Any restaurant can give you a bad experience; the thing to look for is, how do they react? Do they compound it? My wife and I went to Blueacre Seafood on a Sunday evening, it was about 6 PM and the place was not too busy. We asked to be seated outside, as the A/C was very cold. The hostess was very gracious and had a table set up for us. When she brought the menus, we asked if we could give her our drink order, but she said she would send the server over right away. About 5 or 10 minutes later, the server came by and apologized, saying she didnt see us. We said, no worries at all! She took our drink order, I asked for bourbon with a cup of ice on the side. As we were ready to order by then, we gave our food order as well. 10 minutes later, an appetizer arrived for my wife. No drinks yet. I told her to start, and 5 or 10 minutes later our drinks arrived - minus my ice. I said that I had asked for ice on the side, and the server said, "Ill get that for you right away." No apology, but hey, no big deal right? After another 15 minutes, Im annoyed at the delay so I get up to go to the bar to get my ice - my wifes drink was melting. Just then the server arrived with the ice. Again, no apology for taking so long. But OK, now we have our drinks. 10 minutes later the server arrives to ask if we want dessert. No, but we would like our dinner, we say. "Oh, let me check on that," she says. Again, no apology. After another 15 minutes or so, the food finally arrives, delivered by an assistant. My wifes salad, and my burger - but with bacon on it, which I did not order and which was not on the menu. I dont eat bacon, so I let him know, and he says hell get it made right; but I tell him to please leave the fries because were really hungry by then. He goes away, I take a french fry, and its cold. That means that our food was sitting there for several minutes before anyone picked it up. Now we wait, and wait, and wait...finally my wife picks up her phone and calls the restaurant (we are outside, remember), and says that if the food is not ready now then we would just like our check. The hostess says, "Let me check on that right away." Sound familiar? Well, we sit for 5 more minutes and finally I get up and walk inside to tell her just to give us our check and well go. She is coming out with the burger, and I tell her I dont want it, I just want our bill. She apologizes (our server has NEVER apologized for any of her poor service), and offers to give it to us to go. I politely say no thank you, please just give us the bill. She says not to worry about it and we walk out. Very, very disappointed. The server screwed up time after time, only checked on us once, and never apologized. Really poor service, I will not go back and would not recommend to anyone.

We came on a Sunday, my wife ordered the scallops, and you could smell them before they left the kitchen. Described as "fresh" they must have taken the slow train from the East Coast. They looked like they had been "seared" by dropping them into a deep fryer and had been turned into hockey pucks. My wife wisely returned them as being inedible. Our other two fish dishes were edible but uninspired, as was the salad and the desert. Too much butter and oil on the fish, but under seasoned. All in all, very old-fashioned and tired looking food. Perhaps the Sunday cook doesnt know what he is doing? -- but the recipes seem pretty clueless too. The tables look like they are from a high school cafeteria, and the chairs from a Dennys. Replace them and you could have an attractive decor. Makes one want to cry -- it seems like someone who knows what they are doing could turn around this restaurant pretty easily! Very expensive for the quality.

Went here for a lunch meeting. I loved my Dungeness Crabmeat "BLC" Sandwich. It was almost unmanageable to eat as a sandwich but the overall tastiness of it made up for that. However, the service was disappointing. We had reservations but the host seemed more disoriented than professional when we informed her of this. It wasnt even busy but everyone just seemed distracted and inattentive. Our drinks were taken and then it was awhile before our orders were taken... and instead of our original server taking our orders, someone else had to ask us if our orders had been taken. Refills for our drinks had to be brought to their attention -- no one was prompt enough to make sure that they stay filled. I will probably come back for the delicious food hoping that the bad service that day is not how it usually is for this place... If it were to happen again though, Id rather go elsewhere.

Went to Blueacre Seafood with my husband on a Sunday for our 2nd Anniversary. The atmosphere was generally nice with a lot of blue colors. The tables were spaced out nicely, however it wouldve been nice if the tables were covered with table cloth but they werent which made me feel like I wasnt in a fancy restaurant, which Blueacre is supposed to be. The food was good but nothing to rave home about. I ordered the Crab cake which was delicious and the King Salmon was okay. Got a bottle of Italian moscato which was really good. Over all, I gave this place a 3 because although the service was really good, the restaurant is way over-priced for the food and atmosphere and they charge a 20% gratuity... Honestly, you would be better off going to some place else like Saltys on Alki Beach if you want to get your moneys worth in terms of food and ambiance.

They have a 3 course pre-fix menu for $38. They also have a happy hour menu from 3pm to 6pm, with oysters at $1.50 and discounted drinks. To note, they automatically add 20% gratuity to every check. My waiter was difficult to find at times and my water glass was empty ar times so I dont think I wouldve given 20% on my own. As for thr food, it was good and fresh. I ordered a steak medium rare, but it was medium well done. It was tender at least. The cod was good however. The salmon friters were fresh but okay. I was not amazed by it. The strawberry sorbet was refreshing and good. When I went again for happy hour at 3pm, the restaurant was quieter and the waitress was attentative. The oysters were really good as well. I would recommend this restaurant for the seafood.

steelhead diners sister restaurant..Two thumbs up for their $1 Oyster Happy Hour (7 days a week)!! The oysters were extremely fresh and shucked to perfection. blueacre offered a variety of different oysters to try - this was another plus as most HH places limit you to one type of oyster. We came on Sat and went back again on Sunday just for the oysters! The servers provided excellent customer service which made the meal much more enjoyable. This place is great for small or large groups, quite spacious and CLEAN. I cant comment on their regular menu since I didnt try it, but I would def. come back here specifically for their Oysters during happy hour!!
