ok, here the thing, I love BBQ. I really appreciate the different style out there. This by far, has to be the most unique BBQ Ive found in Puget Sound. 1) they use Alder as there Primary Smoke. 2) they Smoke Really REALLY long, so its got a deep Smokey flavor to it 3) weird Tomato based Sauce they got, its not for everyone, kinda like they used Canned tomatoes, like a smokey marinara. All that said, Its Different, and yet, still tasty. I appreciate different and at first I was a little apprehensive thinking "this isnt BBQ" but in reality, its there style, theyve been doing it FOREVER and it works (business suffered a hug loss with a fire over 2 decades ago, and theyve rebuilt and gotten better). Biggest take away I got from these guys, after trading stories with the owner, Oprah actually would order their Smoked Salmon from here, Said it was the best she ever had, even got a pic posted on the board. Now, if you know ANYTHING about Seattle food, you know the fried Chicken Guys (aka Ezells) ALWAYS boast about how Oprah would order their food. Now just think about that, instead of using that as a Marketing technique, Caveman Kitchens just kind of brushed it to the side as if it were a very nice compliment. To me that illustrates Modesty and Humility, as if they dont care about rants and raves, they just make good food and share it with the people, that speaks wonders about the owners and thats why I believe they deserve 6 stars.

This place sounded a LOT cooler than it was it person. The exterior is a little divey, which sometimes may reveal a true hidden gem inside. It had a side of the road burger joint feel, but their menu was super creative, although the majority of the items (from entree to dessert) involved french bread. I orderd the salmon dip, which is a sandwich filled with smoked salmon, cream cheese, and fish au jus, and say down outside at the picnic tables for my name to be called. The bread was crispy and delicious by itself. The salmon was good, but the cream cheese spread had an almost mayo-like feel, and it was a bit overwhelming at times. The au jus was saltier than any salty chicken soup youve had. It wasnt bad, just different. But I typically like different. All in all I was satisfied--although the elements of the dish were yummy, they just didnt seem to go together. I do want to come back and try more items though, so well see what results! :)

Really disappointed. Small portions for big prices. We ordered the dragon wheels, pork cubes, polish sausage sandwich, salmon dip. They were out of ribs by 6PM when we got there. The dragon wheels were sad potatoes with carrots and some over cooked meat. Im not sure why they were called dragon wheels, it had me excited to order and really disappointed when it came out. Pork cubes were so over cooked. The meat was so tough! Our friends also ordered bbq beef, pork cubes, and bbq chicken and they also found it over cooked. The redeeming part of our meal was definitely the salmon dip. I thought it was pretty good crusty bread, nice creamy salmon in the middle. Our friends also had the salmon out of the fridge case which they enjoyed as well. Be aware no bathrooms on site for customers.

The one star reviews I see on here are definitely NOT how Caveman is. Im guessing about 90% of the bad reviews are because the person had a bad day, etc. or theyre looking to get free food. Ive been going to Caveman with my dad since I was 8 years old, and he was going there back in the 70s with HIS dad! Every time the food was delicious, down to the last bite, for the last 13 years of my life that Ive been going there. Tomorrow Im headed down there to buy some food for the office to give my coworkers the same experience that Ive had over, and over again. Word to the wise - Know what youre ordering and ask/observe what other people ordered. All their food is delicious, but you might be craving something specific. Try the beans though, the beans are AWWEESSOMMEEEE!

Always a good experience here, because the food is always in point. If you have to suffer through seattle traffic for whatever reason, do yourself a favor and grab a chicken sandwich(or whatever calls to you from the menu). Staff seems happy and are always nice. I dont go very often, but i havent noticed any angry customers either. Update: the last time i went there was half the amount of meat on my sandwich than usual and a lot of chicken skin. Im hoping that was just a fluke. The people i went with also complained about their food not tasting as good as usual. Still taste good too me, but i feel a little ripped off.

Im from Texas and have eaten some amazing smoked meats. This place is horrible. THEY USE LIQUID SMOKE which tastes like chemicals. Spent 35 dollars and got 3 tiny ribs, the fourth was an end piece. The staff forgot 2 of 3 items from my order, which I did not open until I go until I got to the other side of Seattle, I think they were training new staff members that day. Which is fine, weve all started somewhere. But the food was so bad I had no desire to go back and pick up the missing items. Not one to write bad reviews but steer clear of this place.

I bought a pound of pork ribs yesterday 08/26/17, the ribs had more fat on them than meat far too much sauce. Ive never taste anything more disgusting than caveman bbq i wasted $19.70 for NOTHING!!!!! People i dont recommend Caveman BBQ. Go to Barbeque Petes. For $19.70 i only got 3 pieces of meat i cant believe it. This was my first experience there ill never return again i wish i could get my monies back. Its too bad it smells good from the outside but when i got home i was highly disappointed. I can go on and on but im pissed.

I went here a couple of weeks ago. Normally I love going here.... Employees are wonderful.... But the last time I went.. They hassled me because I requested no cheese on my sandwhich and I was told next time they wouldnt remove the cheese as these are pre-made... Im allergic to dairy so I didnt quite understand why they treated me like that. Not sure whats going on with management but I thought the owner was gluten and dairy free....? Makes me not want to go back if its such a hassle to make a sandwhich with no cheese...

I ordered the French Dip 6.99 small Food was good but wasnt worth it, there were 3 slices of meet on entire sand which ,mainly buttery bread. Stumbled upon Cavemans kitchen on the quest for food. Very small restaurant with a few stools on the inside and picnic tables outside. There are a variety of menu options, but the prices are pretty steep. I wouldnt recommend this place to a person only feeding themself, but for a family who wants to spend over 100 bucks to feed their family a BBQ Dinner.

This is based on only one visit, but we were not very impressed. My wifes french dip was good but not great, but my pulled pork was not very good. The sauce was some sort of tomato sauce, not a bbq sauce (or at least not what Im used to). My kids ham sandwich was good though and the sides were pretty good. The bread on the sandwiches was excellent though, that was my favorite thing. If I were to go back Id try something different. It was a nice day so the outdoor seating was great.
