I consider this to be one of my favorite Indian restaurants anywhere Ive been. Their food is always fresh and freshly made, their sauces are made in-house daily, and the two chutneys they serve are so good Ive asked for jars of them at times. The menu changes from time to time, and everything Ive had there has been lovely. And after a conversation I had with the owner when they first opened under new ownership (note that despite keeping the name, this is no longer the same chain as other Chutneys locations in Seattle -- its much better!), he greets me whenever I go in -- which is sadly more rare, after moving out of Seattle. I make it a point to go each time Im back in town, though! Delicious. Go if you can. :)

Warm pleasant ambience, well decorated and courteous, efficient service. Our Onion Bhajiya appetizer was fresh, crisp, delicious and accompanied by excellent mint and tamarind chutneys. We tried one of their signature dishes, Hariyali Chicken Kebab boneless chicken breast marinated with mint, cilantro and their own spice paste and then baked in a clay oven. The chicken was bright green (appropriate for St. Patrick"s Day!) and lived up to the billing. Definitely worth trying. The Chicken Tikka Masala was a little too tomatoey and sweet for my taste so I wouldnt order it again. The butter naan was fresh and crisp as expected. Overall an excellent dining experience

Great Food and Service! We dined here for the second time last night and the food was even better than the first time! We met the owner (who has owned the restaurant for about a year) and he was very excited to talk about the menu and the new food they are trying. They have authentic Indian dishes and our favorites so far are the Lamb Rogan Josh, Eggplant Bharta, and Tikka Masala. But they also have some non-traditional concoctions like the Indian pizza appetizer which was fantastic! They refilled my chai 5 times last night too! Thats great service. We will definitely be going back and I recommend this restaurant to any lover of Indian food.

Excellent and Unique Experience. Each time we have gone to Chutneys we have are treated like a first time customer. The owner and staff take exceptional care of their customers. The food is phenomenal; strong spices and flavor in unique traditional Indian dishes. They have new specials every couple weeks so the menu never gets old, and the owner and staff do a great job of explaining the dishes as well as their authentic background. I LOVE going to Chutneys. The service, the food, the atmosphere, even the beer is different than you will find anywhere else. Certainly worth the trip for those who do not live down the street.

The rave reviews on here make me a little suspicious (who are all these "local guides"?) but hopefully you can trust me because I am from out of town! Real Indian food relies on good seasoning bc it is primarily vegetarian and ok this place possibly garners it good reviews for meat dishes that I did not try but ... the veggie dishes I had here were just dire. Spinach paneer and dal were expensive and honestly the food tastes Mexican. Embarrassed to have fallen for this! Roti around the corner is ten times better for authentic flavor, is a nicer setting and is about the same price. Go there instead!

This place is awesome. I ordered here after being new to the neighborhood and when I went to pick up my order and paid, I apologized because I forgot to add an extra side of naan bread to my order. When I handed them my card to pay for my mistake, they told me not to worry about paying for it! I couldnt believe it. I now order their delivery (which the host recommended to me when I picked up my order) and its been correct every single time! Very polite employees on the phone- which is a huge deal to me.

Tasty! Had the old standby, chicken tikka-masala, and the lamb rogan josh. The chicken was creamy and the lamb had a good blend of spices. The basmati rice was good too and the garlic naan was very fluffy, warm, and flavorful. The portions were also good. Two people ate without feeling full to bursting but were satisfied. My companion had the sweet lassi and she thought it was very, very good. The biiiig downside is finding parking in lower Queen Anne on a Saturday night, good luck!!!

We visited Chutneys for lunch on a weekend prior to attending a matinee performance at the Seattle Rep nearby. This was our first visit and the food was amazing. We shared the Chicken Tikka Saagwala and the Aaloo Gobi for our entrées, followed by the Kheer and Gulab Jamun for dessert. It was a difficult choice as there were many other menu selections that were just as tempting. But all that means is were already planning our next visit to Chutneys.

Food prices a bit high.. $16 for entrée, really? Food portion small (small dish for the entrée). Food itself was mediocre, though Im not an Indian-food type of person. The chicken marsala (sp?) was in a red sauce and small bowl, tasted similar to a spaghetti ragu with cubed chicken. I didnt like it. Bathroom was somewhat clean. The servers (though friendly enough) started to clear the table before people were fully done, so it was a bit awkward.

Food and service arent bad, everything is somewhat pricey for what you get, particularly the wine list($11 for a glass of an unimpressive bottle that runs $14). Suffers from there being a number of very good restaurants in the vicinity. Does work as a gluten free option prior to attending something at Seattle Center. As another reviewer mentioned, there are some rarer Indian dishes available here, which adds some pleasant variety.

Delicious food. We got the bread basket-it is a sampler of naan. I liked the rosemary, my boyfriend really liked the butter and the garlic naan. For main entrées we had a lamb dish and chicken briyani. Both were excellent. The Mango lassi was yummy, and tasted fresh and not overly sweet. Over all it was a great dinning experience with delicious left overs to look forward to tomorrow.

Best Indian restaurant Ive found in Seattle. Very good Butter Chicken and Tikka Masala. Excellent roasted tomato sauce base in their dishes. They also are one of the very few restaurants in Seattle who deliver quickly. If I had to complain about anything it would be that they dont offer a Vindaloo or Phall Curry. Would love to taste that heat in their roasted tomato sauce!

The food here is really good. We ordered everything vegan and gluten free and I definitely enjoyed my meal. We got the Onion Bhajiya, Eggplant Bharta and Daal Tadka. We got varying degrees of spiciness and the food did not disappoint. The price was a little much for the amount of food we received, but will come here again.

Terrible Paneer tikka masala from refrigerator surely made few days back which was just Paneer in yucky reddish tomato sauce. Moreover priced unrealistic 13$. The hostess seemed too rash and blunt customer unfriendly and robotic. We had visited in past and was better but today was terrible. This place is avoidable.
