Love this place: a dingy, classic wooden bar that attracts the grad students, the regulars, and those who like a chill bar to play pool or hang out. The bar is roomy with two pool tables, darts, and two large back rooms with one being able to be reserved and the other for large groups. There is a fireplace where you can also warm yourself in the winter months. The staff are very relaxed and friendly (heads up: order food from your table!) The food is bar food but good food (especially the pub nachos) and not that pricey. The beers are mainly consistent with a good handful of rotating taps. I would recommend this for anyone who likes a cozy hangout place that is a lot more relaxed than the younger bars on the Ave.

Authentic atmosphere, dark and pub like. Beer selection is small for a pub but what they have is good and not all mainstream. Food is mediocre, descent bar food. Cheap food, beer is not. Grad student and professor hangout. Not a "young person" bar. Pool and darts are cheap. Great for groups get togethers.

The place has really good food for a pub, and their drinks are actually decently strong. The atmosphere is fantastic and reminds me of a place you would see in Europe. I found myself doing a double take multiple times. I will easily go back there.

Stopped in for a couple beers and lunch while my mom was in the hospital. I was one of a few people in there. Was a little awkward. Was not welcoming for someone who doesnt frequent the place regularly. Food and beer was good though.

My old graduate student haunt hasnt changed much. Seems a bit spendier but at least it still looks the same and is now smoke free (like all of Seattle - but it was in a basement so was particularly bad).

I loved this bar in 1999, and very little has changed, in either opinion or bar. Not only is this a pillar of habit for the true UW OCD thinkers, its a pillar in the college era of the history of my life.

Bar popular with grad students and professors. Feels like the town bar out of a DND game, dark and dingy, underground, great place to play board games! Ive never tried the food but the beer is good.
