Well finding parking was hell in the first place because I was sick and didnt feel like going very far in the freezing cold. So finally I get this out of the way. I go in order a regular burrito all beans no rice. Then I get to the car to discover that it is full of rice. So I take it back and she acts like I said no beans. I know for a fact I said no rice. So round three. She hands me my burrito and says, "all beans, no rice." So I left, got to eating it and there were some beans and still a bunch of rice. I gave up. They would not give me what I asked for. I dont know If it was intentionally rude or just utterly incompetent but Ill never go back. I am from California and I know real mexican food well. This food sucks and those guys back there cant cook for their lives. Horrible. Not only do I advise not going but I thing olympia would be better off of this place wasnt in it. Ive never reviewed a restaurant and am not quick to give bad reviews, but this was beyond the pale.

First of all, I have to say the hand made tortillas are reason alone to come to this small corner restaurant location in Olympia. We ordered the family special La Parillada, which is a mix of steak, fajitas, chicken, chorizo, shrimp and nopales along with onions and jalapeños grilled and served sizzling hot its own table side grill. Accompanied by smooth creamy refried beans with rice and a garnish plate of ripe avocado, pico de gallo and lettuce. The three of us dug in to a flavorful meal. The owner renovated an old, gloomy restaurant into a wonderfully vibrant atmosphere which we will return to again. Beer and wine available along with soft drinks. The ONLY Mexican restaurant to visit if in Olympia.

Mediocre service, with less than mediocre food. We wont be going back. Ate about half our meal. 2 stars for good portion size (more than enough) and food was on the table quickly. That said, menus are not clear on differences between drinks or food items, server and chef were less than friendly, and once food arrived we were not checked on again. Served beverages without straws, smothered burritos without knives, no chance to order sour cream or 2nd drinks (not that I would have, as margaritas taste like a mix). Food lacked flavor. Steak a little better than the chicken, primarily due to texture. Just not worth going back.

More a daycare for the employees kids than a restaurant. Easily the most awful authentic Mexican food Ive ever tasted, and way over priced. Want chips and salsa? That costs extra. A little guacamole with your fajitas? Yeah, thats an extra charge too. Without doubt the rudest and least attentive service Ive ever received. Wait staff was too busy catering to their extremely loud school-aged children running around the restaurant. Unprofessional and completely unacceptable. Why arent your kids at school? No clue why this place hasnt been reported yet.

Terrible rating from Thurston County health inspector: "May 20 [2016]: Routine check (40 red; 0 blue) Comments: Red — Worker in front making large burrito with bare hands. Dishwasher had no foodhandler card. In front open-top case, foods were 44 degrees. All cold holding/storage must maintain temperature of 41 degrees or below. No cook’s thermometer was found. Follow-up: A follow-up inspection was conducted on May 31 when 10 red points were noted for a blocked handwash sink."

My boyfriend and I decided to try this place after finding Peppers Mexican Restaurant at 114 Cherry St NE, Olympia, WA 98501 to be too salted and overpriced. In the end we spent $18 buying 6 street tacos and a giant burrito compared to Peppers $25 for 2 enchiladas and a giant burrito. Taqueria La Esquinita was cheaper and better balanced flavor wise in our experience so it will be our new go-to Mexican restaurant. Try it out! Its only a 5 minute walk from Peppers too.

Amazing! We are regulars at their food truck and decided to try their restaurant for date night tonight. We were not disappointed! The service was quick and friendly, the selection was excellent, and the restaurant was very clean. We had tacos. We got carnitas, pollo, and steak. They were all fantastic. So good I couldnt pick a favorite. Finished it up with flan, which was to die for! All in all we will be back, probably frequently!

Burrito was awesome had the fajita burrito smothered. The place was all full and we didnt want to sit outside, so someone else let us know we could wait outside with drinks and theyd get us when our table open. our experience was great :) Burritos where very very good and on the big side. So split if you not a beast ;) Also chips were hot and fresh. Good chill food place, down to earth.

The food I guess had high hope for but my experience was a little too salty but ate it out of respect for I believe you are require to eat it even if its not what you are used to. I did take notice of the marinade and relized that they used a very salty yoshida soy sauce . I probably wont go back not because they are quick or unfriendly but just the marinade is too salty fo my own like.

This place used to be a crappy Italian joint. Now, by far, it is the best Mexican cuisine in all of WA! The staff and owner are outstanding and they really care about their customers. The food is authentic, not that Food Service of America or Cisco bland crap that has the same pathetic taste used in other establishments. I am a loyal customer from now on!

This restaurant straddles the line of taqueria and a full fledged Mexican restaurant. The prices are reasonable, and they appear to have beer and cocktails. My cubana torta was huge and stuffed with a ton of tasty meat. Chips were served hot, and the salsa was delightful. Overall it was a very good dining experience.

Good food, friendly people. They like to skimp on the sour cream though. Seriously I dont think its too much to ask for a little extra sour cream. Im fine paying the extra dollar (which seems a bit steep), but please give me enough for my quesadilla.

This place is HORRIBLE dont ever go here. The food is bland and not very good. The charged us 3.00 dollars for a small plate of chips and salsa without telling us. The server also was not attentive at all. Never EVER going back.

Margaritas were terrible and you have to pay for a small bowl of salsa which is complimentary at every other mexican restaurant we have ever been. We decided to drink the margaritas and head to a different mexican restaurant.

A huge amount of food for the carne asada plate. This plate is also huge. I loved every bite of the meat, pico de gallo, rice and beans. Im not from Washington and this was walking distance from my hotel. I highly recommend.

Ok food for ok price. Not great but average. My husband and I ordered the same thing but I got larger portions, so they are a bit inconsistent. Servers were slow but friendly. Atmosphere is really nice, upbeat.
