Ummmmm! Amazing! I go to this place by myself on rainy days. Great spot to sit and take in the day sometimes. Friendly staff with huge smiles! I also get takeout all the time and its ready in a timely matter. They package it nicely so even when youre late to pick it up, its still warm and ready! Their naan is amazing. Not overly thin or overly thick in places. Just perfect. I attempt to try a new dish every time and never am unhappy. Their butter chicken, samosas, multigawany soup, aloo gobi and any other veggie dish is amazing! The kashmiri special w chicken is insanity. I cant really tell you in words how good this place is. If I get take out one day, Im ordering from there for the next 2 days! ADDICTING.

This is the best Indian food in Seattle. PERIOD. I have been to many Indian restaurants in the city, and none of them hold a candle to Kanak and its sister restaurant, Mirch Masala. The family that owns both are friendly and happy, and their food is fantastic. My favorites are the butter chicken, pakoras, samosas, and, for a special treat, the paneer or aloo naan. This place has a cozy, warm feeling with traditional Indian music quietly playing in the background, and it you dont want to eat there, you can order online to eat at home. I highly highly recommend!!

Great restaurant! Weve eaten at almost every Indian restaurant in Seattle, and have had excellent Indian food when we lived in NYC for 10 years and traveled in India extensively. Kanak is up there with the best. Their fresh ingredients, excellent preparation, service, presentation, and price are all perfect. We live in Shoreline and have made the drive down to Capitol Hill just to have dinner with them. We love their list of vegan options, and really appreciate the kindness of the staff. So happy we found them, highly recommended!

Kanak is an amazing restaurant! When I want to impress family or friends, this is the restaurant I take them to. So far every item I have tried on the menu has been downright delicious. The lunch and dinner menus offer plenty of vegetarian and non-dairy items clearly labelled and the service was fast and friendly. My two favorite dishes so far are the Lamb Butter Masala and the Kashmiri naan. As a person with fairly low spice tolerance, when I order dishes as "medium spicy" they pleasantly hot without making me sweat.

Kanak satiated my craving for authentic Indian food on a Wednesday night. I was the only patron in the dining room, which was cozy and colorful. The server was very pleasant and kind, even giving me extra rice to take home with my leftovers. I had the goa coconut curry with lamb at a spice of 3 (1-5 scale). It tasted perfect and the lamb was tender. Garlic basil naan was tasty and mango lassi refreshing. Im so glad I went.

Our favorite Indian place in Seattle so far. (Weve tried about five so far.) After visiting a few times the food has been consistently good although the spice level isnt always consistent. The service is good although not always fast so if youre in a rush it might not be the best option. (They do to go as an option though.) Theyre also available for delivery via Amazon, and perhaps other services.

I wouldnt recommend it at all, if youre an Indian and loves authentic indian food. Dont go here. I ordered a biryani and the way they made it is they just mixed some sweet chicken curry into the white rice. Chunks of white plain rice can be seen everywhere in my plate. If they dont even know how to cook Biryani, they better consider how theyd make other dishes.

Pretty good. I love 3 blocks from the whole 15th ave strip, and good Indian food is very welcome there. Very friendly staff, food was better than a lot of Indian places in Seattle. Not mindblowing, but definitely a step above what youd normally expect. As a huge fan of takeout Indian food, I imagine Ill be there a lot.

Kanak has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants, and absolutely the best spot to go for a delicious, no-stress weeknight dinner. Its right in my neighborhood, and Im thrilled to have it as an addition to the other restaurants on 15th. Their chicken korma may be the best of anywhere Ive tried it, give it a shot!

I enjoy trying several regions of Indian food. Kanak was very different. My panner tikka masala had a, "marinara-spaghetti" flavor. Im not sure, but I think it basil instead of cilantro. It lacked the butter-creamy flavor I craved. Naan had olive oil. Flavorful, quaint, clean, good service. Not my style at all.

As a vegetarian that loves Indian food I know my paneer and their shahi paneer dish is exceptional. Their naan, however, was okay--and by okay I mean it was a little burnt. Bonus points for being able to order my food on an app and pay with PayPal.

Delicious, Indian curry. Nearly as good as what you get in the UK. Reasonable pricing and good service. Try to avoid tripping on the steps on your way in/out. Bring your reading glasses of you need them--its dark inside.

I ordered the lamb bati kabob at a medium spice, it was flavorful but the lamb was literally so dry that I couldnt eat it. But the veggies and naan were good.

Had worst biryani of my life. No taste at all. Also ordered vegetarian mixed platter in which paneer pakoda was so hard to eat. And samosa was half burnt.

Terrific food!!! The wait staff seemed put out by a large group. Maybe just an off night? Id go back anyhow for the fantastic grub.
