VEGANS AND VEGETARIANS NEVER COME HERE. My partner and I were loyal customers here for a year coming weekly, as they told us their curry and other items were vegan and at least vegetarian, then come to find out they make their curry with chicken broth, and we would have never known if it wasnt for a waitress there I had never seen before, so I assume she was new, telling us that they are made with that and so I brought it back and was told it would be remade, and when we got it the container it was it felt like the original one but microwaved, thought nothing of it, but when we get home and open the rice it had the same curry sauce we poured on it inside the rice! When confronted they said they remade the curry and rice but when we called them out on the rice and told them we could see the curry sauce we put on it the first time, in the middle of the "new" block of rice, they then said "oh yeah sorry about the rice but we did remake the curry with veggie broth" even though we could still taste the chicken broth in it!! Absolutely disgusted, they lied to us for a year then tried to lie to our face. We took our money back and will never be coming here again.

The only thing that this place had going for it last night in terms of service was that we were seated quickly. The service from that point on was terrible. It took fifteen minutes to get our order taken, and an hour after that for the food. The waitress stopped by only when we grabbed her to ask if our food was going to be much longer (around 40 minutes waiting) and she told us about ten minutes. Twenty minutes later we were about five minutes away from paying for our drinks and walking out when our food came. The food was good, the spice level was perfect, but it was not worth waiting over an hour for. There are Thai places around with much better service and similar quality food. Normally I dont write bad reviews of places, but this is the third time Ive been here and the food is always slow to come out with an inattentive wait staff. I dont think Ill be going back after this.

Basil Leaf is a restaurant at which I eat very often. The portions are perfect, the price is very fair, and the workers are all very nice and helpful. Sometimes the wait has been too long, but the food is so satisfying that it doesnt even bother me. I received the wrong order once and it could not be replaced but I still enjoyed the food I ended up getting so I didnt mind. Plus, the waitress was very nice about it and I see no reason why I should let that tarnish my view of the restaurant. Overall, I recommend you eat here if you have a hankering for some yummy Thai food (you wont regret it)! PS: Good vegetarian/vegan options (they always ask if egg is okay with your food if you order off of the vegetarian menu)

Absolute garbage. The service here is beyond bad, its disrespectful and awkward with an absolute lack of communication as if they dont speak English, but of course they do, it turns out its just a room full of inconsiderate pricksss. I watched 3 other families wait over AN HOUR just to get SOME of their food so half the table could watch the other half eat for 15 minutes. All this, while watching group after group of people come in for take out, order and leave repeatedly while we waited for over an hour just to finally have to ask about our food, and then awkwardly avoided for the next twenty minutes. Save yourself, never ever come here.

This shop has the best moms pork fried rice in the world! And too top it off they also have the best and freshest fresh rolls I have ever had. And ive had at least a dozen from different resteraunts. The owners and employees are always very friendly fast and have never let me down after dining in and taking out for over 5 years.

This is a good lunch spot. The food and service are a solid three stars. I got what I expected. I felt the sauces; while tasty, were a bit watery in consistency. The spicyness of "medium" was exactly spot on too. Will return to see if my review will improve on trying different dishes.

After trying nearly every Thai place in the Olympia/Lacey area, I can easily say that Basil Leaf has the best Pad Thai and Pad See-Ew in the Olympia area. Fresh rolls are also one of the best. Good prices on the lunch specials and they give you big portions! Very friendly people.

Tried the pad Thai and pad see ew on separate occasions. The pad see ew was tasteless and so greasy it hurt my stomach. The pad Thai was also very bland but at least not quite as greasy. It may be affordable but with all the great options in town, I doubt Ill be going back.

Locals love this little hidden gem. Vegan and vegetarian choices are plentiful. I think the swimming rama is the best. Ive been here dozens of times and I try different items and always pleased. Lunch offerings have several different combos. The owners are very nice.

This establishment is very clean and polite. Came in for lunch and the portions are right on. Service is good but patience is required here. Great food and they ask how hot youd like your dish. I recommend the mixed vegetables. My wife had green curry, also good.

I had pad thai and red curry both ordered extra spicy. Came out exactly how I like. Flavors were excellent and still balanced the spice. My wife had squash curry that didnt sound great to me but tasted excellent when it came.

High quality, cheerful family run Thai restaurant. Always good service and good food and reasonable prices. They are underappreciated as are not Downtown Oly, but please check them out. In Westside, next to Vics

Noodles were tasteless and so greasy, a mushy mess honestly. Crab cream cheese wontons were almost crab-less. Fresh rolls great as always but unfortunately Im so turned off now, I will probably not go back.

Really like Basil Leaf Thai! Its a little dive with delicious food and the staff are always very courteous. Tasty pad see-ew, slightly underwhelming fresh rolls (mostly iceberg lettuce). Very easy take-out.

Cheap, but equivalent to mcDonalds in grease and quality. Absolutely terrible beyond all imagining. Pad Thai flavorless with no vegetables. Cashew chicken and spring rolls dripping with grease.

Go for the lunch specials which are large and yummy. The flavors they use are simpler than some Thai restaurants, but still good. Their pad thai is fairly sweet. Vegetarian and vegan friendly.

Absolutely love them, the desert that came with my meal was so good. Its been 2 years and I cant remember what it was called but I wish I could so I could find a recipe for it!

Offers pretty good Thai food. I really enjoy their green curry and Pad Thai. Their higher spiciness options (4-5) are indeed pretty spicy so make sure to order appropriately.

Not impressed. The tables were sticky & the food wasnt good enough to justify the hour long wait:( the staff were un-apologetic about it also. We wont be coming back
