Poor service. Food is okay for price. Ambiance is nice. Prices so-so. First time we went there, my friend ordered the sliders well-done. She emphasized it some more by saying that it needs to be very well done. She was pregnant and didnt want to eat anything semi-raw. When her order came out, the first mini-burger was cooked perfectly. When she took bite of second mini-burger, it was very pink---somewhere between medium and medium rare. She cut into third one to see and it was very pink, too. The waitress was informed and was going to correct it. The waitress was going to walk away, but my friend asked her if she wants to take the sandwiches to cook them some more. Waitress said, "No. Well have two cooked up." The corrected mini-burgers were cooked correctly. When we got our bill, we were charged for two extra mini-burgers. When we told the waitress, she said that we ordered two extra mini-burgers. After re-explaining about the uncooked mini-burgers, that we had asked her if she just wanted to cook the original mini-burgers, and that she chose to just have new ones cook up, waitress finally said that my friend already took a bite of the mini-burger. Duh, these mini-burgers are three bites each. The third one was just cut open. Finally, waitress said she would ask if the manager would comp the two extra mini-burgers. Yes, they comped them. They did something funky with the charge for a drink as well. The explanation was weird. I cant remember details, but I have never seen drinks charged that way. It was something like they charged her for two different drinks because they didnt have an entry for her drink. The cost still seemed higher. We just let this issue go because we werent liquor experts. A couple of months later, I had a friend visit from out of state. We needed somewhere close by, so we went to Sip out of sheer necessity. We got there at 10:00 PM on Saturday night. Sip closes at 11:00 PM. We just wanted a glass of wine and cheese/fruits. The bartender came over sighing. He didnt greet us... just went straight for "what would you like?" We ordered. He brought our stuff then never checked back even though we were sitting at the bar. The place was almost dead. We didnt need much. We had to ask for our check. I have waited tables and have immense respect for wait staff. At the same time, I also know how staff are trained. I wont go back. If I am desperate, Ill rather walk to Safeway and pick up the ingredients than to step into Sip again. If you want a good place for wine, here are some options: --- Village Wines in Woodinville --- Purple Cafe in Bellevue --- I would even choose Big Fish (a few doors down) despite the slightly more generic ambiance.

I went to Sip because I had driven by it several times and had always wanted to check it out. My first impression was that it took too long to get service (and there were only 4 tables that has guests seated). Also, portions were extremely small for the price...for example, I got the cheese sampler for $12 and got 4 different types of cheese and the servings were about the size of 2 dice. I strayed away from my regular choice because they were closed that night. I much prefer Vino Bella. The owner is there every night and always greets and even serves his guests a lot of the time. They dont have a full menu, but for the price, the atmosphere and the service it is a much better venue. I may try Sip again, most likely if Vino Bella is closed that night.

I dont think Ill be going back anytime soon. The presentation of the food looked... ok. We ordered the lobster bisque and it was reasonably good. But the seared scallops was a flop for us. We ordered two dishes and both were consistently miserable. The sauce has a lot to do with it. If anyone wants to try what seared scallops is supposed to taste like at a nice restaurant, youve got to try it at The Georgian Room. Anyway, we also ordered the pasta with shredded duck confit. Although it was slightly better than the seared scallops. In summary, the quality of the food is nowhere near the price one has to pay for. However, the ambience of the restaurant was quite nice, and the service was decent.

I really love the ambiance of Sip at the Wine Bar in Issaquah. It has the feel of a cozy mountain Lodge and its up in the Issaquah Highlands so it makes it feel even more remote. I live in Bellevue and often travel out to Sip when I want to get away from the hustle and bustle and just relax with a good meal and fine wine. Its a beautiful place, the food is excellent and wine selection is amazing. We usually get a table by the fireplace and its like a mini vacation at a fine ski lodge restaurant. They got everything right at Sip and I like their motto...Lifes fast...Sip slow... :)

This place could be so cool! We were very excited when they first opened-as Issaquah is lacking in the chic restaurant department. We even forgave the owners and their self indulgence at creating their little raised seating area where no one but them could ever sit. Great ambiance, location, gorgeous waiters, good food and then it comes to their wine pouring and pricing. I will NOT pay $12-$14 for a glass of wine that is barely 2 ounces! I can, but I wont. Its insulting.

We took my mother to Sip in the Highlands for dinner last night. I do not recommend eating there--everything, from the service to the food, was at best mediocre and insipid. Inattentive servers who complained about working until midnight, cold, bland, overcooked food and canned music played so loudly that conversations had to be held at the top of ones lungs made for a very disappointing and pricey waste of time.

I love the ambiance and wine list, but WAY over priced for what you get (seems like barely two sips of wine compared to other places for about $14 a glass....OUCH!). They use to have a really good early and late happy hour and now dont have that. My girlfriends and I stopped going here and now do our ladies nights at Flat Iron and Jaks. Great food, wines and happy hours.

Service was slow even though the place was almost empty. Food has gone way downhill. Filet Mignon was very tough and the sauce was terrible. Had a Caesar Salad that was very bland. Wines by the glass seem less interesting than they used to be. Wont be going back anytime soon. Only good thing about the place is that it is cozy.

Poor service. Complained to owner and now understand why, the apples dont fall very far from the tree. Food is average and overpriced + the plates are small. Atmosphere/nearby location is just about the only reason I went, but after a bad service experience with the manager and a sad response from the owner, I wont be returning.

Great wine selection. Great flights. A bit over-priced and last time, during restaurant week, service was slow and the steak was tough, but still plan to come back because my husbands pumpkin seed pasta dish was divine. Besides its a local joint and is so very cozy

Went for a test run for a larger group. The wine and app we tried were wonderful...but small portions and over priced. Decided to use them because of the atmoshpere...couldnt accomodate a pre-holiday cocktail group. Went to another venue...their loss!
