From Ballparks to BBQ

I was surprised at the size of the cafe. They offer patio seating out front, and also have a substantial dining area with booths and regular tables. The interior is full of light from the windows and other various lights, which gives the restaurant a warm, friendly vibe. You place your order at the counter and are then given a buzzer that goes off when your food is ready, similar to Panera. 2nd Helpings serves breakfast and lunch. I havent been for breakfast but they appear to offer standard fare: bagels, eggs, bacon, sausage, muffins, toast, etc. However, they do have a large variety of bagels, which are also used for their lunch sandwiches. They have a number of different sandwiches and serve Boars Head meats and cheeses. I had the Fourth Street Chicken (grilled chicken, bacon, swiss, romaine, & mango chutney) on an everything bagel and really liked it. The portion was VERY generous and the mango chutney really added a nice sweetness to the meat and cheese. The sandwich also came with a side of bagel chips. Nicole had a salad that she really loved and Ive also heard very good things about the soups. To make the meal even better, its hard to beat the value. For a huge sandwich with a side of bagel chips, it cost $6. All the sandwiches are $6, salads $7, soups $3, and a variety of other things. And 100% of the restaurants profits go toward the goal of the Rescue Mission: to provide shelter, food, and clothing for the homeless. A great place to eat for a great cause.

I have all our office lunch meetings at 2nd Helpings: for the past five years! The staff is fantastic and the food is always fresh and quickly served with a smile. It doesnt matter the time or day or how many patrons are waiting in line, they are efficient and you always feel like you are special. I also order treats for other offices from 2nd Helpings, what ever idea they create for the holiday, Valentines Day, St. Patricks Day, Easter, etc, the ideas are delicious and the presentation is beautiful.

Meh. My wife raved about this place nonstop until I finally went. The quality of food does not equal the price. I ordered a sandwhich, drink, cookie, and chips for $10. The sandwhich was too small, the homemade chips tasted terrible. My wife ate my cookie so I cant say how that was. They close at 3 PM instead of 5 PM, by the way. Theres a bunch of art, if youre in to that.

Excellent and economical. Great food, excellent desserts, best quiche in town-but get there early! The quiche sells out fast. Not a dinner restaurant, but they open at 8am. Benefits the Rescue Mission. Go! Located on Williamson Road one block up from the Berglund Center in the old Sears Town building. Go!

Absolutely the best place I have ever eaten for lunch. Tuesdays is the best day to eat lunch here. The have a huge baked potato special for $4.99 that is filling, allows you to have 3 toppings in the potato, and had a great flavoring on the outside that makes your taste buds scream yummmm.

I love the food, but apparently theyre only open until 3 despite saying theyre open until 5 online. I came in at 2:45, ordered food, sat down to eat and work on my laptop, and then was informed they were closing and then SHUT THE OVERHEAD LIGHTS OFF as I was eating.

Kickin chicken soup was just the right amount of spice and paired well with the corn bread. Others in the party loved their generous salad, grilled cheese and chicken wrap! Topped off the meal with a gourmet cookie! Great place! Friendly staff! Dont miss it!

I love this little restaurant. The staff is very friendly. The food is prepared in front of you. And cant go wrong with anything you choose here. Definitely try their homemade cheeseslaw and the desserts are amazing too. Id give it more stars if I could. Enjoy!

Restaurant is just fine. Great food. But the store has really gone downhill since the new manager came on board. Prices have been raised (bear in mind, this is a Thrift Store) and he is not flexible at all, like previous management was.

Their Wednesday Hot Dog special for $6.95 is great! Hot dog with 3 toppings, chips, drink, and brownie. The chili is REALLY good!

Very eclectic donated inventory in this thrift-shop; good prices and nice people. Great whole-foods restaurant on-site too.
