There hasnt been a person that I havent told about this little gem in the Issaquah Highlands!!! You have to try the Grilled Jalapenos with Goat Cheese and Leeks wrapped in bacon OMG. Not sure what is up with the bad reviews, there is no charge for chips and salsa and the habanero salsa is better than any salsa around. The happy hour rocks and the place is packed every night. They have the best view and patio in the issaquah sammamish area bar none. The drinks are good and strong, the happy hour ritas are very delish and dont get me started on the food. Its not typical beans and rice cheese covered junk, theyve got grilled asparagus, garlic spinach, cilantro jicama slaw, grilled halibut tacos on fresh corn torts!!! yummy, im going there tomorrow its half off tequilas on tuesdays and they have like a hundred different ones. MAN this place is sooooooo awesom and the bartender will help you choose the perfect meal!!!

Im definitely on the "meh" side of the street on this place. We went with a large group, usually kind of a death knell for restaurants, but they werent particularly busy and handled us well, so a gold star for their service on that one. The menu had interesting items, I tried the classic sopes, and they were very middle of the road. The food had decent flavor, but execution was a little lacking. The masa cakes were hard and difficult to cut, I feel like these should have had a softer texture. The carnitas had flavor, but lacked the outside crispiness that I would expect. Overall, a decent change of pace from the large number of Azteca / Las Margaritas places, but Id rather go to Taqueria La Venadita down the hill from here.

The food is good...in fact, Id say its great and Ive met the owner or manager on a few occassions and hes nice also. However, almost EVERY server I have had there is ill equipped to deal with the public. Theyre not very nice, theyre slow, and then they get irritable with you when you ask where your food is...we had one server that we watched and it took him 20 minutes just to put in our ticket...and then he came back to let us know the kitchen was out of what we ordered. Super frustrating. I wasnt expecting perfection, but the service was a LONG way off. I will say, theres ONE waiter there that is younger and super friendly, wonderful and quick. I hope he lasts!

The food is excellent. When they first opened, they charged for chips and nachos but they do not do that anymore...they are complimentary and the salsa (particularly the habernero salsa) is outstanding. The queso dip is worth the extra $4 or so. My guess is that the reviews that said they were disappointed in the quantity of meat ordered from the "Tacos by the Pair" section of the menu. Youre only ordering two tacos. If youre hungrier than that, order from the dinner menu. The fajita platter, at about $15, is worth it and much more substantial. The Cadillac Margaritas are superb!

Terrible. I cant believe that people even like this place. This was my first time there, someone else in our group picked the place. There were 6 of us and the service was slow and just all around bad. Not only did they get the order wrong but the food was served ice cold. Then on top of all that, my meal came 20 minutes after everyone elses and it was wrong. All I ordered was chicken fajitas and they were the worst that I have ever eaten. I could not recommend this place to anyone and we dont plan on going back.

We used like the food when it was Marcellas and had traditional Mexican food. When they changed to Agave, the menu changed to yuppie California Mexican. Chicken enchaladas with pine nuts and some kind of white sauce???? How strange.... how California yuppie strange.... It would be ok if they had the weird trendy menu, but also included some traditional Mexican food as well. The chips and salsa were just as strange.... On the positive side... the decor is pleasant and the service was great.

The people there were highly inhospitable and they treated me like it was weird that I wanted something light to start with while at the bar. When I asked for a blended margarita they did not have a blender nor did they make margaritas. The bartender looked at me weird when I simply ordered a shot of tequila since they did not make margaritas. I am certainly not going to return to this place nor am I going to recommend it to anyone.

Upscale Mexican fare that is above average for the Seattle area. The staff is always friendly and courteous too. If youre a true Mexican food aficionado then the food in and around Seattle is likely too sweet for you. Agave is no exception. Every dish suffers from an over abundance of sweetness, even the fajitas. However, the food here is not as sweet as most other Mexican restaurants in the area. FYI, the green salsa is AWESOME!

Food is almost always great especially the Happy Hour menu which is a wonderful value. Service can be hit and miss, there are a couple of female servers who really do not know the menu or basic communication skills/good manners, which is a problem. However our regular male waiter is wonderfully warm and friendly and always makes for a positive experience. Recommended and hopefully you get one of the better servers.

The food wasnt really that good and the service was the worst we had in a long time. Be sure to give yourself an extra hour if youre trying to eat here before a movie. We almost missed ours. We wont be returning based on the service alone. The server never came and the hostess ended up taking (and thoroughly messing up) our orders.

I live in Redmond and went to Agave located by the Safeway. It used to be Las Margaritas. The remodel is really nice...looks much better than before and the food is also better. Staff was ok and service was good. Great place to go for a low key place. Seems like people dont really know about it because of its location.

Ok so im a little torn by this. I LOVE Mexican food. But this wasnt the typical mexican place. There was no mexican music. .they had mangoes in the Pico. . The taste was actually really nice but I just cant consider this a mexican restaurant.

Reasonably good service and food. I ordered the Butternut Squash burrito and though it was ordinary it was quite good, about what Id expect for $12 - $15 per entree. The bar is well stocked (always a plus in my book) and service was prompt.

Very nice location with a pleasant outdoor seating are. Food was okay, not great. Had the carnitas. What I got was braised pork, not carnitas. Server was friendly, but it seemed he had a large section of tables wich affected service.

All i can say is wow, definatelly not your average mexican you have to try it to realize how good this is not only the food but the service and definatelly the decor and of course the tequila selection by far the best ive seen.
