My wife and I stopped in on our first visit to order some takeout. It was late afternoon and the place was not crowded at all. It looked like a small family run business and Im guessing the woman who greeted us was a family member. When I told her we were going to order some food to go it didnt appear she was going to seat us; just let us stand in the entry area to order and wait. So I said to her that maybe we could sit and have something to drink and have some chips and salsa while we waited. She did seat us and did take our order but was never the least bit friendly. As it turned out the salsa was the only thing with any flavor, except the bottled beer of course. Overall the food was very bland and that might explain why we didnt see any Hispanic customers in there either. They shorted us one entree and substituted something we didnt order on another entree. We ordered the taquitos appetizer as part of our order. When we got home we discovered they gave us flautus instead. Overall the food and service were both tasteless. Needless to say we wont be going back. Giving them two stars is probably too generous. But the chairs and booth backs were very ornate and the glasses to pour our beers into were chilled. So I gave them an extra star for that.

We decided to try this restaurant out after driving by a couple of times and seeing it busy every time. The menu has the typical fare that most other Mexican restaurants have in the local area. I ordered chicken enchiladas ala crema. The food was good overall but the shredded chicken in the enchiladas was a little dry and somewhat lacking in flavor. The cream sauce made up for the lack of flavor in the meat though. The second beer I ordered had something black stuck to the bottom of the glass. The waiter was quick to fix this and did not charge for this one which I appreciated. The wait staff was attentetive and the food was fairly quick.

I absolutely love this place. The food is always awesome. I have never had a bad experience with the food or the service. They treat us like family and we only eat there once a month.. My wife and I wont go anywhere else for a Mexican dinner date night. Great margaritas !

Yum! I think the best Mexican place in Albany. Fast service at lunch. $5.95 taco salad lunch special today (guac and sour cream included. Chips,salsa and beans arrived at the table almost faster than me. Highly recommend.

Home away from home. Great service and great food. Chile rellenos is a good gauge of a Mexican restaurant and la Roca has the best I have ever had. They take pride in the quality of their food and service.
