We went on a Thursday at about 615 pm, which according to this site is their busiest time. There were several groups ahead of us and after us but they were ordering take away, not eating in. Our wait for a table was less than 15 minutes. Our waitress was prompt and attentive, but overly expressive in the happiness. The tea was HOT, but my cup had dirty lipstick on the rim and inside the rim. The waitress was ever so sorry. We ordered and also ordered an appetizer. The appetizer came just shortly before our meal. The table next to us arrived when we were ordering our food and they had their appetizers well before us, but the waitress said ours was coming, which it did. I had the moo goo guy pan and it was really good. But it was the first time that I had ever had it so I cant compare it to any place else. My brother enjoyed his meal. But said it wasnt a place he would go out of the way to order from. I had ice tea to drink and the glass was all ice. I couldnt stir without ice falling out. The tea was about 4 or 5 times as strong as I have ever had. If they took that tea, made it hot, and then poured it over all that ice to melt it, it probably would have been perfect. But as it was, it wasnt very good at all. Prices are good. Comparable to other local Chinese restaurants. Overall, OK but probably not a place we will return to.

*UPDATE: Our go to late night Chinese place :) We love the waitresses here and the food is still amazing. We get individual dinners now. We usually get a refill on our tea, it always hits the spot. Our almost 2-year-old has started getting his cup filled too :) Super kid friendly! We used to go here all the time! Great dinner prices for the food you get! We usually go for the family dinner options. The waitresses wear traditional dress and have awesome hair styles and are very attentive. We went back last night for the first time in a long while and it was our best experience by far. The host greeted us kindly and the waitress was personable (and not in the obvious way some people are who just want a good tip). My partner knows to eat his fill of chow mein (his favorite) FIRST; he loves it and is still craving it now. I LOVE their egg rolls and sweet & sour chicken dish. The almond breaded chicken is good, but the most bland dish Ive had there.

Took 10 minutes before we got seated. When we finally got seated took 20 minutes to get our food. Horrible service. I needed to substitute sweet in sour for something else since I have a severe pineapple allergy. Took a good 10 minutes to get them not to charge me extra. 30 plus minutes to get the food. If was super gross. It had zero flavor, it was cold and the meat was not cooked good. It made me feel super sick! I also spent a good $30 on this meal and it was the worse purchase ever. Will be giving the leftovers to a homeless person. But I have huge feeling they wont like it either.

The fact that I cannot submit this with zero stars, I must say zero stars is an overstatement. I have lived in a lot of places around this country, and have eaten at who knows how many different Chinese Restaurants. I cant even say that this one sets a new low standard. To be more precise, this is not chinese food. It may be cooked to look like and put in a fancy container, but it is deffinately not chinese food. With that being said, I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Every time my roommate and I crave Chinese food, we come straight to this place. Honestly, from the outside it looks like its stuck in the 80s, but inside is actually rather well put together. The food has always been delicious, and the levels of spiciness are very precise. I get an 7, and my buddy gets an 8, and theres a noticeable difference between the two. The meat is always tender and delicious. I highly recommend you give this place a shot.

Friendly staff, and the best Chinese food Ive ever had in my life! I ordered takeout and although I had to wait for a little bit (I realize I couldve saved time and called ahead instead) I didnt mind, because they were very polite about the wait time and even brought over some water while I waited. The food was well portioned. I was surprised by how big the egg roll was and how much chicken I got. I will very likely return here again!

Ordered chicken chow mein, pork fried rice and sweet and sweet chicken and sweet and sour soup and everything was AMAZING. Hot, fresh on pickup, took about 20 minutes so order ahead if carrying out. The lack of curb appeal doesnt do this local joint justice at all, totally worth checking out. They were out of egg rolls which Ive heard are the best around so Ill be back for those lol

Absolutely terrible. Ordered beef chow mein, chrispy orange chicken, fried rice amongst other things. All the rice was basically mush. The beef chow mein tasted like onions and the beef was awful. The crispy chicken wasnt crispy and was inedible. Now 2 out of 4 of us are basically sick. The only good thing was the fortune cookies.

The food was very bland and mushy. The General Taos Chicken from Safeway has more kick and texture. This place came strongly recommended from several sources. I cannot see the appeal. The food was terrible and the service was slow. I would strongly suggest you not waste your money on anything here.

Possibly the worst Ive had. The chicken and broccoli tastes like onions. The spring rolls taste like grease. The chicken fried rice has 0 veggies or eggs and minimal chicken not to mention the taste is awful. But hey, they managed to cook the steamed rice appropriately.

Best Chinese food in the area! Great selection and delicious, only heads up is dont trust the online menu you find on yelp or other places. The online menu is only one page where in reality there is 3 pages and a huge selection.

Highly disaplointed for this being rated so well. The food was tasteless, and not worth what we paid for. Would not recommend coming here until they change cooks. We will most likely just give the food to a homeless person.

We ordered here for take out. They boxed everything good, lots of condiments and cookies. It was still real hot when we got home. About a 17 minute drive. Very fun and friendly waitress. Food was good and fairly priced.

The best egg rolls we have ever! Our eight kids want to come here every time they come to Bremerton. Traveling around we have eaten at many, many restaurants & truly none have the egg rolls like the Golden Star.

Ive been eating here forever, good food, decent prices, and really big portions, one serving of the sweet and sour chicken and fried rice feeds both my husband and I, and we like the potstickers!

Takeout disaster. Busy night. Showed up as advised 40 minutes after ordering, told they were working on my order, waited 25 minutes more. Virtually ignored. Finally left and went to McDonalds.
