I have to caveat this review and break it into sections because some elements were VERY good. Atmosphere - Four and a half stars, wonderful timber building with woodsy decor, fireplaces and timber tables. Would have liked soft music instead of birds chirping but all in all a beautiful place. Food - Four stars. Aside from the salmon being a bit overcooked and the sparse vegetables (we love our veggies) the food was very good and presented nicely. While I felt the food was a bit overpriced it was good. Service - One star. I have never been to a restaurant of this caliber and seen such a disorganized staff. It seemed they were, using an old military term, "milling about sharply." Which means look busy and dont worry about getting anything done. I made the comment that the owners possibly bought the business and hired all their friends to help. They were literally at our table four times all night: 1) Drink orders 2) Delivered drinks and took order (Long pause) 3) delivered food (another long pause) 4) brought the check (after we asked). So while the atmosphere and food were very good the service was equally bad, averaging those scores end up with three.

Horrible experience for a very special birthday night for my husband. Took forever to get our order in. Then hardly ever seen the waitress at all. My mother managed resurants my entire life so I know good service and we did not get it. The food was overpriced for the quality. The prime rib was mostly FAT and I was asked if I wanted soup or salad. I said salad thinking it was included but to my surprise the not fresh lettus with cheese was an additional $6.99 on top of the $34.99 for a 12oz piece of fat with snap peas about 12 of them and a dry baked potato covered in sour cream and about three small chunks of bacon. We were not even asked if we wanted desert or anything else not how was your meal just handed the bill and that was it. When I got home I called and the man that answered didnt even sound conceded about my complaint. He stated the salad is separate and that was about it. Not even an apology for the horrible experience. So sad that I loved here to this town and was treated so poorly.

We were vacationing in Quilcene for 2 nights. We tried to walk in at the Timberhouse on a Saturday night, never considering a small town restaurant would require reservations. They were booked solid. We wound up eating at the 101 Brewery. Later, we called the Timberhouse because we wanted to get the chocolate cake to-go for dessert. They gave it to us on the house in condolence for being unable to eat our whole meal there! Totally shocked us! We decided to go back to the Timberhouse for lunch the next day and we had a superb meal. I whole-heartedly recommend this place for a nice meal. Great ambiance, too.

Beautiful hiking lodge-like setting inside and out by the Olympic Forest, quiet and restful inside. Food preparation was a bit long (15+ minutes for fish&chips and a grilled)sandwich but the waitress and service personnel were very pleasant, the lunch food was plentiful and very tasty. The price was reasonable considering the portions, which allowed us seniors to take half home for another meal. No senior portions or half-orders available. We will doubtless come again and would invite friends, perhaps ordering an appetizer to occupy us during food preparation (or a book).

horrible!! terrible lighting, was served bloody raw pork, and the owner said "thats how we do it around here". OK, soooo you like to possibly kill people? the side was crap. under cooked hard potatoes, and store bought snap peas. the Crab cakes were made of canned crab meat. This coming from the puget sound with the best Dungeness crab on earth two miles down the road. The pan fried trout was covered in cheap canola oil and was cooked from frozen. And it is priced as a fine dining restaurant. Soooooo not worth it.

Our party of six had a really great lunch here. The food is fresh, well seasoned, and delicious. This was the first time in my sixty-plus years of dining out, that a server actually said, "It wasnt the kitchens fault, I forgot to put in the order" when one dish arrived late. Bravo! Lovely ambience, quality food, and super people.

Unexpected Pleasant Surprise! Noticed the restaurant while driving by and it looked appealing especially with the number of cars in the lot. The good review hooked me. Found everything to be excellent to include the food, service and aptnosphere. Highly recommend!

Incredible place. Beautiful woodwork all over. Relaxed atmosphere. Food was delicious and reasonably priced for a higher-end meal. We were pleasantly surprised by our random stop driving through, and well definitely plan to stop again anytime were in the area.

I love the Timberhouse Restaurant! Great food, with casual items like burgers to more elaborate entrees like prime rib. The decor is kitschy Northwest lodge, which I find very charming. They often play bird noises over the speakers. A gem on the peninsula!

Delicious! We have a cabin close to here. Have wanted to stop before. Our 36 wedding Anniversary seemed a good time. Highly recommend the Mount Walker Manhattan! Crab dip! Sending our son and his wife here for their Anniversary in July.

If the food wasnt so good this would have been a single star review. The staff was just so disappointing, we waited over 15 minutes after our server cleared our table, anticipating a nice desert, but she never even asked! We left.

Great burger, great atmosphere, service was good, moderately crowded--we had no wait for our table at 7:00p on Saturday night. Prices are a little high. We would definitely return.

The food was pretty good but not worth the premium charge. The duck was overdone and rubbery. The prime rib was ok. Creme Brule was great!
