Came here due to the excellent reviews. The food we had - lamb dish and scallop dish with fried rice was very tasty but as warned the prices are high. A half dozen scallops, some lamb and spices with a smattering of scallions ($20), and a bowl of friend rice ($15) plus only water to drink came to $60 after taxes but before tip. Ouch. For sure food in the Bay Area is expensive and this is a nice safe location and the food is good quality but is it $30 a head nice? Unfortunately itll make us think about coming back. And in case you think we just picked expensive dishes - there were plenty much more than $20 a dish, and most if not all that werent appetizers were $15 or more. Maybe weve all been conditioned to think this kind of dish should always be cheap, or at least cheaper? I dont know. Anyway, no regrets on the food. The place is a bit loud - youll hear and see the kitchen busy making your food. The waiter was friendly and efficient. Only $$ is my concern.

I had previously given this place higher marks, but when I went recently, my order was clearly wrong (it included a noodle-broth combo that wasnt even on the menu), but the waiter insisted that the mistake was on me. I had verified my order earlier as I have specific dietary restrictions, and the broth that came contained something that I couldnt eat. I double-checked the menu on my way out just to be sure. Given the service, I dont see myself returning.

Love this place! Aside from great tasting flavorful dishes, they have very friendly staff, ingredients are always fresh, grass-fed beef, Marys free-range chicken, and they dont charge you for brown rice when you eat at lunch time. Very reasonable prices too from $10 and up. Come and try it!

I am from out of town and stumbled across this gem when wandering next to Lake Merritt. So happy we found a great restaurant with high quality wild and local ingredients. One of the fastest services Ive ever had. Very tasty. I would return if in the area again.

Fantastic alternative to the plethora of more standard Americanized Chinese cuisine. Its a family business that puts a new twist on Chinese food. The cumin beef is outstanding. They always have the same staff and after a few visits they wont forget your face.

I ate at Lin Jia Mon nov 23; I had the shrimp, scallion , vegetable lunch plate. The taste was ok. 2 hours later I felt ill with food poisoning . Went to hospital the next day. Be careful here . Just saying..

Food was excellent. Only thing..... offer wooden chopsticks as an alternative to the steel ones at the table. Other than that..... some tea candles? Softly playing music? Soy sauce at the table? Lol.

Phenomenal food. Get the Walnut shrimp! The service is always good. There is hardly ever a wait. The atmosphere is nice and you can see the kitchen, its beyond clean. Try it out, you wont be sorry.
