Loved it! Weve walked past here (live around the corner) many times in the past seven months since we moved here and weve kept saying we should try it ... and finally did. And Im so glad we did! We had the appetizer sampler, bhuna lamb ghost, and eggplant bhartha (went medium on the spice scale per our servers suggestion when we couldnt decide) and were very happy indeed. The lamb in particular was sublime -- loved the mint in the dish. Our server was super-attentive; the meal was great -- were going be regulars, no question!

A 3 year old with an iPad could tell you that cap hills abundance of Indian buffets means there will inevitably be winners and losers, and while New India Express is no culinary winner, it makes up for any shortcoming with exceptional service. The owner is a sweet lady who always remembers you and sees to your meal with a conversation beyond pleasantries. The food is good, and the price is right. The decor is a really quite tasteful, and having been around for quite some time, this restaurant knows what its doing.

I hate that Indian restaurants in the US think that they can pass off 10 million different entrees with NO difference, save the protein, and think we wont notice!!?? I just ordered kashmiri chicken and a potato paneer veggie entree. All they did was scoop up the same sauce from the chicken dish, and mix some cheese in the veggie with the same sauce for the veggie entree. SERIOUSLY? Do they think that none of us have ever been to India...never lived in Britain??!! Were not STUPID! Knock it off!!!

Solid Ruby open super late, Im giving it 5 stars just for that. Ive done late night take out from here twice and was very pleased with quality. With all due respect its not the best in Seattle but it is very good. Their rice is fantastic, very flavorful and aromatic. Im a Kormas guy and they do it well here... Nan was also very nice too. Friendly service, open late, very tasty, do it and give it a go, hopefully youll be as pleased as me.

Worst Indian food ever!! Buffet had dry old chicken that tasted rotten. They did not have any green chilis, hard to believe for an Indian restaurant the cucumber and carrots were all stuck together completely frozen Green food coloring in the mint chutney which was atrocious also I had to get up and leave after eating some of the buffet food. Shameful they call this Indian food. Try Annapurna - Down the street very good.

I just stopped by there yesterday with a friend from out of town whod never had Indian food before. While not my first time and knowing what to expect, my friend was blown away. As always, the food was amazing and the service was excellent. This is probably my 3rd or 4th time at New India Express and I have to say that everything I have tried there has been a delight.

I am from India and was looking for good Indian found in Seattle and got lucky. Overall food taste was excellent. I liked especially the Veg Briyani and I heard good comments from my non-veggie friends too. Well maintained. Owners here are from Nepal and they provide great customer service. Would visit this again.

Love this place. Authentic spices! Ive never been here for the lunch buffet, so cant comment on that, but the entrees for dinner have always been phenomenal. The service is top-notch too--our server always gives us free basmati rice refills. This is my go-to Indian place on the hill.

Slowest service ever experienced. Also the fact that we were at the restaurant and ordered food before other people came in didnt change anything, as if they played favorites and most of the customers ate and left and here we are ....still waiting for lentils and rice ...

After being there a few times, I have gotten treated not like a customer but something a bit more. They are very friendly and when I took someone who hadnt had that type of food, they took the time to help them find the right food.

Ive been going for years, and enjoying the friendly atmosphere and good food. Great delivery if you live nearby, but made sure to stop by at least once to meet the owners. Great butter chicken!

Pricy, but great Indian food! And theyll even carry your meal to you for free if you live nearby (be warned that the minimum order makes this a bit pricy if youre ordering for two or less).

Really bad food. The chicken was dry and felt old. The place itself although in a nice part of town felt old and run down.
