurants. Theyre pretty quick for pick-up, very slow for delivery, but the to-go portions are large enough to serve as two separate meals. The Tikka Masala (veg.) is very good, creamy, saucy. The samosas are good, some days better than others. The price for everything is average for the area, 2-3 dollars cheaper than the nearby Shalimar Restaurant, which recently remodeled and has a fantastic atmosphere. Definitely recommend.

Proper food from the Subcontinent. The menu items are consistent, and it is evident the owner puts care into the dishes he prepares. He also has made many improvements to the space over the years. My only concern is that the servers seem not to stick around very long as there is a different person nearly every time we visit and at times they are working the floor on their own- to be fair, sometimes were the only ones there. That said, we are always pleased with our meal!

Two weeks ago my wife and I went to Seattle WA for business and pleasure trip. As soon as we reached Seattle, start looking for some good Pakistani food and found this place 5 miles from our hotel. We are glad that we found them. Their service, food and hospitality were excellent. Price was fair. Food reminds me of Pakistan. We liked it so much that we went back the day before leaving Seattle. We Loved it. Keep upthe good work and Good luck to management.we will be back!

My family and I came to Seattle from St. Louis. We were looking for a restaurant late at night, and we decided to try this place. We are very glad we did. The food was amazing and the staff was very friendly and courteous. Our waitress was especially kind and took care of us very well. Comfortable atmosphere and clean restrooms as well. They even gave us complimentary desserts. This place deserves five stars without a doubt.

My favorite restaurant: The best Indian food Ive had in Seattle and in Colorado combine [which are the only two states that Ive ever lived in.] I eat here probably 2 or 3 times a month. I usually get the chicken masala with a side of garlic naan and Ive never been disappointed. Its always a delicious treat and the people who work there are super nice. I try to tell everyone I can about this place because their food is so awesome!

Excellent food! My first time with Pakistani food and I was very pleased! I had the mint Lamb special(recommended by the waiter) and my friend had the mango curry chicken. Both were excellent. Also, try the breads, great flavors! The service excellent, the waiter who I think was the owner was extremely nice and helpful. I will come back again, maybe to the buffet, every day 11-3. (Recommend by the waiter)

Went here with some friends on a whim not really expecting much. It came with good reviews from my friends so I figured why not. I had the spicy lamb tiki masala, and it was fantastic! Good amount of heat and packed with flavors. I will definitely be returning. The only problem is that I wont want to try anything else after knowing how delicious the masala is!

I am a New Yorker who has been in Seattle for over 6 years. The lamb koorma was excellent, the naan was amazing and the host, Aliya, is so sweet and kind. Im not sure what else one would want from a dining experience. Oh, andt here prices were reasonable! Thank you, Aliya and everyone at Garam Masala - I will be back!
