After reading the great reviews here, I took a visitor there for dinner. There were 2 other tables occupied and it was 15 minutes before someone would saunter over to our table. We ordered the chicken vindaloo (3/5 spiciness) and vegetable biriyani (4/5). My guest, who doesnt handle spicy food well, thought his chicken vindaloo was OK. I can handle spicy food quite well but I found the biriyani to be extremely spicy to the extent that I couldnt taste anything else in it. It was as if the cook massively screwed up and dumped twice the amount of chillies. Compared to this, a 5/5 would be pure chillies. The cook is clearly an amateur unable to balance flavors and tastes. To add insult to injury, I mentioned to the lady waiter about the spiciness and she said this was a 4 and thats how it is. I found that quite insulting and not at all customer friendly. I would recommend strongly against patronizing this restaurant, especially when the Ave has so many other Indian restaurants.

Wonderful Food! Last night was the first time I have been to this restaurant 3 blocks from my house. A friend and I met up here because we both love Indian and this place seemed very ambient and welcoming. I loved the quait atmosphere of simplicity and its humble slot on the Ave. My friend ordered the Chicken Biryani (like chicken curry fried rice) and I ordered the Palak Paneer (spinach curry w/ cheese cubes). Both were delicious, and I thought the chicken in her order was exceptionally tender. All the spices in my dish were right on, but I had this presupposition already as I think the Indians do curry the best!

Just ate there. Owners were very friendly. Groupon deal was 50% off. Curry has a lot of meat, naan is big and tasty. How Indian is suppose to be. Biryani was not for me as I am more use to Iranian Biryani, but it was good. We preferred the curry though. 5 spicy was perfect. Just to the cusp of being too spicy to eat, but still having flavor, which is how I like it. I would just add some bollywood videos on a tv. Huge portions. Can easily split two naans and one curry meal which comes with rice and yogurt. $15 dollar meal for two and done.

I think we were trying to go to a different indian resturaunt buy our gps took us here. Walked in and business was completely dead. The owners just vaguely stared at us for a while way saying something in their language and then seated us after a like 20 second akward stare. Wasnt the biggest fan on their butter chicken, didnt taste authentic neither did the mango lassi. The garlic naan was fire though. Used the bathroom and all of the supplies are basically stored in the bathroom area. Never again. Feel bad leaving a bad review.

The best Indian restaurant in all of Seattle with a killer buffet. They have many vegetarian and vegan options, even during the buffet. They are an incredibly nice family, even though its been years since Ive lived in the U.D. I still get a warm welcome with every visit. They deliver and have a delivery area much larger than anywhere else in the city. Ive found that theyll meet me just about anywhere so I make sure show my gratitude with a healthy tip. Theyre the best!! A+ Try the mango lassi!

Great. Best all you can eat Indian in the UW area. Not too noisy. The spice in the buffet foods is not dumbed down. Best of all they frequently have goat curry on the buffet. Their sauces and chutneys are from the kitchen. They automatically bring out a truly large flat bread hot from the oven with each buffet purchase. A bit pricey for the ambiance, but you see that they are not in any way scrimping on the food cost, especially the true gut level deep melange of the various spice bases

We visited this place based on its 4.6 review, but sadly I wont give even 1 to their food. The quality of food in buffet is hideous. Nothing looks freshly cooked in buffet, not even tea. We also ordered Malai Kofta which was OK, and their naan is huge. The owner greeted us very well. Restaurant is located near University of Washington and you can find weed sellers/gangsters outside who are very violent and abusive. This is not the place to dine with family or friends.

I love this place. Great little family runs this on 45th near the University of Washington, which adds to the charm. They have great indian food to boot, with a buffet (standard these days at these indian restaurants, at least in Seattle) and great dinner options at night. Takeout is good. Way above average indian food but its just nice to go in there and have a great, nice family helping you out. Really nice..

Even though all i get is Uber Eats from this place, its been absolutely the best indian Ive had heard. Very flavorful without being to spicy and evrything is just as rich and warm as you could hope. Seriously i cant say enough about Jewel of Indias food. Its amazing. I dont get Uber eats unless Im treating myself and apparently Ive been treating myself for the last 2 months. INCREDIBLE

I had lunch buffet at Jewel of India when I was visiting Seattle...It has been the best Indian meal I have had in USA so far.It was like how my mom cooks it..even the tea was so home like. They usually keep the spices low but you can have them make it spicier. The owner of the place is a very nice lady who made everything comfortable for us.Would love to eat there again.

I love Indian food and I spent some time living in India. I have been to Bombay Grill, Cedars, Taste of India and all the other places. Nothing is better than Jewel of India. Plus it is cheaper than the other places. Really nice couple who run the restaurant and they have an incredible lunch buffet. I cant recommend this place more!

As a student at the UW, Jewel of India has been for the past four years my go-to for Indian food. The lunch buffet has plenty of delicious options at a very reasonable price, even for a college student. The delivery service is just as excellent; fast, convenient, and the kind sir always greets you with a smile. 10/10 recommend!

My favourite Indian restaurant in Seattle!! The nicest family owners and the most reliably perfectly spiced Indian food. After 20 years of my dedicated patronage, Never too much hot red chili oil floating on top of their buffet selections that is the sign of too many, American S.E.Asian Indian, restaurants impending demise.

Great Curry! I swear it tastes like candy. Im pretty sure you can get some lamb meat in your Curry as well. Tastes great! Definitely not giving out American portions, but reasonably priced for some authentic Indian food. Really relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Would recommend anybody wanting to try something different.

This is my favorite Indian restaurant in Seattle. I ordered from this place for the first time a few months ago based purely on their reviews on GrubHub. And, Im in love. The Mango Curry w/ chicken is absolutely wonderful, and I also love their take on Tikka Masala and Shahi Korma. You cant go wrong with these guys.

THE best Indian food I have eaten anywhere. The atmosphere is OK but I would go there for the OUTSTANDING food even if it was a hole in the wall. Try the mango chicken. Mmmm. Outstanding food and service. The lady that serves the food is extremely polite, knowledgeable and friendly. BEST EVER restaurant!
