Im so glad to see a restaurant entrepreneur put a project in downtown Washougal! My thanks to the owner and staff at OurBar for all the hard work you do. My review is from the point of view of a guy who is looking for a nice weekend breakfast spot: Ive been here a number of times. Its a small space ran cafeteria style. Other than bringing out food theres no service. You order and pay standing at the front counter. I find that an awkward situation for breakfast and gratuity (ordering prior to a sip of coffee and if anyone comes in behind you it makes you feel rushed). Theres probably nothing stopping you from getting coffee and taking a seat to consider your order. The food is okay. I like the gravy! The pre-brewed self serve coffee is far too strong for my personal taste and I might recommend a pinch of tarragon to spice egg dishes. The decor is nice, cheerie, tasteful, modern. The view out the window, looking across main street, is surprisingly fun and cheerie. It has the potential for a great breakfast spot. It can feel cramped and communal when it gets busy. Maybe management would consider the addition of at least one dedicated waitstaff on weekend mornings and replacing the big bench table with several smaller tables?

I finally talked my husband into trying Our Bar. This was my 5th visit here. He felt it was too yuppy of a place for him. They have great food. I like that its farm fresh, organic food. The main issue I had that day was the screaming and misbehaved children. 2 babies were allowed to scream the whole time we were there. Another toddler sitting at the table adjacent to us kept banging his spoon on his plate. Then he would sit on the floor as his mom gave him bits of food (like a dog), then he proceeded to scrape his chair back and forth on the floor. This was not the experience I was wanting for my husbands first time or even for myself. He said if we go there again, we will get food to go. I realize the owner cant say anything to customers, but my message to parents is: train your children how to behave in a restaurant! Or get a sitter. I raised 3 children. We went to a few upscale restaurants and even small cafes and they knew how to act. Even as babies, if they got fussy I would excuse myself and take them outside. It doesnt hurt a baby/child to cover their mouth if theyre screaming. Not smothering, but enough for them to learn this is not how to act and so others dont have to hear it.

If you are anywhere in the vicinity of Portland, you simply must come here once. We initially ordered the Biscuits & Wild Boar Gravy and the Sopa de Fideo, both of which were excellent. Since we were here on vacation and knew we werent going to be back anytime soon, we had to try the blueberry pancakes, which turned out to be the best choice of all. Crispy on the outside, melt-in-your-mouth on the inside, and chock full of fresh blueberries. Im usually not a fan of pancakes but I just couldnt stop eating these. Even though the roads were iced in, OurBar was 70% full by 10AM. Also of note is Amnesia Brewery across the street (moved from Portland).

We had breakfast and it was utterly fabulous. I loved that the food was locally sourced, and that I knew where the ingredients came from. The wild boar gravy is divine. Our entire party was satisfied with their meals. It was a little crowded (it was Saturday morning,) but the staff handled the volume with grace, and everyone was having such a good time, none of us really noticed how long we waited. When I looked around the room, all the other patrons were smiling. It didnt seem like we waited for very long. This is now my favorite breakfast spot. I plan on having breakfast here about once a week.

All I can figure is people are so deprived of a good breakfast place in Washougal that theyve convinced themselves Our Bar is actually good. Mediocre at best, and thats being generous. I had the huckleberry pancakes...they were, flat, limp, somewhat rubbery and the huckleberries were strangely just jam-like and slapped between the two pancakes. My boyfriend had the biscuits and being a man of few words simply labeled them "disgusting". Since we went to Our Bar, never to return, weve talked to more and more locals around here and there who also find the food to be pretty awful.

nothing on the menu resembles anything you would cook at home, I just wanted eggs bacon and hashbrowns, the closest thing they had was pig belly dont order it, and the coffee leaves the worst aftertaste in your mouth you ever had, everything on the menu has a twist on it that leaves you thinking wtf am I doing here I am not a vegan, a vegetarian and I would never eat tofu, if your from Portland this is the café for you

Stopped at OurBar on the way out to the gorge. Completely blown away by both the french toast and the biscuit/gravy. Not only were they probably the most delicious of each plate Ive ever had, they are incredibly inexpensive. I wouldnt hesitate to stop by here on future trips into the gorge. If this place existed in Portland, it would have an hour-long line out the door every day.

Breakfast, lunch or snack you cant go wrong with this place. The proprietors Alex & Kevin are friendly as are their staff. Classics like biscuits and gravy have a twist that makes them even more delicious. I return regularly to see what new concoctions they are serving. Do yourself a favor and swing by and order one of the daily specials.

Our bar is an amazing deal for the high quality of food. On their menu, they have a list of farms where their food is sourced... Thats cool! They are becoming more and more popular, but its no surprise why. The chedder and bacon biscuits with wild boar gravy is such a treat!! Service is great too, and Id label the atmosphere as charming.

This has been our favorite breakfast place ever since we found it about 2 years ago. Its small and friendly and vibrant. If youre looking for a regular breakfast diner, try somewhere else. This place serves innovative, high quality food and drink in portions that wont make you feel uncomfortably full, and all at good prices.

Never had anything here I didnt like. Dont let the name fool you - its not a "bar". It is a cafe/restaurant and they do creative takes on various dishes made with local/seasonal ingredients. You will not do any better than the cheddar bacon biscuits. Go there right now if they are open when youre reading this.

Well simply put it was food like grandpa used to make. Hes dead now, I hate cancer. But they do it right, with all fresh & local. I had the biscuits with wild boar gravy (omg) and the egg in a basket. Better then anything Ive had in Portland hands down. Keep up the good news work Ill definitely be back

This small quaint breakfast and lunch place has very friendly staff and amazing food. Fresh ingredients made to order cant be beat. Order at the counter and clean up your own mess lends to the family atmosphere that is inherent in this restaurant when you walk in.
