The raita was good. The biryani looked and tasted like it had been cooked a week ago. For the cost, the amount of food was quite small (and freshness quite lacking). One of the staff members seemed genuinely friendly. Upon entering, she invited me to sit wherever I like, then literally a minute later was told (not asked) that I needed to move to a smaller table by one of the least friendly waitresses Ive encountered anywhere. She intermittently seemed to try to fake being friendly, but it didnt work. I have enough compassion to see that she seems like a very unhappy person, but if you cant be friendly, why are you working a service job? And especially, why at a place which could make for a calming, therapeutic experience for the patron? Im very open minded about restaurants, but this place seemed weird in a bad way.

Recommend this place as a must try for those in Seattle who want to try some authentic Indian food (Not for those who are fond of extremely spicy food and non-vegetarian only). Found this place while I was traveling in Washington. Its a small place with casual & cozy set-up with additional outdoor seating. Menu items are straight out of what gets cooked in Indians houses traditionally and you probably wont find this in other Indian restaurants in US. Until I asked the waitress while paying for my food, I had no clue that the chef was an american and would have never guessed it. They have new seasonal menu every month and have limited options in their menu. I should probably give an extra star for their non-commercial, small business & actual Indian food dining experience.

This is amazing place in Seattle. Very cozy, and a unique Indian Restaurant in whole Northwest USA. Limited menu (which I like) changing frequently to keep it surprisingly interesting. They serve dishes I could never think of at traditional Indian Restaurants. Last time I had Kaddu with Punjabi Vadi. I was so surprised, Punjabi Vadi at Indian Restaurant in USA !!!!! This is an icon of Seattle. Any foodie visiting Seattle should definitely try this place. No Indian restaurant in state of Washington can match this restaurant in creativity. Believe me, I have tried almost all of them. This place is for foodies who value culinary art, not for Cheapos who look for $5/kg biryani at dusty corner for taxi drivers.

A great place with soothing ambience n beautifully decorated interior. You are going to enjoy your time here but the thali is not up to mark as per Indian taste (the kind of food we are used to, full of spices). They definitely tried to be creative, experimenting with food but the thali had no curry (veggie cooked with gravy) and had only daal which too was insufficient for the rice n chapati they provide. I would suggest to include some curry items along with daal. The staff n service was appreciable. Also you can get some Indian groceries n sweets from here. Only if the thali is made better, this place deserves a five star.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS, I came in to those Resturant while half full, ordered my food, me and the wife got the same thing pretty simple and not much at all, TOOK THEM ONE HOUR AND TEN MINUTES to give me my food, it was small portions and the curry wasnt even that good. Less than decent. Two entrees and two nans came out to be 43 dollars. I couldnt believe with prices like these and HORRIBLE WAIT TIMES, the service was this bad. I finished my food in ten minutes and just left so disappointed. I WANT MY MONEY BACK.

Terrible service. The kitchen was open till 9 PM and we reached the restaurant by 8.40 PM. Soon, we ordered for Thali and waited for the food. The waiter first comes and tells us that they would replace Dal with Chole for which we were ok. After 20 mins, the waiter comes again and tells us that they are out of Thalis and very few items from the menu are available. I wouldnt mind if I was informed much earlier but after waiting for 20 mins that too during the kitchen closing time was ridiculous.

Pretty close to authentic Indian home made food... only less spicy. Only reason for deducting a star is chapati.. it was frozen one. Had full size thali, and i was able to finish it along with a lassi. Staff was super friendly. All in all I will come back again. Forget to mention.. salty lassi was pretty spicy and one of the best Ive had recently. Edit: bumping to 5 start after my 2nd visit. Dont miss Seattles best salt lassi.

Other Indian restaurants need to learn from them what real Indian food tastes like. This restaurant serves Indian food, the way it is meant to be served, in steel utensils. They break the stereotype of Indian food in America which is "Indian food is only curry and spice". If youre bored seeing the same menu at all Indian restaurants in Seattle and Bellevue, this restaurant is for you.

I really liked the food here, the Thali, garlic naan and chats. But, the serve time was too slow. They accepted this fact when I spoke with them, but its just weird waiting for food for a long time. Its a testimony of how good the food is that I am willing to go try again inspire of the serve time. I really hope they reduce the serve time, it would make it my regular dinner place.

Probably my favorite place to eat out in Seattle. Authentic Indian food and its all vegetarian which is great! So tasty, the samosas are my favorite pick every time. Great kheer too. I love it when they relate the thali of the month to festivals at that time of year. Their October thali was inspired. Im fortunate enough to live close by so I go all the time.

The place is under staffed. We ordered two thali and Lassi. They gave us only one thali and no Lassi. The food is not at all authentic Indian; it looks Indian but tastes like packaged MTR food. The roti also tasted like frozen one. One thali is $22 but it has only one roti and one katori (small bowl) rice. We are highly disappointed.

Authentic Indian food but very pricey and the portion sizes are not justified for the quantity they provide. Either reduce the price or increase the quantity and maintain the quality. The restaurant can be experimental with their choice of dishes offered in a Thali. But $20 for a full Thali is too much.

This a good place to eat. The portions are generous and inexpensive. The dishes are tasty enough, though without the richness of spice Ive enjoyed at other Indian restaurants; whether this is more truly like Indian home-style cooking, I cant judge. Their menu changes monthly. Ill certainly be back.

Event though the food is very good. They lack service. It takes atleast one hour after ordering for the food to arrive. If you want to have quick fast food then this is not the place. If you complain then the servers acknowledge that its going to be late which doesnt make any sense.

We were driving back from Vancouver, and I stopped here with my family before heading off to the airport to go back home, and I must say, their food is delicious! Each item had the right amount of spices to make it good and flavorful. It was great, definitely would go again!

The best tasting Indian food in Seattle...Period. The place rotates menu (thalli) every month with focus on one region of India. The ambience is not the greatest on a busy day but the food makes up for it. Be ready for a decent wait on weekends.
