I went here with my daughter for breakfast last Sunday. We were told a 15-20minute wait. The wait was over 35 minutes. The hostess was bussing the tables. She was the slowest buser I have ever seen. Most times there were 4-5 tables available yet dirty. The hostess would bus 1 table at a time then seat a party. Instead of getting all of the tables clean at one time. It was painful to watch. We were going to folly beach for the day and itching to get there. Breakfast took almost 1 hour 45 minutes. Our waitress was slow and inattentive. Another waitress filled our coffees up because our waitress went mia. Food was good, coffee great, service was not good and the wait was too long. There was 1 table that no one was ever seated at. It was a high top table, it was clean and no one was seated at It. We wondered if it was reserved or haunted or what?

Yes, the food is okay but the prices are exorbitant. I mean $6.50 for two eggs, bacon and toast?? The service can be good but it can be equally poor- seems like its contingent on if your server had a rough night. They are so overpriced they actually told me today that they didnt want my business because they werent doing anything to go. Wow, must be nice to be rolling in the $$$. If you are a tourist eat away, if youre a local you live in Charleston- you dont have to settle for mediocrity with so many excellent choices in town.

Loved it! Super welcoming and cozy dining room. Server was happy and helpful. I had the sausage-gravy and biscuits and it was even better than my moms back home. I also ordered a side of homefries and they were great. The portions were generous and the prices were more than fair. The person I was with got a fruit smoothie they loved and we both drank water. The total bill for both of us came to only $12 and change.

I had high hopes for this new addition to James Island. The decor is really nice, the bathroom was clean and bright, but the service and the food did not deliver. I hope to see this new place make a few adjustments to their kitchen and service as it would be great to have a solid new breakfast joint.

This place has a great vibe and the people are lovely! The food was amazing- we got the Fried Chicken Biscuit and the Tuscan Omelette. The service was perfectly attentive, the place was super clean, and they were setting out fresh pastries as we were leaving. Overall a great experience.

Great food and service. This is a popular place and can be crowded. I highly recommend the French toast, Folly Mess, Chicken and pancakes, Edge of America smoothie. So many great options! Family friendly. They dont allow laptops or tablets. Great place to meet up with friends.

It reminds me of my home city Baltimore. Fast bites, and the smoothies are elite. downside is their weird policy where you cant just order a coffee and sit down. What? How can a place advertise themselves as a coffee shop but not let you sit down to drink it. Fail.

Delicious food, fun ambiance, low-key. Love that they discourage cell-phone/lap top/tablet usage and encourage ppl to talk to one another. Coffees are good, but pricey. Parking design could be better thought-out, but at least they have it! Will definitely return.

Oh man this place is fantastic! I live on James island and first ate there yesterday. It was truly a great breakfast. The staff are so nice, attentive, and upbeat. The OMELETS are our of this world! Ill definitely be enjoying Black Magic often.

great coffee, great service, convenient location, very close to my house and beautiful decoration. It is so good that in two occasions I have to leave the place because I couldnt find a parking lot. It was full.

The atmosphere is wonderful! Nice and cool for a hot day. The only one tiny negative thing to say is that they served little creamers instead of fresh cream to go with their delicious coffee. Otherwise great
