Nakagawa-san now has 2 Japanese restaurants on the northend (Cafe Soleil in Mukilteo and Nakagawa in Bothell)! I was first introduced to Cafe Soleil by a friend from Japan soon after I returned from living in Japan - when I was desperately craving authentic Japanese food. Wow, Nakagawa-sans food was just what I was looking for. We love Cafe Soleil food so much we even had them cater our destination wedding on the Washington coast last summer <3<3<3. And now they have opened Nakagawa in Bothell! :-D Weve already been here twice in the last 3 days. They are serving all of our Cafe Soleil favorites - miso soup, garlic edamame, croquet, karaage, tonkatsu, chicken katsu, amazing homemade desserts, and many more new items .......oh yeah, and sushii! When our friends (also wedding guests) heard about Nakagawas Grand Opening this month - we were overflowing with requests to join us for dinner within minutes of posting about it on Facebook. Some friends even cancelled their other dinner plans so they could drive up from Tacoma to eat at Nakagawa with us. Yes, it is that good. Even Nakagawa-sans "simple" items are wonderful --- our wedding guests visiting from Japan loved Cafe Soleils wedding fare, but especially raved about how their miso soup brought back warm childhood memories of miso they ate at home growing up. As much as we would like to keep Nakagawa-sans amazing food a secret for ourselves, we are so happy to share this secret with you. Please enjoy discovering this Japanese treasure!

Cost is a little high but they do give you a decent amount of food. Ramen isnt typical. It had a lot going on. Wasnt bad but not my fave either. Broth reminded me of wonton soup plus extra sesame. Didnt have enough broth. Comes with shrimp, pork, wakame, whole egg cut into halves, etc. Also ordered the combination. Tempura was fried nicely. Not oily. Not thick. Tempura sauce a little on the saltier side but I didnt mind it since the tempura wasnt seasoned (salted). The beef slice stir fry with onions was salty though. Glad it comes with rice. Also comes with 3 nigiri(three types) , 5 pieces of sashimi(only two types) and 2 pieces of cali roll. Also a side salad and miso soup. Comes out all at once. Waitresses were OK. Place is kind of hidden behind Quiznos.

The first time I tried to go to this place the wait was 1.5 hours and considering how short their hours I wasnt going to wait that long. A couple weeks later we tried again, still an hour wait so we left. A month later we decided to try again, no wait with about half the tables open. They have two menus, one is sushi and the other is a Japanese assortment. It was a little more expensive than I expected but not terrible. However based on the price I wasnt blown away by the food. The rolls were edible, my husband liked the oyster roll but I found it bland. The other rolls were a bit heavy on the sauce. My friend ordered chicken Katsu and she said it was alright. After running into all the long wait times I was a little disappointed.

First time, nice menu. Poor food handling by chefs. Using same tag to wipe prep area and knives used for preparing sushi, chicken, etc. the chef dropped a kitchen utensil on the floor and put it back on the prep counter. We decided not to order. We were followed outside and asked to pay for the tea we didnt drink. $2 and left hungry. Server didnt bother to ask why we were leaving.

I agree with a lot of the other 3 star reviews on here. The prices were higher than I was expecting. My rolls were pretty good, but nothing spectacular. I got spicy tuna and Seattle roll and I was hoping the tuna would be a little more spicy. Looking at the menu I was surprised at how expensive the ramen and teriyaki was. $14 seems expensive for teriyaki and ramen.

Amazing Japanese restaurant in Bothell. This is one of the few places you can find authentic Japanese food (including great sushi) in North Seattle. The chef (Nakagawa-san) was trained in Osaka, Japan and it definitely shows in the taste and presentation of the food. If you are in the Bothell area this place is a must try!

Incredible food! The quality of food and the love and respect they have for food shines through in every scrumptious bite. Living south of downtown, we dont always make it to the north end (especially not during rush hour). This meal was well worth the drive for us and well be making it often!

Its one of the few restaurants where I can find omurice (on their Saturday lunch menu). I absolutely love the food and the staff is always friendly. Great place for quality Japanese food.

Sushi is good here, and for bonus they have range of hot food too, including ramen which is not always served at sushi place. Staff is friendly and give you space. Will come again

Love ordering sushi off the fresh sheet. Great cooked options are everything off the appetizer list, ramen, and curry or hiyashi rice. Save room for dessert!
