I had adopted a kitten from the cat cafe and Im not sure if this review should go to them, or the charelston animal society. After bringing her home I noticed she had trouble chewing her food and mainly avoided it to drink water. I brought her into a vet the following day and I was told her mouth was filled with ulcers, she had worms, cocidia, and that she was seriously under weight. I began treating her for her ulcers, worms, cocidia and on a weight gaining plan the vet provided me. She was in so much pain from the ulcers I had to keep her on pain medication for seven days so she didnt cry every time she opened her mouth. After finishing those medications her eyes were watering with yellow discharge and I found out she has herpes and conjunctivitis. I am now treating her for that. She cannot even get her next set of vaccines or her rabies shot yet because her immune system is so down. All in all in the two weeks of owning her I have spent over $900 on vet care. I am so grateful I adopted her so she can finally get the care she so desperately needed, but this establishment needs to take better care of their animals. Neglectfulness is the only way they couldnt have seen she was sick.

I organized a group of friends on Facebook to come visit because Im moving away from Charleston and I knew I had to visit the cafe before I left! Everyone was excited to give it a try, and were so glad we did!! The day we went (this week) they had 26 kittens, some of which were very active and others who slept the whole time. The decor is gorgeous and very comfortable for both humans and kitties, and the whole process was comfortable and easy. I was a little nervous because its a new concept and I wasnt sure exactly what to expect but the staff was very warm and inviting, and I was delighted to find that my $15 reservation got me unlimited (non-alcoholic) drinks (or 1 delightful cocktail) and there were pastries available as well. The employees were friendly, open, and happy to explain and share information about the kittens. All these kitties are rescues from Charleston Animal Society who are available for adoption, and I can see this really taking off as a way to get them homed! I will definitely be visiting again when I come back to Charleston.

This is by far the coolest hangout in Charleston. Spending some time with several of the areas most eligible felines is the best way to spend an hour. Most of the cats are quite snuggly and are willing and eager to play with several of the cat toys provided (laser, crinkle ball, etc.). The back room has drinks that are available, and although the cats arent allowed back there, the time I was there a certain purr-sistant (yeah, I did that, and no, Im not sorry) cat continued to claw at the door and meow, until he finally broke through and got into the back. Im not in Charleston that often, and I have two adorable felines of my own, but Ill definitely be back the next time that I roll through town.

SO disappointed! When I walked by last month with a few friends there were MULTIPLE children under the age of 12 in the cafe. We talked to the person at the desk about bringing our 5 year old girls in together and how fun that would be. We were handed a card and told to make reservations. Went online today to book and noticed that it said only 12 and older. Called and was told this was the norm. It would have been nice if the person I had spoken with initially had told me that so my daughter wasnt heartbroken when I told her she cant go. Although I guess it would have been difficult to tell me that with all those kids in there.

If you like cats, you will love this place. I wasnt crazy about paying a flat rate per hour, but an hour was plenty of time, and the included drink was generously large. There is a cat for everyone, from cats who sleep in boxes, to cats who sleep in your lap. There are cats who climb, and cats who play. I left wanting to adopt all the cats, which I could have done, as they offer adoption services for all the cats in the place. If you dont like cats, why are you considering a cat cafe?

Adorable and PURRFECT! I didnt know you need a reservation to hang out in the cat room. Go on their website to book your hour. $15 gets a complimentary drink (wine/beer or coffee/hot chocolate) and an hour in the kitty room/main area. Such a chill, clean, friendly vibe. Cute gifts and swag to buy that support local animal shelters. 119 cats had been adopted last I dropped by, exactly 2 months to the day since they opened!

What a wonderful place serving such a great cause. The staff are very friendly, and funny. The area to play with cats is well kept, and stocked with a bunch of things that patrons can use to interact with the cats. Ample seating should you be lucky to have a lap cat decide to chill with you. And the bar setting in the back is very cozy, and inviting.

I dont have high hopes for this cafe. Theyre not open because they didnt get the proper licenses but they continue to solicit donations via their newsletter and promote their Christmas party (that they cant host). It would have been nice to be notified they werent actually open before making a several hours trip to Charleston to check them out.

$15 Per hour, with one beverage included, to play with the cats! Helped us get our cat fix while on vacation in Charleston, and the best part was all the cats are up for adoption, in cooperation with the Charleston Humane Society. Spring/Summer sees mostly kittens, Fall/winter, more adult cats. Come be part of the cuddle puddle!

Love this place so much! I love the idea of giving the cats at the animal society a bigger space to live while they wait for adoptions. All the staff are friendly and helpful and fun, and the drinks of course are great! You can go anytime to get drinks, or reserve one hour for complimentary drinks and time in the cat room!

I went to check this place out, but it was closing in a half hour, so didnt officially get to have the full experience. I hung out in the front section though for a little, and that was enough to show me how awesome this place is! They had already adopted out 3 cats that day! What a awesome idea and its so cute there too!

What a tremendous idea, what a great way to decompress from the days stress, or bus schedules, or after a long drive. Who better to remind us that independence is precious, curiosity is contagious, and that trust must be earned than CATS ! Plus you get a refreshing beverage ! Highly recommended, relax, enjoy be amazed !

Lovely cats, pretty decent food, and pretty standard drinks! They do serve alcohol to people over 21, but they have alternative drinks in the form of soda, coffee, and tea. There are also no small children as you have to be at least 12 years of age with parental consent to go. It was a pleasant experience for me!

Fun and relaxing place! I have gone to Sunday kitten yoga, which not a lot of yoga happened for me as I was so distracted by the cats! Also been for a regular reservation. It makes for a great girls trip. I hope they are able to keep up with the success of the high rate of adoptions they are doing.
