Ive been there, maybe 4 or 5 times now. Seems enough to write a review. The food is good; I dont eat meat so that kind of makes it a small selection, but the hummus plate and hummus sandwich were both excellent. The staff is really active, responsive and friendly. The only reason why Im giving it 4 rather than 5 stars is its kind of a victim of its own success. I went 4 times during the week, and then once during the weekend and it was PACKED. Like, I grabbed the only free seat at the bar packed. Hopping that hard, it takes on more of a sports bar vibe. Had one drink and escaped the mob. But, even in that environment the staff was awesome and supernaturally attentive. Hit it during the week if you want a place to have a drink and a meal and treat it like a pub; hit it during the weekend if youre looking for a place to wear a baseball cap and shout, and get good service.

So we were super excited to try this place based on the positive reviews and delicious looking menu. We need a late night spot based on our work schedules and arrived there at 11:35ish. We went to the window table which had dirty plates and we stacked them so it would be easily cleared for the staff. It appeared only a bartender was working for an almost full place. When he came from behind the bar he walked toward us which also happened to be by the front door and passed us by, opting for the front door, for a smoke break. It was then that we decided to give up. He even had the audacity to say "have a great night" as he smoked outside, acknowledging he saw us sit down in his bar. Whos managing this place?

Went here for a late dinner on April 23, 2016 and had a great experience! Cool music playing with a diverse mix including Earth, Wind & Fire, Billie Holiday, Portishead and more. Purple Rain was playing on one screen and a fun classic b & w movie on TCM was on the other screen. (I think it was Ziegfeld Follies.) Sports was on another (out of our line of sight, thankfully.) The really cool female bartender suggested the drink special and it was super tasty and STRONG. Fried chicken was ridiculously fantastic. We will be back!

Great food, good beer selection and one of my favorite bars in down town Vancouver. The mimosas are made with fresh squeezed oranges and the low bar burger is great. If its your first time, my three favorite things on the menu are Mac & Cheese, jalapeno poppers, and the grilled cheese sandwich. The Jalapeno poppers are really good. Grilled not fried, and stuffed with cream cheese back an other bits with a side of sweet jalapeno jelly. Really freaking good and very decent prices, especially during happy hours.

Heres the deal: this used to be a four or five star place. It changed hands a month or so back. For whatever reason the entire staff left. The transition has not gone well. Their "order at the bar" used to be fairly smooth, but was dependent on being properly staffed with bussers and adequate bar tenders. That was lost in translation. Im going to give them a few weeks and then one more chance. But frankly downtown Vancouver has enough other great bars with awesome food to have to put up with this new situation.

Much better food than you might expect from what looks like a dark, hole-in-the-wall dive bar. Looks are definitely deceiving in this case, though, and its worth dropping in for a bite and a cocktail. Make sure you remember to order your food at the bar... not that youll be publicly humiliated or anything, but its a little embarrassing when youve waited 15 minutes for a server before noticing the numerous signs telling you what to do.

I probably would have given this 5 stars a year ago, but I find myself going less often than I used to. I still like it and think its a great hip place for Vancouver. Food is good. 6 beer taps that used to always feature something I really enjoyed but recently Ive been disappointed more often than not. Cocktails are great. Happy hour (3-6pm) list pretty good, but recently took off chicken wings which was my go-to.

Amazing place! My wife and I go there all the time to enjoy their surprisingly great food. Our favorite is the farm salad which is more than enough to fill me up. Their beer is always great and their mixed drinks are tasty. Sometimes it takes a bit to order if they are super busy since there is only one line but usually it isnt a long wait. I would definitely recommend this bar in downtown Vancouver.

Cool bar. Would go for drinks, 4 stars. Food was underwhelming. I had the banh mi sandwich which was rather terrible. The broccoli cheese soup was consistency if oatmeal. I wish I would have had oatmeal. Maybe a bad day for the kitchen. The server was pleasant and did a good job. 4 stars for her. Cant overlook the lousy food.

Whats not to like about this place? Friendly staff, great rotating beer selection. They serve food until late. They have a great Reuben sandwich, SOS, Corn-beef hash and eggs, cobb salad, BLT. Its great pub food, and theyll usually let you substitute the Jo-jos (not my favorite) for the vegetable of the day.

Awesome food! Great drinks! Fabulous prices! and the ambiance was perfect little downtown getaway... We met friends for drinks and dinner, and all of us left happy, full bellies and little buzzed... We will be back... I HAVE to try the mac and cheese next time!

The atmosphere was exactly as advertised; no frills bar, and the food was fantastic. Im definitely going to make this a regular spot. Whether you just want a laid back spot to drink or an after work dinner spot, I would highly recommend it.

Order at the bar. Best meatloaf ever, but if you dont want meatloaf try anything. Great burger, fabulous macaroni and cheese, and specials - Ive never been disappointed. I love trying new drinks, and they always have something new to try.

The food is consistently good and the atmosphere is dark, clean, and fun. Get the pork tacos. The pork is well cooked, the portions are surprisingly ample, and the slaw/aeoli compliments the meat very well.

Its alright.... The vibe is better than the food, but its worth stopping by at least once. I dont drink alcohol necessarily, so I cant speak for the experience of brew and wine. Decent overall!

Cool music! Awesome beer. Nice bartenders. Zach Bavarian Heff! Must try this if youre into Weiss beers. Uncle Albert coffee is another plus. As well as luponic distortion!
