I played Sunday, June 25, 2017 with a 7:12am tee time. I was told my two-some was the second group but I never saw anyone ahead of us. Probably finished around 10:30. This was my first round at White Horse and will likely be my last. Heres why: The round was completely ruined by one of the greenskeepers. Starting on the 11th fairway and continuing through the 16th green, 6 of our 18 holes were completely interrupted. As we hit approach shots from the 11th fairway a greenskeeper turned on sprinklers for the 11th green. We then had to wait for the sprinklers to shut off to complete the hole. We initially assumed he didnt see us, but he continued even after he new we were there. This pattern continued in each fairway until the par 5-14th. The same employee was standing on the green spraying it down with a hose. We whistled to get his attention as we stood in the fairway wanting to hit our approach shots. He stopped watering after about 30 more seconds, and I hit my approach toward the front pin leaving it about 5 paces short of the green in the fairway. As we drove to the green the guy cuts a new pin in the back left corner of the green and fills the prior front pin placement. As he was doing this we complained to him, and said this should have been done earlier in the morning and his reply was "it is early". This was around 9:30am when sunrise was at 5:18am. I woke up at 4:30am and drove almost 2 hours to play this course. The watering fiasco continued until the 16th green when we finally got ahead of him. As we walked off the 16th green he was spraying with a hose a few steps behind us. It honestly felt like we were being chased off of the green. My playing partner and I each have over 20 years of golf experience at courses all over the country ranging from cheap municipal courses to some of the more famous public courses. I have no idea how many rounds I have played in my life, and until today I had never even seen a hole cut for a new pin. The idea that someone would do it after a group has hit approach shots is beyond absurd. I complained in the pro shop after the round. They seemed a bit embarrassed but basically just said sorry. I wont make this drive again.

This course is lovely, beautiful, and very well maintained. The fairways are lined by majestic lush forests of fir, cedar and deciduous trees and natural shrubs. I heard an amazing diversity of birds singing as I walked the course (some 24 species either heard or seen, including Bald Eagle, California Quail and four flycatcher species). Also came across a deer. But what is beautiful can be deadly to your golf game: If you dont hit the ball straight, your ball can end up lost in the woods; theres usually very little chance to hit it out of the rough. There are a fair number of bunkers, too. So accuracy is a must on this course. The greens are undulating. There is some up and down to the walk but nothing severe. Its about a 6.5 mile walk we were told. The course was quiet and peaceful and not at all crowded. There was neither ranger nor technology nagging us about our pace. The greens fee ($35 on June 17 Tuesday) was a great bargain. Driving range was good (grass). We ate in the cafe afterwards and found the food and drink very good and service friendly.

White horse is a great course for the price. They have great rates for twilight and has really improved the overall feeling of the course since the casino bought it and put some money into it. I enjoy playing this course everytime I go home to see my parents. I believe they let the local high school golf team play here for free, which I have a lot of respect for that community feeling in a golf course. Although, it is also a really hard course. I hear they have made the course easier taking out some of the massive amounts of sand traps.

Golf course is immaculate. Attention to detail is excellent. Very challenging with variety of shots required. Greens were hard for end of June, ball wouldnt check upless hitting high and hard wedge. Incredibly scenic and flight from L.A. was really cheap. Highly recommend if you want to play a gorgeous golf course in splendor.

This is such a challenging course but that is what makes it so great. You really need to plot your way around. Played this course in February and I could not believe how great the condition of the course was despite a wet winter. And the greens were in immaculate condition and playing fast for winter. So impressed with this course

The course is shorter but challenging. Feet are never level greens are firm. Forget trying to get the ball to check up. I have played this course more than a dozen times. Always never fails to kick peoples butts regardless of skill level.

Challenging course that makes you use a lot of clubs in your bag. Went in late March and course wasnt super soggy like most in the area. The restaurant was very nice looking but only had a beer so no comment on food at this time.

Very slow play. Even during the work week. No marshalls to keep pace going. Way to many twosome with four at times on a hole. Not worth the time, effort and expense to get there. Condition of course not as good as published.

There was a chinese group tournament ahead of us with 6 - 8 people per group and we waited 20 minutes on every shot. We complained three or four times to marshall and they refused to do anything. Horrible experience.

Nice course. Poor service on the course. BYOB. And lazy attitude by staff when asked to address issues. For an upscale course, I shouldnt be walking an extra mile to get a beverage.
