After reading the other reviews I wonder why my experience was so different. We arrived on a Friday and were originally the only table. The waitress was pushy for our drink orders before we even looked at the menu. The chips we ordered were cold and oily with the salsa that ran out before we were even halfway through the basket which I would expect for free chips but not from ones I payed for. I ordered the Burrito with chicken and my wife got a Pescado and Chorizo taco. The chicken inside my burrito was dry and the guacamole sauce on top had a piece of the avocado stem inside it. The tacos shells were flimsy, tasteless, and Id guess old. The Pescado taco had good flavors but the batter around the fish was soggy. The chorizo taco she couldnt even finish. Id expect this from a place that charges cheap prices for cheap food but for $15 for a large burrito with no sides, and a total of $8 for two small tacos it was a disappointment. Only thing that made it worse is that both of us had to rush home to use the toilet. As a restaurant trying to live up to upscale standards it should either improve the food or offer free drinks so you wont notice the flaws. Im for supporting local business in Camas, but not a place that gives local businesses a bad name.

My wife and I came here tonight for the first time to check it out. When we walked in the hostess looked like she was half asleep and didnt want to be there. Asked us if it was just us two and then walked us to our table. She then put down two empty water glasses and walked away. At this point were sitting there looking over the menu with nothing to drink and couldnt believe the prices. $15 for a burrito seemed a little nuts but okay, lets see what happens. So after five minutes of sitting at our table (still havent been helped yet) we see another couple get seated. So fast forward a little and here we are at the ten minute mark, still havent been helped, we have no clue who our server is and I see the other couple being helped already. At least point weve already had enough. We both got paid today and were going to splurge to treat ourselves on a Friday night. With prices like this youd think the service would be excellent but our experience was horrible. We wont ever go back to this restaurant again and will tell all of our friends and family to not even bother with this place from now on.

What a treat to find a restaurant of this caliber in Camas! After we sat down, I told my husband it was hard to believe we were in Camas, WA. The cocktails were inventive and delish, the chips and salsa (sent to our table by a friendly diner at the next table) were most unusual and yummy. FRESH chips and a wonderful tomatillo salsa, all obviously homemade. The waitress, as well as the owner, checked with us several times to make sure we had what we wanted and were enjoying our meal. Entrees of chicken enchiladas with an incredible lime ancho creme sauce was so good, I wanted to lick the plate! Carne asada was well prepared and offered with great sides. Flan with fresh blackberries finished a wonderful meal. Well be back! To the reviewers on this site who "dissed" this great place....it is not TEX-MEX....this is Mexican cuisine from interior Mexico, coastal regions, etc...be ready for some fine dining.

As far as the flavor goes, the food is great. Its flavorful, it tastes good, and you can tell the food is made in-house, not pre-frozen and nuked. HOWEVER, the price is absolutely ridiculous. I just bought two tacos with guac on them, and I paid $13. Now here is the part that got me more than anything, my tacos were $4.50 each, but my guacamole was $3... THREE DOLLARS!? Why on Earth is my small side of guacamole nearly as expensive as the entire taco itself?? If I hadnt been so hungry, Id have walked out when she told me the price. A little comparison for you, Chipotle side of guac, $1.95. Avocados at your local grocery store (in this case Safeway) are $1 each. I am just appalled at the price. The Mexican restaurant by my house sells tacos for $0.99 and guac is free. This place is a ripoff.

Excellent value and the ingredients are the real deal! Tonight my family started out with guacamole, chips and salsa which were beyond your average fare. For dinner, I had the fish taco and tinga taco. My hubby had chicken enchiladas which were presented beautifully with a rice-stuffed roasted chile and then plated with a sauce that brought it all together. Both of our dishes were amazing and flavorful. So many Mexican restaurants shy away from bold flavors or they over-salt the food to fake their way through bland ingredients. Nuestra Mesa shines with authentic recipes and is such a vital element to Downtown Camas. We love this place!

I always like to support local businesses so I thought wed give Nuestra Mesa a try. The chips and salsa werent free. We looked at the menu (which is small) and decided to try a variety of tacos. They were $3 each and boy were they small. I dont know what they are trying to do but it just doesnt work. Theyre trying to be "upscale" and the flavors and textures just were not very good. Some were even soggy. I was really disappointed. A trip over to Papas in Washougal for ice cream saved the evening. I will not go back.

Meh...honestly presentation was good; the food was plated well and had a good impression of higher-end food. Unfortunately the flavors were very bland! Very much like it was developed by someone whos never eaten Mexican food and only knew how it was supposed to look and not taste. Ive eaten Mexican cuisine all over the world and this has to be the least Mexican flavor weve ever had! More like hospital or retirement center food devoid of any flavor or spices! Also, charge me a dollar for an ounce of sour cream?

The food just isnt as good as it used to be. Weird flavor combinations. They changed their menu completely. For example, my husband raved about their old version of the chili relleno. They still have it listed on their menu, however its a completely different recipe and ingredients. No sauce, cheese isnt what they used to use, just no where near as delicious. We used to LOVE this place. But we were so disappointed on our last visit, that we will not be retuning.

Overpriced, normal selection Mexican fair. If you order guacamole you have to order chips separately, they dont come together, also ordered one sangria, not listed on the menu as a drink option, get my bill and it was 10 dollars just for the drink. All together all I ordered was two very small ala cart tacos, guacamole and chips and that stupid drink and it cost me $30, tacos were small with no flavor, not worth it.

The food is delicious, the owners are authentic, and the atmosphere is quaint. They offer human size portions (meaning they may be smaller than other restaurants of this cuisine) but make up for it in the quality of the ingredients as well as a masterful blend of flavors. Normally, Im a carne asada type of guy but at the suggestion of the owner Ive recently been enjoying the vegetarian taco...it is amazing.
