We went to get brunch, as last time we were here this place was known as Johnnies. There was a group of 6 of us, going in for brunch at 11am on a Saturday on Oct 8th. The main dining area was pretty full but not crazy busy, there were no people waiting to be seated. We sat in the bar area at a table, and the bar area had 2 at the bar top and 2 in the area when we arrived. The hostess sat us, and as he did the lady apparently working the bar area rudley said that she isnt on the clock and couldnt take the 6 top. The hostess said dont worry about it and left. The bartender was in training, he was super nice and patient. Our server ended up being the rude lady saying she wasnt on the clock. She then continued to be huffy and obviously showing she didnt want to be here. Drinks took about 20 min, then we had to flag down the server lady to get our order, which she left briefly to get a pad of paper to write down the order. About 25 min waiting for our food, she informs us that they were out of biscuits and gravy which then made us think that she literally just entered in our orders 25 min after we ordered. 15 min later our food comes out. I had the pancakes, you can tell they were made first of the order, cold and bland. Could have made better bisquick pancakes. We then were able to get the check, which we actually didnt get, we just handed the card to the bartender. We finally left at 1:15pm, when got there at 11am. Mediocre brunch, high prices, and horrible service. Will not return.

As a fellow restaurateur, I tend to be overly critical whether dining in or out. I had heard mixed reviews of this restaurant but felt inclined to find out for myself, and let me say that I am beyond thankful I did. As soon as you enter the room you are greeted not only by a warm smile from the hostess, but the entire environment subtly exudes class and sophistication without being overly pretentious (without planning on ending up here I arrived in a t-shirt, shorts, and bright red sneakers and though I undeniably felt slightly underdressed I was never made to feel that way by anyone other than my own subconscious). Everything from the proper lighting and acoustics, to the living edge table tops and plush seating surfaces, to the cloth hand towels in the restrooms are obviously well thought out and of the highest quality. These things are only overshadowed by the menu itself. Whether you choose their free range chicken, house ground burgers, prime new york steak, stone fired pizzas, rich pastas, or delicious nightly specials you can rest assured that everything is made fresh and in house. The entire time I kept saying to myself "they need to be charging more for these things!" Service was professional, efficient, and courteous without being overbearing and we were even personally graced by the owner himself upon our arrival. Next time you find yourself wondering where to eat downtown, do yourself a favor and give two twenty a try. I can promise you wont leave disappointed.

High Tea was disappointing. As usual, the food was excellent. On other visits for regular meals service was excellent. However, the high tea was very disappointing. We arrived at 4:20 for our 4:30 seating (high tea has two seating times - 3:00 and 4:30). We were not seated until 4:50 and our waitress did not appear for at least another 10 minutes despite our table of four seeming to be her only table and there only being four tables with maybe 12 people for the entire second seating. When we finally got our tea about 10 minutes later, it was lukewarm. The food was served on a plate like a regular dinner service and not at all how high tea is served. VERY disappointing. I would give four stars for regular meals, but only two (to be generous) for high tea, thus three for average. Great restaurant for regular meals, but skip the overpriced and underserved high tea.

I ate breakfast here 3 days in a row while in town for a work trip, each breakfast was spectacular. The ingredients are fresh and local, the staff was genuinely friendly. Each order was made fresh! I had the scramble with zucchini, goat cheese, pear tomatoes, and spinach which were cooked in with the fluffiest scrambled eggs Ive ever had. I also ordered the chile relleno and biscuits and gravy. Both divine, the biscuits were monstrous and homemade. Would recommend 100%!

This is our "go to" restaurant when visiting Chico for a great dining experience. We have dined here for breakfast, brunch twice and lunch and its been a positive experience consistently. They have pride of ownership as they are very clean and spotless, excellent food and service at a very reasonable price. Awesome full bar with appetizers available and happy hour too. For a great experience I highly recommend this restaurant.

We came for breakfast to give it a try since they changed ownership. The coffee was excellent and the prices fair. I had the steak chili relleno with eggs which was OK, a little too deep fried with the crust. My wifes bacon omelet was much better, but the potatoes had too much salt and she loves salt. Small menu which I didnt mind, but no kids menu.

Nice ambiance, good food...surprisingly, not all super-fantastic. A bit pricey also. Tried the zucchini fritters, coconut prawns, mushrooms 3 ways, skewered Marys chicken, and the Penne Gorgozola with prime New York tips- which was super-fantastic. Drinks were good, especially the Montauk Project, which can transport you to a different time.

I went there for brunch and I loved the classic music vibe, very clean, and felt fancy/upscale without insane prices and mandatory dress code. The menu was vast containing many options. Egg Benedict was selected and it was fantastic. The hollandaise was terrific, best one in town at a restaurant, IMO. I cant wait to go back.

Diamond is a really nice hotel and the restaurant works well. Good wine list (short but thats ok) and there is internet in the bar so a great place for dining alone while working. You also get a voucher for 10 bucks for breakfast and it covers almost everything on the menu plus coffee.

We went to the High Tea. It was the first time I went. But it was great! For $20 you get a pretty full plate of food plus bottomless tea. I really had a great time doing this and would like to do it again.

Very busy, only 1 server. Michael had to work extra to keep up with a crowded dining room. Food was good and served in a timely manner for our table of 7. Really enjoyed the upside down nachos appetizer.

Every time I go here for early dinner (5ish), its practically empty. And dare I say their beer cheese burger is better than Sierra Navadas! One of my favorite places around.

Food was good ( breakfast ) and reasonably priced. Sometimes a little cold from them having the air conditioner cranked up to much.
